  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) Which is why I said s***ty hitter. Not player, not defender, but hitter. You don't have to put it italicized like I didn't see your point im not a moron, I was just adding my thoughts. I was actually 2nding your point but adding to it. :banghead
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) I'm sure Crede realizes he's a s***ty hitter. It feels like the guy's having a career year, and he's batting .248. Ouch. Even though Crede isn't all that great with the bat all of us realized how important he is when he went down and we had Ozuna there. Crede has saved the sox a lot of runs out there with his glove and once I realized that I am ok with him. I can't really think of anyone who could replace him that wouldn't cost us much talent or money wise.
  3. If I were Crede I wouldn't take it personal. Whenever people rag on me about something I know im not that good at I join in and make fun of myself. I highly doubt Crede took that offensive if he is supposed to be a funny guy in the clubhouse. I am glad Ozzie realizes that having him DH is f***ed up though.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Where's Jose Reyes and Joey Gathright? What about Konerko??!!
  5. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) I'm a huge Sox fan, have been for life, and I have been a big KW fan, but if Thomas is wearing another uniform next year, it will be a direct slap in the face to me and I may have to reconsider my allegiances. I may have not been around too long, but I have never seen such a great player (great doesn't describe it, in fact there's no word that does) disrespected so much in his own city, especially for one that did not deserve it. The White Sox owe it to Frank to keep him here no matter the cost. I feel exactly the way you do, if he can play next season he needs to play in a Sox uni until he decides he is finished. I can't make it any clearer than that.
  6. I don't know how anyone is defending the sox right now, they are hitting like s***. Tip your cap to the pitcher when he deserves it but today he deserved to get rocked and that didn't happen because they just can't stop trying for that god damn home run. I also hope they won't be doing this crap in the post, its gonna be a lot different knowing they can't lose so it will be a lot more intense but doing good going into the post wouldn't hurt.
  7. ...horrible. That's all that needs to be said, this is pathetic.
  8. Damn jphat what the f*** man?? Fathom is trying to let it die and you just keep going at it man chill out.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) We faced 3 good Oakland pitchers. Three good Detroit pitchers. A couple of deceent Toronto pitchers. Listen. We've scored 5 or more runs at home in 10 of our last 15 home games. THAT IS NOT AN OFFENSIVE SLUMP. We just havne't been winning all the close games. It's just a little team slump, and in between, we've played great at home. You guys are crapping yourselves over nothing. We haven't had the right combination of offense and pitching at the same time at home over the past couple of weeks. Its a slump. Its only been 2 weeks worth of home games. Joel had a 6.06 ERA entering this game with 19 GS, there is no reason why they only scored 2 runs. They get RISP but don't do ANYTHING with em. Their just not getting it done, no excuses.
  10. 2 runs from a pitcher coming in with a 6 something ERA, they should've scored earlier. This offense f***ing sucks.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Needless to say, we're relying on the homer a lot these days. No s***, even though were still winning its really sad. I wish they could just start putting some doubles and singles together.
  12. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) i'm willing to bet a GM will be willing to take a chance on frank and throw some money at him. Thomas will accept a fair contract from the Sox even if its less than what another GM is offering.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Thank you umpire. That wasn't even close to a strike. That's as bad of a call I've seen all year. What about that strike Ozzie got tossed for with Dye? I wasn't really watching it since I was on the phone, was is that bad?
  14. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) which is why i think we'll find out frank's true feelings during all this. Is he going to be willing to take a major paycut to finish his career here? we'll see He has no choice, whose going to shell out a fat contract for an injury prone player who barely played this season? I really believe its up to management to decide if Franks gonna stay. Frank wants to stay and will stay if it was up to him, thers no doubt in my mind about it.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) The Sox didn't trade for Blum to be a big bat. They got him because he is a big upgrade over Willie Harris and can actually play a good 3B as well as give Konerko some off days at 1B. Konerko's been an iron man out there this season.
  16. This organization owes it to FT, he needs to finish his career in a White Sox uniform. When healthy Big Frank can contribute so I don't see why they can't give him another contract. Doesn't mean he needs a contract with a guarenteed 8 million a year. Like I said before, Thomas can contribute if healthy so theres no reason why they shouldn't offer him arbitration. This "business" side of the story I consider BS. FT can contribute, you owe it to him to atleast give him a chance to show u KW.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) 3 and 12 in our last 15 home games. This isn't like struggling at Oakland. We have to play half of our games at this place, and we're in a massive funk there. If this team can't deal with playing in front of large home crowds, it's not going to get any easier the rest of the season. I think its more of just not getting the job done than it is playing infront of large crowds. Wether that means they are being outhit or outpitched, they are just not getting it done at home. I am rooting for Pods to get out of his funk fast because he is our tablesetter we need him BAD. I actually thought some of our hitters were going to start ripping the cover off tha ball but I guess not. AJ is doing good and Rowand has been good lately too. PK has been hitting more too but just not with RISP, which I hope he greatly improves on.
  18. This is sad, its ok to discuss the terrible play by some of the sox players but damn theres tons of arguments every damn game thread win or lose. Chill out people, u don't think the rest of us are also frustrated?
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) actually it was 9... 17 would mean we averaged almost 2 guys left on base per inning. oops sorry I was looking at the overall LOB for each player.
  20. 17 LOB today with 13 yesterday. :headshake :puke
