  1. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) BTW Opening Day is listed as Mon. 4/3 vs. Cleveland. vs. interesting. I like another home opener.
  2. The variety is cool, but some reason I miss when we soley played the NLC in interleague games. I like the regional matchups. I'm looking forward to these.
  3. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) I'm not saying that this doesn't do good things for the Sox in terms of the standings, because it certainly does. I'm not saying that these games weren't fun to watch, because they certainly were. I'm not saying that I didn't have a blast attending the Sep 3 game, because I did. But what I am saying is that we beat up on a team that was 15 games back. That says nothing about whether or not our offense can match up against playoff opponents, that says nothing about how we'll do against teams that actually have good pitching. Let's not get overconfident here. Point me to a post where people are saying this bodes well for the playoffs. How dare people be happy.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) These are the types of fans I feel sorry for. They can find the negative in anything.. The game was too short; we should've played for 2 hours and 8 minutes. 76 degrees isn't warm enough for a game time temperature. Haha, that was pretty lame, but we got to see Strong Sad...
  5. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) We swept a losing team. Let's not get too excited. Tomorrow is much more important than these games. And this entire month, save perhaps for the Cleveland series, will pale in comparison to the Los Angeles of Anaheim game. If we win those, which is far from certain, then maybe you can get excited. A win's a win. We're not bringing many regulars to Boston tomorrow. It's not exactly going to be a measure of anything.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) not good Please elaborate for the people that are on a very delayed Gameday.
  7. QUOTE(Spiff @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Hawk has left the building. The 8th inning is always when he goes on vacation.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) This place is sure quiet. I feel somewhat responsible for these slow threads since I haven't been posting in them frequently. An update every once in a while about the game would be appreciated, especially things like good catches, just misses, etc. Of course our season didn't mean anything at this time last year, but game threads kind of died down like this in September of last year. I imagine it'll pick up again eventually with the playoffs around the corner.
  9. I watched Sin City and Guess Who? last night. Sin City's cinematography was very cool eye candy, but I couldn't really get into the story. I guess you have to have a little background knowledge on the comics or something. Guess Who? wasn't the greatest thing, but we watched it right after Sin City, and it was a lot lighter and gave you a few laughs.
  10. I'm a big fan of the Guiness commercials they used to show during PTI. The "Brilliant!" ones, and then they had those commercials where St. Patrick's Day basically equated to Christmas. Quality stuff.

  12. Real fun game to watch tonight. Solid job by Buehrle and the offense! Magic number = 21* * For the the moment
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Buehrle in trouble. Lets roll one up here. Yessir.
  14. Haha...A "C'mon!" remix by Hawk. "C'mon Pauly! C'mon Pauly! C'mon Pauly! He's safe!"
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Am I the only one who didn't particularly like his broadcasting style? I'm not angry about this decision. I never listened to the radio. I've only heard Rooney and Farmer in Sox commercials. I don't mind DJ at all, but it'd be cool if he could be the 2nd guy on the radio, and we get someone else in the TV booth. I don't see it happening like that though.
  16. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Throwback. First time and hopefully the last time they are seen. SB Good.
  17. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) Take it easy there, Juan Uribe has trouble carrying his bat to the plate much less carrying a team with it. That wasn't the case in 2004. We all know he's capable of it. There's no reason he can't be turning it on now.
  18. IU really just needed 1 good quarter, and they sealed the deal for the win at Central Michigan. Blake Powers, the new QB started to come into his own in the game, and the defense was just stellar all night. Football and basketball star from my hometown James Hardy in his first start for the Hoosiers had 107 yards and a TD at WR. He was a yard short from 2 TDs, and that catch should be a SC top 10 play with the way he brought that one in. Overall, not a bad way to start the Coach Hep era.
  19. Kind of cool to see what some of the players have done so far... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2150006
  20. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) according to every SOX fan on here he sucks... but according to the mlb he is a top five offensive performer in the american league.. just a thought It was voted on by fans. Not by MLB.
  21. QUOTE(rangercal @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) getting rid of Quinn and Krenzel are probably an improvemnt within itself. Yeah, last year was THAT bad. I know the Bears weren't planning this, but I'd say the Bears are still back at square one when it comes to a QB. Orton should not be the answer, yet.
