Fitting Ending to 2009 Season
Ozzie is still the manager, and I have a feeling the Sox will bring back Wise and make an attempt to lure back Pods. I don't expect Dye to be back. Then there's also the idea that Ozzie played with in rotating the 4 OF's with the DH spot. So instead of having a full time CF and full time DH, we'll have a below average defensive player in CF (Pods) or brutal hitter in CF (Wise,) with a DH that has a 101 OPS+/

Miguel Cabrera got drunk with Sox players Friday night?
I read a rumor on Motown sports where he has busted for a DUI. The article mentions his BAC but nothing about a DUI. .26 is ridiculous.

Fitting Ending to 2009 Season
Walker will fix him right? ...and if we're playing the career numbers game with a guy who doesn't look the same before and after he signed a huge deal, it should be pointed out his career OPS+ is 101. A tick above average. Not worth $12 million per, and not worth it in RF where he'll eventually end up.

This is it kids - 10/4 Sox @ Det - 12:05 pm WGN/MLB
So did we sweep a 3 game series at all this season?

Fitting way to end the season. That DP was his 7th (1 less than a slow and old Jim Thome,) despite how low in the order he was hitting. For reference he just knocked in his 9th run with the Sox last night. Pretty pathetic.

I'm not a scout, so I couldn't have been the one quoted.

Actually SI quoted one scout saying you'd have to light a stick of dynamite under him to get him going. Another scout described him as a "Hitting coach killer."

Pena has inherited 26 runners and allowed 14 of them to score since joining the Sox. That's Mike Jackson reincarnated. There's a difference between intentionally making a joke out of someone's name and a World Series hero's name incorrectly. 2005!!1!!! Hall robbed this organization blind. I think it's really sad to still see "Buerhle" around here considering he's a cornerstone of our franchise and has been here for nearly a decade. It's no different then when Sox fans would rip on Cubs fans for talking about "Kerry Woods" or owning a Greg Maddox jersey. He didn't have any power before he came here either. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4550

Puh-leaze. I've never seen a player with such a body for softball lack so much power. Tubby was terrible.

His name is Freddy He really is one of the worst Sox bench players of all time. Right next to Tubby Hall.

2009: A Big Step To Our Next World Series
Yeah, finishing below .500, in third place in a year coming off winning the division is definitely a step in the right direction.

Twins need some strikeouts at the moment. Didn't realize how well Rauch was pitching for the Twins.

Aside from standard 5x5 format fantasy baseball reasons, what's the big deal about a guy going 30/30 in 650 at-bats while possibly putting up a low OBP and sub-.800 OPS? It's the Soriano argument. I'd like to see Rios hit 30 homers and have 30 stolen bases in a season, but I hope it doesn't take him 700 PA's and have the same SB% as he's had with the Sox. He's never hit 30 home runs in a season (only cracked 20 once with 24 in almost 700 PA's) and peaked with 32 SB's with almost 680 PA's.

Wow, a 20 piece Chicken Nugget. I thought they pulled those off all the McDonald's menus. That's amazing.

Rotten Tomatoes: Worst of the Worst
Knight, Zoom isn't the Disney superhero movie. That was "Sky High" with Kurt Russell.. The one positive review Alone in the Dark had was changed by the author after she received so much negative feedback in her comments section, and then her review was deleted all together. So that should be 0/114 instead of 1/115. Uwe Boll is Ed Wood reincarnated. Man your taste in movies really sucks. I remember you being the only one who liked Strange Wilderness, and College, REALLY? That knock off of Superbad was so f***ing horrible. There's only one part I recall laughing and it was when the McLovin knockoff threw a bottle at a truck while drunk in the street. Brian and the guy holding the camcorder agreed with me. I've seen The Hottie and the Nottie The Fog (gee, another horror remake) Good Luck Chuck 88 Minutes Dirty Love (you see Jenny's tits in it) Kickin' It Old School Meet the Spartans Disaster Movie Epic Movie Crossover The Master of Disguise Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever and they were all dreadful.

Who should the Sox trade for this winter?
He's fallen off a cliff recently and can't hit away from Coors Field, and before anyone gives me any of the "USCF is a hitter's park too" s***, we have to play 81 games on the road as well next year and he don't need another hole in the lineup. Looks like the Stock Market near the end of the Dubya era.
-
Who should the Sox trade for this winter?
Swisher, Nick.

Jenks done for the rest of the year
It's from a respected poster on another board similar to this. Would you really want a link to WSI? Isn't posting links to other message boards (assuming they aren't sponsors) considering "spamming?" People laughed it off when some stranger on the White Sox.com troll boards posted that the Sox were getting ready to acquire Peavy for Clayton Richard, Aaron Poreda and two other players back in May. Take it with a grain of salt.

Vazquez and Swisher Redux
I'm comparing him to Anderson of course, but the other night he pulled up on a ball that should have been caught that was part of a big inning.
