  1. Am I the only one who would do this in an instant?
  2. I don't know how much Ritalin I would have to snort to create a list like that. No Lubanski? No Hamels? Kubel at #2? Blackley and Church ahead of Sizemore? Why the hell is Church even on there to begin with? Hernandez at 31? Bronson Sardinha? Ian Stewart at 49? Milledge? What the hell?
  3. Holy crap, it's a Rylan Reed sighting!
  4. In his last 10 innings for Potomac right hander Thomas Pauly against the Warthogs, he's gone: 10 IP 6 H 2 R 1 ER 1 BB 15 SO Grab some bench, god damn.
  5. 5-4-2-1-1-9 for Pauly, Jesus Christ. http://milb.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnfor...px?GAMEID=15453
  6. Uh, no. I talked with Haigwood and he said he feels about 95 or 96 percent healthy. Also not noted was that Haigwood was carrying a no-hitter into the 8th inning.
  7. Minnesota has had problems like that in the past, just look at Cuddyer, Ford, Restovich, etc.
  8. I bet Mariotti talks about this tomorrow in the Sun-Times.
  9. Swisher - You're buying into the Billy Beane hype machine. While he will make the bigs and probably become a decent ballplayer, he is by no means a top prospect just because Billy Beane would have drafted him #1 overall in the draft. Gall - Gall and Posednik in the same sentence? What the hell? Haren - Not a prospect anymore as I already stated. Aardsma - Got shelled earlier this year and is a college closer.
  10. I nominate this for most idiotic post of the year. Aaron Rowand is a 4th outfielder at best. I'm quite glad that you lack the mental capacity to become the Sox GM. What a joke.
  11. Brandon Claussen is not a bad prospect and should turn out to be a good ballplayer. The Yanks don't overhype their prospects because their system is very, very bad. If you want overhyped prospects, look no further than Oakland.
  12. Uhm. Gun to my head? If Sweeney corrects his little flaw in his swing, which I have faith that he will, Anderson...GUN TO MY HEAD. The image of a left-handed, power hitting outfielder is too much to let go.
  13. Yes they do. Eric Duncan is arguably their best prospect, but he's a ways off at High A ball after putting up decent/good numbers at Battle Creek. The Yanks could also send Robinson Cano who is far better than Morse thus far as well as Joaquin Arias who I believe is injured right now. A package of Contreras, Cano, Duncan, Navarro would definitely perk up Zona's ears. That and New York could throw in some cash.
  14. Pitching, pitching, pitching. As LDF said, Arizona also wants a catcher which we don't have. Obviously Sexson fills a void at 1st, Hairston is the future at 2nd, Cintron at SS, Tracy at 3B. Luis Gonzalez is getting old and the D'Backs wouldn't mind getting a few top flight outfield prospects as well. To me, a package of McCarthy, Anderson/Borchard, Young, Munoz would be a start for the trade.
  15. Players represent a farm system, so obviously those are where rankings come from. Outside of Barton, the Cardinals have a whole lot of nothing in their farm system. Thompson has been pitching way over his head, Gall is 26 and repeating the PCL. Even though Gall is raking in the PCL, that's nothing to write home about considering the PCL is one of the most hitter friendly leagues out there. The only other good prospect the Cardinals have is Hawksworth who has made a grand total of 2 starts this year. Haren isn't even a rookie anymore due to the fact that he pitched 50+ innings last year for StL.
  16. Correct, sir!
  17. Chad Tracy is not Reed whatsoever. Reed has better plate discipline, runs better, has more power potential, etc. Why would Arizona give up a good young player makes no sense to me and I'm having a difficult seeing your logic. Chad Tracy is better than Joe "Mr. One Month" Crede anyways.
  18. Crede, Diaz, Cotts and Anderson for RJ won't get it done. The D'Backs have Chad Tracy entrenched at 3B and the latter three won't do a damn thing for Colangelo and company. Keep dreaming.
  19. Bill Elliot or Kevin Harvick? lol
  20. He'll be a wait and see. He's now the Mariner's shortstop of the future though. As for McPherson, he pulled an amazing feat quite recently: he pulled an 0-fer with 6 strikeouts in one game. Would one call that a chrome sombrero?
  21. Holt was selected in the Rule 5.
  22. All of those guys you listed are not top flight prospects. Any St. Louis prospect is disqualified because they probably have the worst farm system behind Montreal.
  23. Upton doesn't have the arm to play OF, and there's no point to throw him out there with a future OF of Crawford, Gathright and Baldelli. Speaking of those three, that might be the fastest outfield ever assembled; Gathright is simply a freak of nature.
  24. You'd be absolutely insane to pick Wright over Upton. One could argue that McPherson is a better 3B prospect than Wright, although Wright is still a solid prospect.
  25. Edited that post. Barfield is not a top flight prospect. Baseball Prospectus hit the nail on the head when they said that Lake Elsinore (High A California League affiliate for San Diego) inflates numbers like crazy. Look at Barfield's numbers in AA Mobile and you'll see an enormous dropoff. I'm surprised that Floyd and Hamels, the top two prospects in Philadelphia's system, haven't been mentioned. Petit from the Mets is now emerging as a top flight prospect. Jason Stokes from FLA is still a great power hitting prospect, as well as Ian Stewart from COL. As mentioned earlier, Felix Hernandez is probably the best pitching prospect in all of baseball now, and to think that Seattle still has Nageotte and Blackley in the bigs now is frightening. While Nageotte could be hell out of the bullpen with a Ryan Wagner-esque slider, it'll be interesting to see what he does starting. Staying in the AL West, John Danks from Texas and Earvin Santana are also good bets. AL Central wise, one word comes to mind: Sizemore.
