QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) I really don't mind a majority of their players. Fowler whines far too much about balls and strikes, Arrieta has become way too cocky (I guess he deserves to be) and Strop acts like an idiot. Outside of those guys, this team is much more likable than the 2003 team with Sosa, Zambrano and Prior leading the way. I would love to see them lose just to shut up the Chicago media members that believe Joe Maddon and Theo poop strawberry ice cream. I agree. Sick of the maddon and Theo love. Win a series first before bragging 24/7

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Just saw someone wearing a red and blue shirt with a huge Cubs logo on the back. The front simply said "Sox suck" This is the stuff that makes me want them to lose. I have nothing against the players. The fans just piss me off.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) I was accused of being "more of a Cubs hater than a Sox fan" just because of what I chose to wear. I was told i should be ready for the cubs world series win because its going to happen and that theirs will be more important then 2005. I said go 11-1 in the playoffs and dominate each team then come and talk to me after that happens.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) So many people today sporting Cubs gear around me. People you wouldn't think were Cubs fans, let alone baseball fans... meanwhile I'm sitting here in a Sale jersey I already got ripped at work over my sox jacket this morning.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) I am more of the Castro goes 0-4 with 7 LOB. I have a trouble seeing the Pirates getting to Arrieta though. He's given up 2 runs in his last 9 starts. I can't remember a run like that. Time for that run to end tonight.
-
Bad idea wearing my Sox jacket to work today. All ready heard about it from Cub loving aholes around the office. Ready for a cubs world series winner? Can you handle it? I said first off, we won it first and if you can go 11-1 in the playoffs and dominate the crap out of each team then talk to me after that happens. Got a dirty look. I love it

I should have just said he is going all offensive tonight and not worrying about defense. Sorry for the confusion.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) My point is, if he's going all-offense, why take out the second best hitter on the team? Does putting him in left field make more sense? I need to stop listening to radio rumors lol.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 10:02 AM) Lmao, I doubt he benches Bryant Or put him in left field. Who knows. Rumors on the radio.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) I'll believe it when I see it, how does benching Bryant help you on offense? It is rumor so far. I have no idea what Madden is thinking at this point.
-
Madden is benching Bryant Tonight. Going all offense. Does not care about defense. So i heard on the radio this morning.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 4, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) I'm speechless. I didn't see anything remotely close to this happening. How do they bounce back from this? lol. They had the #1 offense and #2 pitching staff. They had a good bullpen (only the middle relief was suspect), and homefield advantage, where they had been dominant all year. Anyway, make that an even 100 years. Wow. Game over? -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) I'm complaining that their league sucks so bad. Not the scheduling. They get Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, the 5th and 6th worst teams in baseball, 36-38 times a year. They get Washington 6+ times a year, SF 6+ times a year, Houston 18-19 times a year, and COL 6+ times a year. Here's the way I see it: If we're in NL Central, we're a 30 games over team. If the Angels are in the NL Central, they are a 40 games over team, and the same goes with Tampa. If the Cubs are in our division, they're just as good as we are. Then again, no point of going on about it, as it'll never change. Where do you think the cubs would be if they played in the AL?
-
My boss the cub fan said something really dumb today. He said if the brewers win the next 30 game in a row, they still can't catch the cubs.

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Great question, and I'm not sure I have an answer. It's funny, but one guy that I think could actually get them going is Phil Garner. But he was there for so long before, and with such mediocre results (though with different talent), I'm not sure he'd be welcomed. I'd say they need either a calming, elder statesman type (Jim Fregosi, or is he too old?) or a true feisty guy, like Garner or even Bobby Valentine (next year, I guess). Yost, I think, is the worst of all worlds -- wound too tight but not really a credible motivator either. IMO Ozzie would be perfect for them. He brings the fire and passion they need.
-
QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) And just like last year, they're coming unglued. Tonight, Parra and Fielder got into a shoving match in the dugout. I tell you, Yost has got to go. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280804117 It's really a shame. They should be 4 games up on the cubs. Who would you like to see replace Yost?
