Wow; that's awesome that you've logged on to Sox Talk! Welcome! Like everyone else has said, it was a solid article, and it's hard to get mad with your assessment. You did your research, and it doesn't seem like many people do anymore, especially when it comes to the Sox.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) I don't know. Anyway, back to off-topic: I did work at a grocery store as a bagger last summer. It wasn't so bad, but I definitely didn't look forward to going to work for that 7-8 hours a day. Although, they usually had me work nights. That was both good and bad. I couldn't go out as much, but I am not a morning person, so it was pretty sweet not really ever having to wake up early. I normally started work anywhere from 1:00 to 4:00 and finished from 8:00 to 12:00. Luckily, this summer I've got a much better, yet more physically demanding job lined up. I'm gonna work putting in basketball floors for this guy that owns his own flooring co. It'll be pretty tough at first, I'm sure, but I'll get used to it, and it pays about twice as much as bagging groceries, so I'm pretty excited about it. Plus, I'm gonna be working w/ my best friend, so that'll help work go by a lot faster. Same here. I'm done w/ the grocery biz. I'm working at a golf course this summer. Wage is better, I get tips, working with some good friends, AND I get some free golf. It's going to be a good summer.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) I don't know if this is it or not, but I saw this on google news this morning http://www.theindychannel.com/news/4322063/detail.html Wow. That would be a good reason. Thoughts go out to the soldiers' families.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) Perhaps because two Big Ten Teams are in the Final 4, one from either side and not from Indiana? punching my ticket to hell when we find out the real reason . . . It's sad, I was thinking the same thing, joking to myself.

Reasons why I love The Tender Crisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch 15. Giant Levitating Bacon. Delicious. 19. Ranch is not only a location, but also a sauce. 23. The King has the best job EVER. Not only does he get to stand on a hill and watch all this crazy s*** going on, but he also gets to touch Brooke Burke every 5 seconds.

Delete this, if it has to do with another thread that's on the front page. I just noticed all the flags on campus are at half-staff. I don't know if this is something national or just something locacl.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Don't worry about it SleepyWhiteSox, I get the same response when I post something about hockey. Some people don't realize that those two sports are huge in places not named America. And, while I'm not a fan of soccer myself, I certainly respect those players. They gotta be in some real, real good shape -- the soccer field is friggin' huge. And, I saw highlights of the game. I guess it was pretty intense, huh? Didn't the Mexican coach get kicked out as well as one of their players? Agreed. I've really gotten into soccer, since I've been at IU. I used to really only get into it around the World Cups, or what not. However, I've it's a real solid sport to watch. Crowds are big here for the games. Also, it's not too bad watching a team with back-to-back championships, and 7 championships overall.

UT to offer Bruce Pearl head coach job

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Funny how a million dollars a year will change your morals. I can't blame him though. Which is the better job? -

It's funny. He was just on PTI last week saying that he was really liking Milwaukee. His family was settled there, and his kids were in school, etc. Basically, he was saying he wouldn't consider leaving anytime soon. So much for that. -
Good stuff, these are kind of like the Conan O'Brien state quarters.

Happy B-day man!

The steroid conversation was pretty good. I agree with the things you guys said about Bonds. The story on Helton was funny; Hagen is definitely saying two different things in that situation. I agree with the comment about the change on the offense. The media’s definitely blowing this out of proportion. The media didn’t care about the power when we had it, why do they care now? The Hawk impression… I agree with your sentiments on a lot of the position players. I’m really nervous about what Crede’s going to do this year too. I’m trying to stay optimistic on the guy, but I’m really not confident on his future in Chicago. You guys brought up some interesting points about Garland; I really like the guy, and he does get a bad rap. Contreras does seem to be the key to the Sox going places. It’s a big question mark about what we’re going to get out of him this year. I like the Dane Cook intermission …and Jason getting some love --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really liked the show. You guys did a good job breaking down the Sox, and it's always great hearing something about the Sox. Especially since we never get noticed by the media, nationally, or in the city we play in, Chicago.

Not a problem Mario. I'll just keep checking for it the next couple days.

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) i need unc to win it all for me to win my brack contest. But in all reallity i would love nothing but the Illini to win....i'm in a paradox. If UNC and Illinois make it to the final. Do I root for UNC for the money, or root for Illinois cuz I'm a fan?? Root for the team you like. I was in a similar situation tonight, but I'm happier with these results. If Kentucky won, I would have had 3 of the 4 FF teams correct. However, I'm happy to see the Big Ten do so well in the tournament.
-
And we have 2 Big Ten teams in the Final Four, and this is a down year?!? Michigan State beats Kentucky in 2OT, 94-88.

The shot that put it into OT.
