Thome would have scored, but not bad to be safe with no one out. Nice job Paulie, way to hit behind the runner.

Where the f*** is our offense? My god, it doesn't matter if Danks shuts em out the rest of the game, we arent gonna score any runs. Hopefully this is like the last Oakland game, but we need some runs, come on Paul Byrd is not exactly Santana.

Blackhawks win top pick in NHL Entry draft
QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) I'm not up on hockey payroll and such. Does a #1 pick like Esposito require a huge signing bonus and pay? If so, Wirtz goes cheap. Many people have been losing confidence in Esposito, he was considered a Sidney Crosby-esque talent only a a couple years ago, but now is not in that territory. I hear the russian guy Alexei Cherepanov is the top talent nowadays.

Blackhawks win top pick in NHL Entry draft
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) Of course, the one year it really doesn't matter... they held an 8.1% chance of getting it. the one year where there is not a sure fire elite level player in the draft, the Hawks get the pick. The last three years: Erik Johnson, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. Oh well, hopefully the Hawks get the right guy because they have done a good job drafting in recent years. Dale Tallon may not have the Hawks winning now, but he is doing a good job of building young talent and I have no reason to believe that won't continue in this draft.

Scouting report on A's Gaudin anyone?
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:30 AM) more importantly, what kind of pitcher will Garland be tonight... Exactly, our offense via small ball or the HR will be able to scratch at least 3 runs, but Johnny has got to pitch well.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
That was a 2005 White Sox win right there, long ball and small ball. Great starting pitching and a lights out bullpen. I feel a big win streak on the horizon, offense looked solid and the pen is well very solid.

4/9 Games
QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) Charlotte won 3-1. Owens 2-4, 2B, RBI, K. Sweeney 1-3, BB, K. Fields 0-2, RBI, BB. Box Score Barons won 5-0. Getz 3-5, 3B, RBI, 2 R, SB. Nanita 2-4, RBI, R. Honel 6 IP, 0 R, 4 K, 0 BB, 2 hits Box Score Winston-Salem won 3-2. Cunningham 1-3, R, BB, K, 2 SB. Rodriguez 5 IP, 2 R. Omogrosso with a 2 inning save. Box Score Kannapolis won 9-1. Gilbert 2-5, 3B, RBI, 3 R, SB. Allen 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB, K. Carter 3-5, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, R, K. Edward 5 IP, 0 R, 3 K, 1 BB, 3 hits. Box Score Cunningham = stud, I already think next year he enters Baseball America's top 100 prospect list. And it seems like, without looking at our minor league club's records, that they are all doing very solid thru a few games. Most important thing to me is the pitching, tonight our club's had a combined .75 ERA and you can never have to much pitching, so this is all nice to see. Before we annoint Honel back, I would like to see what kind of velocity he was throwing with, but anyways his numbers look very good.

White Sox vs. A's, 4/09/07 (W)
The pitching is stepping up now, so lets get our hitting goin so we can go on one of our runs. I feel like we are going to get a big run pretty soon here, its just all about Thome and JD getting hot, though. The pitching so do fine against Oakland, but if our hitting can get going, a 5-8 game win streak is quite possible.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) Well, the bullpen has definitely been a positive so far this year. yeah, even if we don't win this game, the pen looks like it shaping up well.
