  1. This! Also I want nothing to do with Bader/Hays/Conforto, just let Acuna, Baldwin, Kelenic, and Pereira play as much as possible. Hell I’d rather Bryan Ramos get playing time out there too. The team isn’t contending so I just feel like the Bader, Hays, Conforto would just be taking ABs from the younger guys.
  2. Trying to be positive about it: Acuna is young Anybody got anything else?
  3. I don’t think the Mets are a very desirable location.. I think he’s going back to the Yankees or wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to LA at this rate 😂
  4. Concerns about Cabrera’s health probably hurt his value some
  5. This, after signing Murakami it really made no sense to trade Robert. And if the Sox were to trade him for an underwhelming return and he explodes with a new team, I’ll speak for myself, I’d be pissed because we all knew what his potential is.
  6. Idk some sort of negotiating/signing window every couple weeks with a break in between. Incentives for both players/teams for getting a signing done earlier. I don’t have a good answer for it but something to make the off-season a little bit more exciting to keep that excitement going into ST. I’m all for the players and team officials enjoying the time away from the game, the mental aspect of a long season doesn’t get talked about enough, but make the holidays a down time then so fans know what to expect because everyone knows what fans want is what matters most 🤣
  7. I’m not saying they would but damn does the MLB do a good job of losing fan interest in the offseason
  8. MLB needs to do something to get their offseason going, some sort of incentive to signing free agents in the 1st week of FA, with lesser incentives as every week goes by and install a deadline for the players to sign by. I remember tuning into the winter meetings being so excited but has just been a big letdown for awhile now. MLB needs to do something to get the fans tuned in for the offseason.
  9. I do think that Cubs dude is right though, based on everything else that has followed that report, I’d guess it was Boras trying to get the Cubs and others to get moving
  10. Cubs fans are gonna be saaaaalty if the Sox do sign him
  11. Then so be it, I don’t want to give Robert up for anything short of another impact player either in the rotation or in the lineup. I think this is very different than an Andrew Vaughn situation, if Robert gets traded for scraps and turns it on, I’ll speak for myself, I’d be pissed. I truly think Getz feels the same way, they need something of significance back for his ceiling. If the offers aren’t great then I’d rather keep him for the next two seasons and risk losing him for nothing than dumping him for nothing now. And yes I’m fully aware of his injury history
  12. I mean the Sox chose to pay him $20 mil, if he was Moncada-Eloy level of immature he wouldn’t be here right now
  13. He’s not nearly as lazy as they were otherwise he’d have been gone already. Chris Getz has had numerous opportunities to trade him over the last 2 years and hasn’t for a specific reason
  14. Yeah and if he does break out a team has him for a year and a half for $20 mil next year assuming the Sox don’t eat any money. I think you take the gamble and find other ways to go about getting pitching. I think there is something to be said about the mental aspect of showing up to the stadium 162 days of the year knowing your team is ass and you have to be the one to carry the offense and give 100% effort knowing you’re gonna lose most likely. If you paid attention when Montgomery came up and some of the kids started hitting there was a jolt in Robert, I truly believe there’s something still there, just needs to focus on staying healthy.
  15. And do all teams view him as a rental? He’d have another club option next year.
  16. If I’m not mistaken you said that teams were offering the Cedric Mullins-type return to the Sox for Robert. If that’s the case take that at the deadline if it’s there if you are that desperate to get rid of him. And odds are he’s not healthy but I’m taking the gamble.
  17. I agree, I think their pitching staff stinks but I’d still rather try and rebuild Robert’s value than give him up for whatever you can get. I want to see how he can perform with some lineup protection for the 1st time in years. At worst you got a good glove caliber defender in CF.
  18. He finally has some other bats in the lineup and his value doesn’t justify his ceiling. I know he’s oft injured but I’d rather bank on the upside with more lineup protection than give him up for simply whatever you can get right now. I know you really want the Sox to get that comp pick but if they’re gonna trade Robert they gotta get someone back that has more of an impact than a Chase Petty. And if the offer isn’t out there hold him, it seems as though Chris Getz isn’t desperate to move him.
  19. Luis Robert should not be traded, especially after signing Murakami
  20. Injuries aside, I love the idea of him playing on a Francona managed team and he has so much more upside than a Bader or some of the alternatives. I would prefer to keep him especially with some lineup support but I’ve come to grips with him not being in the lineup come March
  21. If the Sox are willing to eat half or more of his salary and want pitching then get David Stearns back on the phone
  22. I think they’ll be competitive but their pitching staff leaves so much to be desired. I would really like it if they kicked the tires on Imai. They need more, I’m just not a fan of their pitching staff
  23. Only way I’m trading Robert to the Mets is if they’re getting back one of McClean, Tong, Sproat, or Benge. Otherwise hold onto him and let him hit in the new look lineup
  24. Hold onto Robert and Sosa now, try like hell to get off of Benintendi’s money
