  1. so if you were wrong on this info, maybe you may have been mistaken on other info? uh. you were soooo sure that he never tried to give the money back and now you are retracting you statement and revising it. jeeze. either way, playing the devils advocate, there might have been stories floating around which may have made joe nervous and he wanted to come forward. either way, there is many books out there that claims to know the whole story and different version of it gooing around, i still maintain that joe tried to do the right thing and was not part of it. you are basing your info on 2 sources, whereas i am basing it on several different books and website. you call it your way and i will call it my way

you are being an asshole again, but hey i expect that out of you every now and then.
  3. yeah you are right and i did use some of the algrens story. ref to your last statement, i agree if the black sox fix never happen, what a dynstasy(sp) we would had have
  4. Books are MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more credible resources than internet websites. Websites are often not liable for slanderous comments or reporting false information (unless it's connected to a corporation or something like that, such as ESPN), while a book is. btw, i got alot of the info from exerpts from books which was on the website. so i am backing this up with many books version. esp the article on the innning by inning stat that i posted earlier.
  5. This is a joke, right? If some jamoke who lives in his parents' basement puts something on his website, that has more credence for you than a book? My goodness. And for the umpteenth time, I have never seen anything that shows that Joe tried to tell Comiskey before the Series, nor have I read that he tried to give back the money. Knowing the way Comiskey was, I find it difficult to believe he would turn down receiving $5000. Everything I've read tells me that Comiskey desperately wanted to win the Series and would have gone to lengths to stop the fix had he had time and the knowledge, but he didn't. When he did find out about the fix, once it was too late, he tried hard to avoid losing the players. They were good players and he had paid a lot of money to obtain them and didn't want to lose them. look in the post of cincypost, he tell of the holtzman article, can't you read what i posted. i said it there. even holtzman said that. in baseballibrary.com, it gave list of people who wrote stories of what happen. there are books and paragraph that stated that, so if you are saying that you will listen to those who wrote a book, i got it from them from a website. which show exerpts. i still haven't see anything about the 20,000. now he did get the talent and spent the money in order to get them. one point that no one has mention is ben johnson who was the boss of AL at the time. he had a hard on and was one of the person who help blow this out of proportion. he hated comiskey and wanted to get revernge. he help landis come to the decision of the banning.
  6. I agree that it is a very good book But it did not make me a convert to the Billy Beane style of thinking. Much of it was very interesting, but I also thought some of his points were sensationalized (that happens in books? lol) trying to put Beane on a pedestal. Parts of the book also show what a bastard he is as well. i alway thought of him as being one of the better gm around and i thought highly of him and what he accomplished. since the book came out and how as you pointed out sensationalized him and to me he is acting as we should put him on a pedestal on how gm should be judge. that is how i see this, whether on not it is true, i hope now that he falls on his face.
  7. interesting point, the answer to that might be yes.

  13. usc only produce what prior, that is nothing of a track record to brag about.
  14. sd have a great ss that is project to make it in the bigs next yr, that player is kallid greene(sp) the sd is going for marquee names in the of and 3b to help them Ya, talk as of late is that San Diego is going to find a second baseman and keep Khalil at short, but they do have the option of moving him to 2nd and signing a damn good shortstop. Khalil was one of the best college players ever at Clemson (I think it was Clemson). they have a GREAT 2b prospect in josh barfield, and again he might start next yr or the yr later. i don't see them touching their 2b/ss combo of the future. however i will give you one point, miguel is too good to past up.
  15. we covered the subject of fisk departure, read it and let me know what you think ok

Pretty even trade...Spencer is just a "throw away" in the deal. I don't understand the Jndjans need for another outfielder, though. They already have Milton Bradley, Jody Gerut & Coco Crisp in the majors with Alex Escobar & Grady Sizemore not too far away. i forgot about alex being there. yeah you got a point. unless this if part of a bigger trade. does anyone of them pl cf. remember the sCrubs are looking for one.
  17. remember the hoopla over big frank, was it last yr, where ozzie was gloating. nah he is not manager or coach material yet.
  18. sd have a great ss that is project to make it in the bigs next yr, that player is kallid greene(sp) the sd is going for marquee names in the of and 3b to help them
  19. beside wally, another manager that the sox have that is worth looking into is cron, ref to ozzie, let see how he does as coach, remember how he left, a very bitter person b/c he still thought he still could play
