Nice low-key but nice. The highlight was that one of my friends had a Garden Party and got to see lots of friends I don't usually. Live music as well--my fave campus bands. Then we went up to the campus music festival and I got to see Indigenous. Then I got to walk in the rain yesterday and it was just really refreshing and nice....

I definitely agree on that point. You win a lot more people over without being condescending, rude, and mean-spiritied... I can't even read some replies on here because they are just so mean-spirited and completely lacking respect for diverse opinions. That's not a debate--which implies dialogue--some of this is just preaching or overall meanness...

I certainly never said that. I hated Biomed ethics and the best ethics class I ever took was the Ethics of Jesus (PS I go to a PRIVATE school, and it was optional). I am also not sure how your post pertains to me and my comment at all. I simply advocated secular based ethics classes.

Yes, but only because I believe ethics is independent of God and can we taught in a secular manner. Of course, from my ethics classes I think this might be a bit much for a little kid--so I would say hold off until high school when they have more critical thinking skills.

Yes, actually I would do a study. If I were getting funding from a NON-BIASED source you bet I would jump on this. I've done lots of research and am planning on doing it for a career. If I could get proper funding yes I would do it.

Of COURSE those studies wouldn't be biased or funded by Christian associations... Kids are in school 6 hours a day. Why can't they pray during the other 18?

I'm afraid the majority of my Christian friends would not support established religion in the classroom. So know you're saying all types of Christianity but yours are invalid?

I for one could never be comfortable with prayer in school because I would know some of my friends and classmates would be uncomfortable.

There are many good, God-fearing Christians who do NOT want the Bible and God in school as they feel it would violate the first amendment on the establishment of religion. And who would decide which brand of Christianity gets taught? The liberal brand, the conservative, the evengelicals, the Catholics? There is no ONE Christianity, and don't assume those views are that of EVERY Christian.
