  1. He's making over $12 million this year and his numbers look like a 2004 Joe Crede. He's also off the junk.
  2. Here's a "chicken and the egg" riddle for you: If the White Sox call up someone from the Knights to make his MLB debut, but he faces the White Sox's offensive lineup, what is the end result?
  3. Exactly. Doesn't anyone remember last August and September with our 4 starters having the innings piled on them?
  4. Any recommendations on an Irobot Roomba vacuum?
  5. I wonder if KW would've sign Linebrink if the Sox finished better than 15th.
  6. Wow. JD's OPS really took a drop. He's been passed by Thome, a guy some considered "done" back in April. Dye is going to cost too much.
  7. come on Greg. The guy has always looked like he's running through sand in the OF.
  8. So then the 90% of the people who were eating the same banana or the 73% who liked the non-organic tomatoes despite showing a bias towards organic have bad palates?
  9. Why is that boggling your mind? Saves is pretty much a worthless stat. Give me the best pitcher in any scenario. Screw the "closer" mentality crap.
  10. No they didn't. There was little substance to that Sabean rumor.

    Films Thread

"popcorn movie" is the cheapest, and stupidest way to describe a movie. When Jose Contreras walks 5 guys, only goes 3 innings and the Sox lose, nobody who actually went to the game would describe as a good "peanut and cracker jack" game. They may have actually enjoyed themselves, but common sense and people who are snobs about the quality of a product know it's a s***ty game.
  12. My God. How annoying would he be when he was on coke? How often did he mix up his stash with oxyclean?
  13. What studies are there that say organic is much more healthier than regular vegetables? I'd glady eat pesticide plants over organic Chinese (20% of the organic market) fruits and vegetables. How much healthier are (supposedly) organic foods over traditional grown plants? Enough to offset anything the human body takes in? Example: Am I just as healthy to eat an organic carrot and drink a Coke instead of eating a regular carrot and drinking water? If so, is that even worth the cost. Toss out the junk food: How longer would one expect to live on an organic versus non-organic diet?
  14. Boy for all the hub-ub in the offseason, Juan Cruz has been awful for the Royals. Hell there was one poster here who said he'd give up a couple good prospects in a sign in trade just to not lose a late 1st round pick.
  15. Grizzly Adams did have a beard.
  16. you guys can thank me for Gavin. At least when I criticized him his ERA was one of the worst in the majors, not like Thome's OPS. Where does Thome ranks amongst DH's in offensive categories?
  17. Good episode I was going to post this in the gym forum however youtube embedded videos are not supported. Is the cost of organic food really worth it?
  18. Yeah, really Brian. What was your point?
  19. that's a phony made from a current Phillies jersey.
  20. I noticed Mitchell and Ness has released the 1972 Bill Melton home jersey (used to be a Grandstand exclusive) but it looks different than the first release. Here's how the original (apparently) looked [from www.grandstandsox.com] That's also how my Dick Allen jersey looks Here's the new re-release: Doing some more research, apparently this is a game worn Dick Allen jersey: http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_forum/s...ead.php?t=26169 Obviously the back lettering is in question. It looks similar to how they screwed around with the 1983 and 1985 jerseys. Did they have different letter sizes during the early 70's?
  21. Jesus Princess, Balta is smoking you. Good thing you don't hang out as a right winger in the Filibuster
