  1. Yeah, some of these are terribly easy.
  2. Hmmm, could have sworn I posted the link. Nope, guess not: http://www.cool-movie-trivia.com/vaults_main.shtml I'm surprised nobody mentioned the lack of a link.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) That describes my families vacations all the time I was growing up. 20-25 of us in Eagle River / St. Germain Oh how I miss seing the indian across from "town" in St. Germain. That's how every summer is (it's just recent that we have been going to the cabin, but there is always a summer vacation with all of the family), and every Christmas. For Christmas though we descend on my wifes Aunts and Uncles house in Minneapolis. It's a good sized house, but we all still end up in a search for floor space to sleep on. But it is a great time. Usually with bowling, sledding, food, food, food, drink, drink, drink, and football. I usually drive the other guys crazy with all of my stupid "lack of knowledge" football questions. They are all rabid Viking (and Twins) fans.
  4. A day late, so belated happy b-day! Hope it rocked severly!!!
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) I think I just went the longest ever for me without any TV or internet at all, 4 days. I feel completely disconnected from the world? The only things I heard were the White Sox games on the radio. Two years so far me and all the family (and all of the wifes extended family totally 25 people) go up to some cabins in Wisconsin and seriously disconnect from the world for the entire week. We didn't do it this year, but we go back to it next year. It's a wonderful thing really.
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Anybody seen this bit with Kayne West? http://www.big-boys.com/articles/kanye.html Watch Mike Meyers squirm and almost faint! LOL!!! Oops, nevermind, found this mentioned.

  8. Don't know who it is for, and I saw it on a TV show the other night (one of those "best TV moment" shows. But anyways, description: Guy going out on date with girl. Picks her up, walks her to the car and opens the door for her. As he walks around the car to get in, she sneaks a fart out. The guy gets in and asks if she has met "Bob and Janet" yet, and the girl turns around and there are two people in the back seat. Janet's responses are priceless, right up until the end when the boyfriend says: "I feel some chemistry here, can you feel it?" and Janet responds right away with a "I felt it!" and the boyfriend responds "All right Janet". I know it is on the 'net somewhere. I'll have to look for it. Here is a link to it: http://www.arubaplay.com/favorites-videos.htm It's the "girl farts commercial". Crappy quality. It's for Smart Beep. Ah, direct download: http://internetdump.com/users/coprologist/smartbeep00.so.mov From this site: The Fart Gallery
  9. I don't know. I love Thompson, but I think for all the wrong reasons. But Apu knows his s***. It's like my buddy Curt. I love Curt, and consider him my best friend. He was my best man, and he is the godfather of my first born. But I never understood the idea of going along with all of Thompson's speakings. The man saw friggin' giant reptiles and thought they were alive in a bar for crying out loud. Sure, he was HEAVILY medicated at the time, but how f-ed up was his mind from all of the abuse? Ya know?
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) I was alive during Watergate, fell in love with journalism during that era, and with time to reflect, have come to the conclusion that Nixon was a far better President than given credit for. His handling of Watergate destroyed what would have been considered a better than average to very good tenure. JMO. That's kind of why I asked about the age. Many people loved Nixon and found him to be a very good president until the Watergate thing exploded. I loved the writings of Hunter Thompson, but so much of my love for him were for the humor in it all. My buddy Curt was/is a Hunter devotee and was also an extreme Nixon hater. Even threw a party when Nixon passed away. I never understood how he could hate Nixon with so much intensity when he was a baby while Nixon was in office. I also never understood how somebody could follow Hunter's ideals and beliefs. The man was a raging lunatic. If the world were to follow Hunter's ways, and everybody were to model their existence after him, Anarchy would be the only way of the world. Now, maybe he did the ol' "my life isn't for everybody" BS cop-out, I don't know, but considering the fact that the Thompson fans I know of all carried some of his traits (drinking, mass drug use, guns, blowing s*** up), I would say he rubbed off on them regardless of what he was saying about his abuse. Kind of like the jocks in high school that were into the Grateful Dead as an excuse to get high. Sorry for a bit off-topic wander there, but we are still talking about political spinners.
  11. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) at least its better than this story: ... Sorry, a bit off topic but i hate soo many djs...(i would say all but i heart dj shadow, aphex twin and four tet(though he doesn't sample i don't think), and the go! team) Oh...my...God... WE FINALLY AGREE!!!
  12. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Ben Stein was a former speechwriter for the most atrocious President who has ever slimed the White House with his disdainful presence (read: Nixon) That's really odd that you would have a strong hatred for Nixon. How old were you while he was in office?
  13. QUOTE(Yoda @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) Watched Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome last night and I had forgotten just how cool the Mad Max series is. Mel Gibson is awesome. The beginning is where the majority of the adventure takes place. The characters of the film, like Master Blaster, are what make this movie what it is. I love it until you leave Bartertown. Then it gets good again...once you get back to Bartertown. Bruce Spence is a God amonst men. He was even one of the Strangers in Dark City!!! How cool is that???
  14. Man...I've been taking a beating around this place lately. You would think I deserved it or something because I was overly opinionated.
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) pretty good band though. Which? Death Cab? Eh...they seemed O.K. I'd need to hear more. Kind of mellowish stuff though, and the name actually fits.
  16. QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) ... idiots talking about race. A gathering for NASCAR?
  17. I was asking about Death Cab. I missed the other stupid band name.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Can't get him but how about McGruff the crime dog? The heck with that dang dog man. He's all bark and no action. Sure, he can take a bite out of the word "crime", but he leads you to believe he can actually do something about the acts themselves. Get me Grimace instead...
  19. I miss all of the Ken Griffey talk. Do you think we could get him on board the SL&P section of the board? Or are we just not allowed to draft him in any way? I mean, I'm willing to make a few phone calls to see if he could come on over to our board and post. I can think of a few posters I would be willing to trade.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) I wasn't trying to prove you wrong... I know. I wasn't trying to imply you were, and I was serious with the apology. I guess it was towards a Mike Moore who isn't reading. Prick that he is. I also agree with you that race will always play a card. Whether it be truth or fiction, it will always be there.
  21. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) They remind me of the Postal Service minus the electronic computer beat stuff. OH...them... Man, I think I have fallen out of touch with music to a degree. Back to my Bing Crosby and Andrew Sisters CD. I checked out the Death Cab though...
  22. That is and always will be one of the worst names for a band ever. What the heck do they sound like?
  23. O.K., I stand corrected on his being the first to use the race issue. I apologize for being wrong. But Moore is still an ass.
  24. It's also the smarmy way in which he brings his points about. Seriously, are you more apt to listen to somebody making good points to you and actually speaking to you, or somebody who is mocking you and making fun of you the way a junior high school dork would do? Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Bush does have the crappy stuff he does just to piss off Moore than much more. Lord knows if I were Bush I would make for damn sure I was burning down trees and burning oil and people of all other races expect for "white" in effigy in Moores front yard.
