  1. I would seriously consider trading Buehrle. A National League might be willing to take a shot on him seeing as he might still be good against teams who haven't seen him. A Buehrle + Getz could net your a very good major league ready prospect. Something to consider. I think Broadway would be better than Buehrle and nothing leads me to believe that Buehrle is gonna be his sub 4.00 ERA again--in the AL at least.
  2. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) As a sophomore Castro hit .167. Yeah, .167 for the entire goddamn year. So what your saying he would be perfect for our offensive strategy?
  3. Take a chill pill. The Sox have not even played close to what they are capable to yet. If the offense gets going, which it almost has to with some of the names in the lineup, we can get on another big streak. Heck we won 8 in a row playing great, not even our best. Maybe June will wake up the bats. KC is a joke of a team and this year's Sox have shown that they don't take anyone lightly and will play well. The cubs series will be tough, no doubt, I think the Cubs are the best team in baseball right now. but relax.
  4. I would like to see Pablo in the lineup somewhere. I don't even care if its first base or DH, we need some speed and hitters.
  5. Here something from MLB.com when he was drafted in 2005. But I still wanna see some velocity numbers.
  6. His numbers are awesome, but so far, no one has a scouting report on the guy. Until I see how hard he throws and what kind of secondary pitches he has, I will temper my enthusiasm.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 30, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) Yeah, Crow has pretty good command of his fastball. I always thought that was his best attribute, but I didn't get to see today's start (stupid ESPNU). He's a legit top 10 pick, that's for sure. Yeah, it was one time I wished I was back at school. I love home and everything about it, but no damn ESPNU and although Gametracker is nice, it ain't like watching the real thing.
  8. QUOTE (The Critic @ May 30, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) They sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame like they were late for a bus! Is it REALLY that hard to hook up a speaker with the organ music in the announcers' booth? Haha, it was horrible or Hull was at least. So much faster than the crowd, it was hysterical. Then, all Hull talked about during his on-air time was his wife's b-day.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) I got the chance to watch Crow pitch for Mizzou today against Ole Miss on ESPNU. He was filthy! His fastball was solid, as it was in the 92 mph range the whole game. However, his slider was absolutely amazing. He's as good of a college pitcher I've seen in a long time. On the other hand, former Braves player Brian Jordan was the announcer. Holy cow, he was bad. He sounded like Cleveland from "Family Guy". I'll continue to give updates from the regionals. Duh! Fathom, just joking. But seriously, Danman and I have been hyping (Danman longer than me) Crow for a long time. Is fastball is usually in the mid 90s the entire game, so he might not have had his plus fastball today. Usually it has nasty movement as well. And well, his slider, although he uses it too much prolly, it is wicked and mid 80s. Crow also has a changeup that is solid. I am telling you if he is there for Sox, you can't pass him up despite that fact that pitching is not a need for us.
  10. I'll take the lefty and he is already in the majors, two or three years younger than Scherzer. As a Mizzou boy, I still take Clayton and IMO it's not even close.
  11. Paulie!!! Please be back.
  12. Hornacek could be that young assistant. Not sure if he would want to leave Utah for another assistant job, but he would look nice as a coach.
  13. IMO, great signing. Terrific basketball mind and a Chicago guy. I had no idea, too, that he was Duke assistant Chris Collins' dad. Haha, guess I never connected those dots.
  14. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:31 AM) On game day that looked VERY shallow. Those watching it, was it? yeah it was and Fransisco had his momentum moving toward the plate.
  15. Come on JD, need some insurance.
  16. Nice slide Alexei, way to sacrifice your body.
  17. Gotta make some contact Carlos, shorten up your swing.
  18. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) incidentally, on the OC failed bunt attempt.... i dont know how much we can fault him on that. Westbrook was out of the zone for most of those pitches Then you pull back and don't attempt to bunt those.
  19. We need some hits here to keep the rally going, not just a sac fly or groundout RBI.
  20. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) Is it me or does Alexei really look so much better than he did at the very start of the season. If he continues to progress at this clip, we may have someone we can work with. He's been much better at using the whole field and when hitters can use the whole field it means they're timing the ball and seeing the ball very well. That and his swing looks shorter close to what it was in ST.
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) PH for DeWayne Wise with Swisher right now. Nice line-up with Wise hitting before Crede?????? Wise might be one of our best hitters.
  22. Come on Wise, somehow I feel confident with him at-bat. I like his quick swing and he hits the ball hard.
  23. The worst thing about our pathetic lineup is our pathetic minor league system that has one player who could be considered major league ready.
  24. Gavin pitched very well that inning. His fielding was not, but nothing wrong with his pitching.
  25. Teams always get little base hits against the Sox, but the Sox never get the same little base hits. It pisses me off that we never have any speed in our lineup.
