I said more valuable…Ortiz is on pace to be a 4 WAR player. Thorpe gives you reason to be optimistic. He makes the deal for Cease a win for you guys. I don’t care about Wilson! He’s a relief pitcher and they are a dime a dozen. As for Iriarte and Zavala they are both struggling at AA. Hall has not been good so far for the Brewers. I think the main reason is they insist on starting him. The Orioles didn’t get anything from him starting. Imo …he has to good pitches he can control. So he did well as a reliever but seems to lack command as a starter.

Every organization has them, there are only so many elite prospects. I agree with @WhiteSox2023…. I don’t expect them to deal any of their top 4.

They can and will purge vets ….Urias, Santander, Mateo, Mountcastle, Hays, …perhaps Burnes but hopefully they can resign him.

Underwhelming? So far “Nicky Ortiz” is better than anything you got in the Cease trade.

I think Elias would have to be blown away to trade Holliday, Basallo, or Mayo.

In his last 5 starts …he has 3 starts … 4 2/3, 3 2/3, 3 2/3 …giving up 4, 6, and 7 runs. I’m not excited.

Luzardo will likely go at a discount if he’s dealt due to down performance and injuries. I’m not sure what Holliday has to do with the injuries discussion. Did he get hurt? Yes he was bad in his first cup of coffee, 34 ABs ….. But, he’s only 20 and ihas a .926 OPS in AAA. He shouldn’t have been rushed imo…. But there was pressure from his father, agent, and the media to call him up. He proved he wasn’t ready and thankfully now everybody has shut up about it. Do you think he’s less valuable due to 34 big league ABs at 20. He’s still the #1 prospect in baseball.

What does that have to do with anything. Imo if the Orioles added Fedde he would be slotted behind G-Rod. It really would only matters in the playoffs ….if Fedde continues to pitch like he did in the 1st half then they would have to make a decision.

Well he’s been pretty dam good outside of 2 starts.

Naturally…. He is in his first full season in the bigs. He has plus stuff and he’s trending in the right direction. Is the KBO even Double A Equivalent? I said I’d definitely trade for him and would give up Norby and Beavers without blinking.

Burnes is in the top handful if the CY Young was awarded today. His K per 9 isn’t 12 per 9 but he’s pitching in front of a good defense. I’m perfectly happy with the way he’s performing. Robert is going to put the Orioles in their place? LOL ok Who cares ? Getz clearly asked for Jones and was told no. He’s not trading players to appease fans. If he is then it’s a stupid way to do business.

Fedde and G-Rod have very similar numbers. So one would slot in at #3. Im assuming you could make the same argument about Fedde since his track record before this year as Suarez?

He’s still a 4 Plus ERA pitcher.

Sure I have …. You guys complained about Cease numbers due to the White Sox poor defense. He’s basically the same pitcher this year on the Padres. At some point the actual results matter. Suarez clearly doesn’t have the stuff Cease has . But, he’s producing so there’s that. FWIW …. Fedde doesn’t either but the results look good.

I don’t expect him to invest his own money in the Orioles. I could be wrong….we will see. Hopefully he will spend the available team revenues instead of siphoning off the money like the Angelos family did.

????????????? no he wouldn’t … Burnes and Rodriguez are clearly better. Suarez has a sub 3 era in 11 starts after being put in the rotation. He’d be the 4th starter if you are using results.
