  1. Is there a bigger sissy in the league than Erik Bedard? Today he gave up 2 ER but only went 3 innings throwing 81 pitches.
  2. Tim McCarver said Buehrle wants to pitch at least 1 inning in a Redbirds uniform. Anyone else here about this?
  3. How about Arthur "Rocky" Rhodes? KW came close to signing him before the 2004 season.
  4. Those are some awesome rumors, but don't seem to hold much water. Dan Haren would be f***ing sweet.
  5. How many times did Thome not making an out extend the inning in which a run scored (not including Thome's run like you said)? I.E. Thome walking with two outs allows Konerko to single in the guy who was moved to second. Do people really want the Carl Everett route of not walking too much resulting in a whopping 87 RBI's out of the #3 spot? Frank Thoams was still a very effective DH when he was batting 30-50 points below his career average.
  6. Sounds like the Minnesota Twins except everyone pops a boner whenever their system is brought up. The Twins' last playoff series victory was in 2002 against the A's, and A's last playoff series was a sweep against the Twins in 2006. Of course the A's typically play in a tougher division just due to the fact of how good the Angels are and how they only have 2 teams to beat up on.
  7. Why should Thome be completely to blame for the guys behind him? With our bad 3rd base coach the only hit he will score on behind him is a Konerko home run. Walk > not making an out. It's as simple as that. A guy can have a big average but make more outs than a guy like Thome. If Dye is going to be our #3 and Carlos ever finds his stick back, I think you'll see Thome get some more RBI's with a proper lineup shuffle. Pods Ramirez Dye Quentin Thome Konerko AJ Beckham 2B Looks pretty good to me.
  8. Wait, the same Jim Thome who you called "done" back in April? If this team either win the World Series or doesn't make the playoffs, I say you break up the band. If they do better than last year in the playoffs (with the exception of the winning the WS) I'd say live with JD's defense in RF for one more year.
  9. God, another day to shove that crap down my throat. It's ridiculous how long teams run the ridiculously long 15:00 clock on a guy they already have signed.
  10. Supposedly the Angels are looking at Kazmir.
  11. Thomas walkoff against the Twins, Valentin walkoff against the Cubs, 1993 Clincher, Buehrle 1 hitter against the Devil Rays, Sunday game against Padres in 2005, Sunday game against the Reds in 2006, and the Saturday game against the Twins up in the dome a couple of weeks ago.
  12. Bring the band back together and get Willie Harris for 2B and back up CF.
  13. That's complete bulls*** and proves these cameras are set up for nothing but making cash. If protecting the safety of individuals on the road is what these cameras are all about (that is waht they were saying on my local news last night about installing some of these) why are these treated so lightly? Why is it if I get pulled over by an actual cop it's a moving violation?
  14. I nominate anyone who uses only their first name, and if it's not their first name, it's weird. Brian, Jake, etc.... real creative.
  15. too late! Trades have already been made. Shut it down.
  16. Twins nearly have an OPS 800 points greater than us when they use a pinch hitter http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/split/.../OPS/order/true
  17. Are the O's still interested in Fields? Let's work something to get Sherrill
  18. Really? Even during the middle of that streak in 2007 where he retired like 39 straight hitters?
  19. Brian's options had a part in it as well.
  20. I'm jealous of their ballpark and that Sunday game against Jenks certainly didn't do me any favors.
  21. Still doesn't make us even for the Wise slide against the Tigers *shakes fist*
  22. Halladay-Santana is sick. They should pull the trigger
