  1. Like they were saying on PTI yesterday, basically all the students and players were between the ages of 2-6 when it happened. So it better not be all about Pearl.
  2. Questions for Merkin: After seeing him in the early games of spring training, what kind of numbers do you see Iguchi producing for the Sox? Also, what do you think of Willie Harris' future with the Sox?
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) That's what I got out of it, greasy, but with all of the things I've been hearing out of Carlos today, you'd think that he'd killed someone. Geez -- I certainly never any of this when Carlos was here... Yeah....I don't really get it. I think Carlos had the best offensive year for anyone in a White Sox uniform last year, that's including Konerko. The majority liked him before the trade, went psycho the day we traded him, and now he's the worst thing ever. Maybe it's just the uniform, but who knows. I don't have anything against Caballo, and I hope he continues to do well. It must be said that I am happy with the team we got now though. I see that trade as equating to Pods, Viz, and everyone else we acquired after that.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) It sure seems like it to me. He is turning into Maggs Part 2. Does anyone think Marte actually hit Carlos intentionally? All I've heard all spring is how they want Marte to go inside on righties so he doesn't struggle with them like he did last season. As a result, occasionally he is going to hit some batters. No, and I still have trouble seeing how anything Carlos has done compares to what Maggs did.
  5. Reggie Miller just became the 13th player in NBA history to score 25,000 points early in tonight's game against San Antonio. Not too shabby for a guy who only averages 12.6 shots a game. Reg-gie, Reg-gie.
  6. Looks like much ado about nothing. In the game thread it seemed like it was the Wrestlemania XXIXIXIXX.
  7. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) so i've been up here in canada all week and this was the first thread i saw. Way to freak me out guys You mean this wasn't front page news in Canada?
  8. Comcast has the videos on their website about the KW and Buerhle interview now....I didn't get to see this; that was pretty hilarious! http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/multimedia.asp
  9. Dan Patrick definitely has some interesting interviews. It'll be interesting to hear what was said. It would be great if someone can post the summary of the interview.
  10. Are those outdoor ads around Chicago or anything? I like the grungy, hard-nosed look the commercials and the ads have.
  11. For people outside of the Chicago viewing area at the moment, the White Sox have put the '05 Ad Campaign on the site for all to view and hear. TV Radio Print Outdoor
  12. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) My attempt at a BP style post - Brown, Williams, Head, Powell Jr, and Augustine are the best 5 college basketball players of all time, and will become the best 5 NBA players of all time. Woo!! The sad thing is your post just sounded like a TRL request on MTV. BP sounds like he's dead serious.
  13. And the official release from the IU Athletics website... http://iuhoosiers.com/mensbasketball/news/...bk03-22-05.html
  14. Definitely official now....Indiana Daily had this article on the front page. Athletics department: Davis stays
  15. Haha that's awesome. Have a good one Baj! Hope to see you pitching in Chicago this summer!

  17. As much as I like Frank, it's Buerhle. This puts a lot of pressure on BMac. As much as I want to see him pitch, I feel he'd still benefit from more time down in AAA. However, we don't seem to have much choice on that anymore. Our pitching's a lot deeper this year than last, and BMac just has to try to put up #5 starter numbers while Buerhle's out. This is just a big blow. The offense proved last year that it could do just about the same thing while Frank's out. The offense has proven that it can do a decent job with this new mindset sans Frank, this spring. Frank's bat and numbers will help this offense a lot though when it comes back. Though the 2004 offense was comparable without Frank, it was no question better with Frank.
  18. I just saw the thread you're talking about, and it really doesn't look like anything more than speculation. Squash it.
  19. IU Alum Mark Cuban: http://www.blogmaverick.com/entry/1234000950036684/
  20. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Apparently Davis is coming back........ not much detail, but this is being reported by the Indy Star and the Bloomington Herald-Times. Davis to return next season Good.
  21. Wow...Barf.....Appropiate that this story broke, no pun intended on a Monday....
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) That is pretty cool. I play that all of the time, and that is the highest I have been on anything so far. And as for the Soxtalk league, I took a couple more chances (Ver beating MSU, Iowa beating Cincy etc), and I am still only 2 points from first place. Out of curiousity, does anyone have their final 4 still intact? Yes. Washington, Illinios, UNC, and Kentucky.
  23. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) Not surprising...... Knight has never been one to skip a chance to get in a final word. I think it sucks that he talks about Davis that way because he is a fellow coach, but nothing that asshole says surprises me. Agreed. It's funny how he says he should have left 6 years before he got fired. Bulls*** on that. Interesting how that would have him leaving in 1994. The last year any of his Indiana teams went anywhere in the tournament. It was definitely time for both of them to part ways.
