Honestly having him and Tauchman in the lineup could do wonders for the overall offense. Be nice to have a few guys who aren’t going to sit down after a four pitch strikeout or two pitch groundout.
Even if he has no power, he can take a walk which Nicky did not. With the moves they are making it seems they are at least trying to value guys who can work at bats, which is something we have not seen from the Sox in…..I don’t even know how long.
This is how I feel now that Crochet is gone. Tear it completely down. Get me more interesting OF prospects through various levels and build some possible depth, something they have literally never done before.

You are acting like Ramos has the athleticism of Sheets or Vaughn. I'm sure he can pick up being an outfielder. Tons of players have done it, the Sox just tried it on two of the worst.
He turned 34 six days ago. I doubt he falls completely off a cliff, and it's not like bat speed is one of his strong assets anyway. It's his pitch recognition.
