STRETCH!!!! STRETCH!!!!! GIT BACK THERE!!!! No that seems like a possible situation. And for no reason at all, here's a funny picture I found.
-
I guess you can say I can't enough Johnson or Big Units.
-
So how exactly does Vazquez end up in the Yankees rotation after he is traded for RJ?
-
Boy, that's as good as carved in stone if you ask me. :rolly Don't the Winter Meetings end on Monday?
-
I forgot to mention that when Big Petey was on ESPNEWS the other host asked him if the Yanks were still going to sign Milton after getting Pavano, and he thinks so. He also talked about how they would look into moving Brown to Atlanta. Moose Vazquez Pavano Wright Milton That doesn't look too scary.
-
We? No, people are going to talk about RJ because the Sox are mentioned as pursuing him more than any other team. How exactly is the GM of the D'Backs and "Arizona" two seperate groups of potential liars?
-
I'm rooting for Lil' Arnie. We have 4 righties in there right now and only two lefties.
-
They are $300 million in debt yet they are signing Ortiz, Glaus, Clayton, and possibly Estes, Counsell and Dellucci. I don't think they'll be able to afford RJ after adding all of that overpaid crap. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...yson&id=1943741
-
We should get them to throw in Beckett and Burnett while we are at it.
-
Which starting pitcher are we going to get for Konerko or Lee? Batista? I'd rather have a rotation of Johnson, Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, Grilli/Diaz/yo momma over Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, Batista, Garland. Just ask the 2004 Red Sox how much a dominating pitcher can help your team.
-
St. Louis also needs a second baseman. Palcido Polanco won't come cheaply.
-
Re-read Mr. Showtime's first post, it was edited. It is being reported on the Sox main webpage that Alan Nero said RJ never declined to go to the Sox because he was never asked about it. On Fox tonight, KW said he has not heard from Arizona since the meeting the Arizona brass held with RJ last night at 10:30 PM CT.
-
Grilli had problems in the first inning, but once he settled down, he was pretty good for what we expected from our fifth starters. Diaz was also very good out of the bullpen, but he came up huge with that win against the Scrubs and had a great game against the Mariners too.
-
More Schueler f***-ups: He was unable to sign Bobby Hill and Jeff Weaver because of his personal issues with Scott Boras Low-balling Robin Ventura Not getting a starting pitcher in 2000 when Eldred went down. Ken Hill Hiring Terry Bevington
-
So did Jason Grilli and Felix Diaz, what do you expect from them in 2005?
-
Schueler won a division title in 1993 and "half" a title in 1994, BECAUSE OF LARRY HIMES' FARM!!!!! So it took Schueler 10 years to win a divison title all by himself. :rolly :rolly :rolly

The Sox were leading the Wild Card in 1996 but fell apart due to a lack of a fifth starter (sound familiar?) Jack McDowell won 13 games in 1996 even though he had an ERA over 5, but that doesn't stop your fascination with Colon. And I love how you counter my big list of Schueler's f***-ups with a guy who went 0 for everything in the 1993 playoffs. One year worth's of Burks, and our current crappy colorman. I assume you're proud of Schueler for getting that good year out of Jackson in 1994, and not when he brought him back for a s*** season in 1999.
-
Peter Gammons was on ESPNEWS saying Vazquez for Burnett won't happen. Moises Alou isn't so sure about playing for the Mets because his father-in-law was murdered there years ago. Seattle, Tigers, St. Louis, and the Red Sox are all showing interest in Cabrera and Renteria. Cabrera and Renteria want to go to winners. Boras met with cashman, and they are talking about Beltran for the first time, so no offer has been made yet.

What the f*** are you taking about? Ron Schueler's bio: Traded Sammy Sosa and Ken Patterson for George Bell. Traded Melido Perez, Bob Wickman, and Domingo Jean for Steve Sax. Traded Jack McDowell for Lyle Muoton After the strike in 1994, he signed washed up garbage like Chris Sabo, John Kruk, Rob Dibble, Wil Cordero, Doug Drabek, and Roger McDowell. Drafted Mark Johnson in the first round. Drafted Jason Dellearo instead of Lance Berkman even though Shaffer insisted that Dellearo would be available in the fifth round. Refused to trade talent for players when we needed it resulting in duds like Scott Ruffcorn and Rodney Bolton. Only midseason trades made to improve the team were for Tim Belcher and Charles Johnson. Signed Jaime Navarro over Roger Clemens because he thought Roger was washed up. This one signing has changed Reinsy's philosophy on long term deals for pitchers. Released Fisk in 1993. Left Magglio unprotected in the Rule 5 draft. Drafted his daughter Carrie Schueler. The White Flag trade. And he couldn't win jack s*** with one of the highest payrolls in the MLB in 1996 and 1997. He also takes "credit" for the Todd Ritchie trade with the exception of tossing in Josh Fogg.
-
Thank God for that!!!!
-
We had a new manager for one year, and we only had the largest payroll on opening day under KW's tenure ONCE, and that was in 2004.
-
Danny Wrong was released today. There is no wrong with the Sox anymore.
-
Because the gold gloves are all based on reputation. Do you think Erstad would've won a gold glove this year at first base had he not been a gold glove centerfielder?
-
Yeah, I could've sworn I saw the Trib mention how Lee would only be dealt for Johnson.
