  1. Like everyone else these 2 losses to KC really pisses me off but this could be a good thing. Maybe Ozzie will light a fire under their ass, maybe KW might pull off some trades because of this, 2 consecutive losses to the worse team in baseball after we owned them may change this team. Although this doesn't change the fact that im pissed. Lets pray that Minn. loses tonight.
  2. Wow watching this team play this bad just ruins my mood. I am gonna stick this pic in my sig.
  3. God dammit, their playing like s***, do something Ozzie ugh.
  4. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I would think JC will pitch the bottom of this inning. Viz has worked 3 innings in the last 2 days. Hey they keep saying the best way to play Viz is to pitch him a lot so he can stay consistent, well heres his chance to prove himself dammit.
  5. Certainly an emotional game, they need to get their s*** together. Comon offense give Jenks his deserved W.
  6. Leadoff double and can't do ANYTHING with it, if this doesn't scream get a bat to kenny I don't know what will.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) 7 ER against Mark. Ouch. He hasn't pitched so well of late. im not watching the game, hows it 7 ER for Mark if there has been 2 errors?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Last time, he wasn't getting thrown out at 2nd base. His slump a few months ago was when he was getting picked off too much. Yeah, the game where Chan Ho got him like 3 times. I don't count that as a slump though, he said it himself Chan Ho was the hardest to steal on so far.
  9. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) The last couple days have brought these thread gems: - Trade Konerko so Dye can play 1st. - Fire Joey Cora, he sucks - Bench Tadahito Iguchi so Willie Harris can start - Joe Crede's defense sucks - Our team is like 2003-2003-2004, no heart - We will lose the division to the Twins After reading all the posts and going over the facts and stats, I have come to this conclusion: No one on this team can make a mistake, no matter how great they've been all year. No one can be in a slump, no matter how many times they've helped us win No one can make errors after not making any for months There is a strong and vocal community who does NOT believe in this team, it's players or it's coaches. They don't like this team and are looking at every excuse to bash them. 30+ games over in July .500 doesn't matter "It could be better" One of top defenses in MLB, doesn't matter "Did you see that play last night..etc" Top pitching in the League , doesn't matter. Top team in steals & sacrifices, doesn't matter 11 game lead in the division in July, doesn't matter Scored 459 runs...6th in the AL Given up 375 runs...1st in AL. 2nd in MLB!!! Thats why we win Folks!!! If we were playing poorly, I'd understand. If this team wasn't doing playing good, solid fundemental baseball, I'd understand. If we were playing selfish, I'd understand. BUT WE ARE NOT DOING THAT. So, I don't understand. So I ask why... All I can say is, I watch the games. I see how they play. I see the emotion, the heart and the guts they give every night. That's why were winning. Can we be better...sure no team is perfect. But does the house have to be destroyed so we can build a new one? No. Can another bullpen arm help. Yes Can another Starter help when we fragile in that area physically. Yes. Can a versitile bench player help. Yes. Do we need to replace half the team and it's coaching staff. NO In closing, your Honor, I demand the White Sox of 2005 be found NOT GUILTY of sucking and any reference to them or a specific team member sucking without provication or adequate facts to support that be mocked to the fullest extent of the law! This fan rests. lol, you said it right, this team plays too well together to crumble now.
  10. This is plain and simple, we just can't lose anyone in the bullpen right now their all very important and a big part of this teams success. I don't know what Odalis would cost us but I've wanted him for a long time.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) How many games up are we? How many more games do we have with the Twins? What is the magic number? Take these 3 qustions into consideration....it aint over till its OVER. It ain't over and I see where your coming from but the Twins would have to kick major ass to win this division. They have an unconsistent Lohse and Santana and Radke aren't exactly dominating. You can count Mays in the inconsistent catagorey too. Their bullpen isn't as great as the past few years and their offense isn't anything close to consistent either. Not saying it can't be done but a lot has to go right for them to win it.
  12. Dealing for Burnett is a huge risk, it isn't like we have someone ready to take Marte's spot. We have Cotts, Politte and a shaky Hermy without Marte, with how our SP are, dealing Marte would hurt us unless there was another trade to replace him. Count in the bullpen scares me and El Duque in there isn't exactly comforting. Not only is Marte's departure something to think about but the fact that you don't know how Burnett is going to transition to the AL. Could be bad or it could be great. KW better know what he is doing if he does deal for Burnett because this deal could be good or bad for us. I really don't know if getting Burnett would be a great idea.
  13. QUOTE(marsh @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Unless they plan to put him in the bullpen, I don't want another starter. The bullpen is our number one need right now. Not so fast, don't let yesterdays win make you forget that a consistent .300 hitter is also what we need.
  14. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) When Frank says he's at a 10 on the pain meter for his ankle, and that it is affecting his play, I think we may not see Frank again this season. And if he can't prove he is healthy against live pitching again this year, I fear the Sox may just buy out his contract and let him go, notwithstanding what KW said just a few weeks ago. I'd be interested to know the rules about adding him to the playoff roster is he's not reactivated until sometime in September. Does anyone know? I assume because he's an injury-casualty that he could be added at any time. Practically speaking then, we only really need him to come back in mid-September for him to get his form back. But I don't expect to see him before that. We don't need a Frank Thomas at 70%. Better to rest and try to get back to 90%. In the meantime, I hope Ozzie moves Rowand up in the order. He looks like he might resume his torrid hitting from last year and help carry the team. And I'd like to see a lot of Ross Gload if he can hit at all like he did last year. We could use someone that can crack the .300 hitting barrier and draw walks. I suggested he be rested until September sometime so he can heal better and get ready for the post. Hopefully it isn't career ending, Big Frank when healthy can do wonders to this lineup.
  15. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) if the a's win the wildcard,i'm going to cry, seriously Every sox fan will but then again, remember when the Twins played the A's in 02 I think it was and the A's had completely owned them in the regular season, only to have the Twins kick their ass in the post. If we do face the A's in the post I hope we do the same. Think about it, if we face them and kick their ass, it would make the post much more special. Just the thought of facing them though is kinda of like saying go home sox.
  16. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) You only get 12 assists when EVERYBODY runs on you. There is a reason everybody runs on you. Good point but he does have a strong arm. Cora has been great, better than Kim thats for sure.
  17. No doubt about it, JG has came through in the clutch all season long, its great to see him succeed. Heres to JG on his great season thus far
  18. A lot harder when the defense does its job right Boston??? BYEBYE Good job Sox go get em tomorrow because im gonna be there.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I thought they kept Zito because he still had another year left on his contract. I know Hudson was a FA after this season. Mulder still has multiple options left.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) It is. Dustin hasn't pitched in a while. Brush it off Hermy.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) You know what's amazing to me is it seemed like Zito had lost it with last year and the beginning of this year, all the sudden it's like a switch just flipped and he's the old zito. Zito can dominate and im sure if they weren't low balling Beane for him before he dealt Mulder he could have went instead.
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Agreed. I'd much rather have our offense face the Anahiem pitchers than our offense face Oakland pitchers. Zito/Harden are about as good a one-two punch in a short series as you're going to get... Hopefully Minny doesn't win the WC, either, 'cause I'd hate to face Santana/Radke in a short series, too. And before I get jumped all over, Buehrle/Garcia are just fine. I think we match up well against anyone's pitching staff, for that matter. Yeh, not matter how bad they did in the regular season Minnie's SP usually deal come playoff time. Remember Mays back in what...02??
