  1. I wore my Robert Jr. SOUTHSIDE jersey to work today. On the street, a guy wearing a Tigers hat nodded to me as we passed (this is yankees country).
  2. Hey! We've got a guy hitting over .300 in the lineup! That was a great AB.
  3. Pathetic. So frustrating to see the team beat itself by not playing basic baseball.
  4. That was a perfect pitch. Had he hit it, it probably would have been a ground out anyway. Those low outer half pitches have been his kryptonite. I'd rather see him lay off them than going back to swinging and missing cause they usually end up out of the zone.
  5. Good job pitching out of the jam (and bungles).
  6. Yeah. Benintendi was especially frustrating. All 3 he swung at and missed started below the strike zone and kept dropping. Vasil, ugh. On the plus side, I was really happy to see my man Robert Jr. come up with a clutch two-out, game-tying homer, not to mention Meidroth's RBI single just previously.
  7. I really hoped Robert Jr. would do better this year. A single would have tied the game. I'm still hopeful, but I read a good quote the other day: "Hope breeds eternal misery."
  8. Gotta say, the pitching was excellent today until Clevinger choked it up in the 9th. Second time already this season he's blown a great pitching outing by losing 1-0. Sox had 2 opportunities to score with no outs and squandered both. It was all pitching today. Would've been nice if the Sox had scored a couple. Anyway, happy about the pitching except MC (again).
  9. The bullpen is responsible for 4 out of the team's 7 losses so far. Can't blame the offense.
  10. Half the pen has been great. But not Murfee, Leasure, Booser, Clevinger. Wilson is suspect. But well-earned kudos to the rest of the pitchers. We've got some good stuff to watch, so far.
  11. Frustrating game. 3 would have been enough if not for Murfee (the goat of the game) and Leisure with some help from Baldwin. Except for Murfee, Wilson, and Leasure, the pitching was very good to great. My man Roberts continues to disappoint, but others are overperforming (imho). Get 'em tomorrow.
  12. That should be an error on Baldwin.
  13. Murfee the goat in this one. No one else to blame.
  14. Good play by Sosa and Smith. Excellent grab and executed fundamentals!
  15. Don't forget the bullpen losing 2 games. Yesterday was frustrating because the Sox beat themselves. I didn't see the homer in the 8th today, but regardless, they've already lost 2 games after the 7th inning, which was a glaring factor in last year's record. It's just 2 games, and they've been close. I just hope they're able to reverse the trend...
  16. LOL. Good 'ol late night Miss Cleo! Do you folks remember that she also was found to be faking her Jamaican accent?
  17. And Gavin Sheets homered.
  18. Great game to start the season. My guy Robert started with a double but looked not so good a couple of his ABs. Game was a joy to watch until I started having flashbacks to last year when Leasure did his best to give up the lead before he was taken out. A shutout would have been nice, but 8 runs? And only 1 ER given up? Whoda thunk? Great start to a better season in '25!
