QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) I think you're all forgetting the Wildcard in this whole discussion the trade was: Freddy Garcia FOR Jeremy Reed, Miguel Olivo and Michael Morse That's right Michael Morse recently called up by the Seattle Mariners to fill in at SS for the suckass Wilson Valdez Morse this season: .329 (23/59) with 1HR, 9 Runs and 5 RBI. Not bad for someone a lot of you can't even remember. I remember him, just haven't looked him up, I knew he got called up though. We will see, did we give up 2 studs or just 1??

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Reed has a chance to be a very good one. He's just a rookie, so don't expect him to hit .330 yet. He may do it eventually though. Morse might turn out to be a good player for the M's as well. This is potentially another trade where both teams benefit, eventually. I guess that is good for the sox, GM's see KW as a good guy to deal with. He won't fleece you, you don't fleece him. Both sides win, both sides are happy. Although I agree with whoever said watching Reed in the web jems hurts...a lot.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) I thought Miguel Olivo and Jeremy Reed were going to kick butt this year and be budding if not immediate stars. I see Miguel got sent down recently hitting about a buck ninety and Jeremy has a fairly decent batting average at .271 but doesn't steal bases doesn't hit the deep ball and doesn't have a lot of ribbies. Kenny W. seems to know what he's doing. I must eat crow and say he's doing a fine job. Are any of you equally surprised Miguel and Reed are sucking? Reed is a good one. He is going to give you consistency. You will get a decent avg from him and decent speed. The more experience he gets the better he will utilize his speed. You already see his above avg defense. I am not sure about his arm but he has had a few web jems this season already. We can take his loss though since our farm is deep in OF's. The trade was pretty good I just hope Garcia can be a little more consistent, especially at home. I am not sure on his exact numbers because he might just seem inconsisten I don't know but it does seem like it. Think about it this way, without Garcia we wouldn't be where we are, the pitchers market was horrible this past offseason so I say KW did a good job overall.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) You call yourself captain obvious, yet you can't see this. Frank is gone after this year. If they could've, he'da been gone last year or the year before. What the hell are you talking about, are you aware the relationship Frank and JR have? Thomas has done a great job to this offense since coming back. Who are you going to replace him with? Both options will be declined and they will create a new contract. Frank is a White Sox for life. By the way 600 posts!

Right now, if the sox were to acquire a #1 or 2 starter, we would have 4 top of the line rotation guys and one decent. I doubt we do though, I just hope Garcia's home ERA will go down A LOT and Duque can come back healthy and strong.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) The very last shot they show is one of Konerko flipping his bat in the air and trotting towards first, that is his 2nd HR against the Cubs in the comeback game. I luvvvvv that bat flip!! -
I am very happy, the Twins look horrible right now. Their infield defense which has improved their pitching the past few years is not there anymore and neither is the clutch hitting. They have a lot of rookies and utility players in the infield besides Mauer and Morneau. Rivas has fallen off and they can't seem to fill in Guzman's and Koskie's shoes too well. Their pitching has been bad too, Lohse also has fallen off. Silva has the knee injury, no one knows for sure if he will hold up the rest of the season. Radke is having a little injury problems and Santana just hasn't been Santana. Mays was acutally doing well but he just got rocked. Their bullpen is also in a bad slump. With these things in mind and our current stand point, this division better be ours. It will take a lot for them to overcome us, keep in mind though they are the best second half team in baseball. They play pretty much the same schedule as us just different teams at different times. If the sox keep winning their series and aviod big slumps this division is a lock. Time will tell but I think we are doing pretty good, I want to think that, but my body won't let me. My body still tells me "were talking about the damn Twins here."

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) No that was Konerko's HR to tie the game in the 10th and Frank's HR to win the game in the 12th against the Twins in 2003. Carl Everett and Robbie Alomar's first games. Off Everyday Eddie right by the left field foul pole... I went wild when that happened. -
9 up on the Twins feels REALLY good but we still got what 13 left against them? Thats not including the fact their a really hot second half team. Keep the winning streak alive Buehrle and

A lot of people are writing off Bmac already, theres a reason why this organization is so high on him even though he hasn't been performing well. I actually think Bmac can put it together, ST wasn't a fluke. He just needs to locate his pitches and relax.

QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) I'm definitely a fan that misses him. He's doing a good job of helping the Brew Crew and Pods is doing the same for our Sox. Very good trade. I was sad to see Caballo go but the team needed a new makeup and I knew he was most likely out of here so it wasn't that bad when he left. Now that I reflect at the moments he gave us I do miss him a lot, he was great especially when meeting him a few times. As much as I miss him I love our new winning ways even though sometimes this team can frustrate the hell out of me. Once more, good luck to El Caballo and keep it rolling Sox.

Rack up them wins is all I have to say. Keep the winning streak alive for some more games, get about 10 game lead and keep playing hard. I am glad Hermy is throwing first pitch strikes again and Neal Cotts just keep dominating. KW go get us a BP arm and a starter if need. I will take any win, s***ty or not.
-
Carlos Lee with a league leading 60th RBI in Brew Crew's win. Thats a s*** load of RBI's, I am happy for him and hope he makes his 1st AS team, well deserved. I miss ya #45 keep up the good work.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) pitching against KC should help Edit: isnt it his home debut also? It is his home debut but KC has been hot and Bmac hasn't so hopefully he puts it together and dominates KC to gain some confidence. -

I guess this is Bmac's job to lose, if he pitches well from what is being said he will stay there. Good luck to Bmac and hopefully Duke can come back strong. If he doesn't do good I am expecting KW to bring in a good SP. I just saw the article from FutureSox, sorry for creating a new thread. Delete it if you want. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws -
