  1. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) I think most people with a pulse can tell the difference between a 17 year old and a 21 year old. I don't know about that. If people would guess Alexei's age, there would be a wide range of guesses prolly from 20-30 and he's 26 (supposed to be at least). A lot of these Dominican players look real young, which is why people can lie about their ages so easily.
  2. I would hope Silverio follows this type of path: 2008 - Bristol (17) 2009 - Kanny (18) 2010 - WS/B-ham (19) 2011 - Charlotte (20) 2012 - Big Leagues (21) If he hits well enough this year, there is no doubt in my mind, he skips advanced rookie ball next season and starts in Kanny. Let's just hope he is actually 17 and not 21.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) Javy likes big games? That's a new one. I am talking about how he says he likes pitching in big games.
  4. Massett at least looking like he cares. Thank you Nick for saving the pen today. Well Javy likes big games and tomorrow will be the biggest of the season thus far for momentum purposes, gotta hope he brings his A game. If he throws like he did against Pittsburgh, we'll be seeing another one of today's games.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:49 PM) Cole Hamels dominates them, at least. In a 7 game series that's two wins, they need to find two more and it ain't coming from Moyer or Eaton or basically whoever they throw out there. In all honesty, the Cubs have to be considered the clear favorites for the NL and really I don't see anyone stopping them. They are just so good offensively and they don't even have Soriano. Their staff is solid with Z, Dempster and Gallagher who i think is the third best and the end of the pen is dominate. God, i hate them, but they are really really good.
  6. Unforutanely, only one team in the NL can score with the Cubs and its the Phillies, and unfortuntely they can't pitch that well--starters wise.
  7. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) Anything good on TV?? Any soccer today? I don't feel like going out to mow the lawn just yet... Olympic Trials.
  8. This will be the worst baseball day in my life if the Twins win tonight. And i still have no idea how they are 2 games above .500.
  9. This could be the worst game I have ever seen, just feeling wise. I am so pissed and sick to my stomach right now. With Demster pitching tomorrow, we get swept.
  10. Oh my. This is horrible to watch. Torture.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:20 PM) Because they have a great offense? It's the fact its against the Cubs, a team I can't stand more than any other team. I admit the Cubs are probably the best team in the majors with a ridiculous offense, but I live all around Cubs fans, and that's all that will be on the news. Cubs Cubs Cubs.
  12. I won't be able to watch any TV now the rest of the f'in day. And you know the Twins will win.
  13. This sucks. Why against the Cubs of all teams?
  14. "Wise" move starting him today!!!
  15. I am gonna say that Marmol's ERA without looking would be the second worst in our bullpen now after Russell. Not saying I wouldn't love to have his arm, but just funny.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 07:21 AM) They are getting him an MRI. I am going to say nothing really comes out of the MRI at least structurally. I think they will find the usual inflammation and probably place him on the 15-DL with arm fatigue or a shoulder injury. I personally, he has just been over worked.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:23 AM) Yes, but he's terrible. They probably are just using him as a utility infielder. He's mostly solid on d. Maybe the I's needed another IF. Now, you know saying he's terrible is just you being nice because he's from Mizzou Whatever is below terrible in the dictionary and then below that, I would use to describe Fischer.
  18. The question you gotta ask is how much better is Roberts than Alexei? I am gonna say Roberts is better but not by enough to make me trade anything valuable for him (thus basically nothing).
  19. Who is pitching for the Sox tonight? **I don't recall this #56.
  20. 996 strikeouts, wow. Buehrle is having the quite the year.
  21. Does Hawk realize the pitch JD struck out on was an easy strike? It was middle-in, but not on the corner.
  22. Now Richard is finally focused on just baseball, as he was a QB at Michigan, so its possible that he has finally just bloomed after splitting time at arguably the most time consuming position in all of sports.
  23. Juan Silveiro is 2-4 with 3 RBIs in his White Sox minor league debut, FYI.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) And so does the guy batting. I was a little annoyed that we called up Wise. But I'm really annoyed he's starting over BA. What is Ozzie's beef with BA? Lefties the next two days, BA will be starting.
