No, Rex originally had Politte making $1.3 million. The contract he signed last January had an option for 2005 at $1.3 million. The new contract pays him $300,000 less (not that much) than the original contract.

Yeah, he gets off to a rough start, but he wasn't that bad last year. His numbers were inflated due to some HORRIBLE innings.

I'm not supporting this particular trade, but I'm all for dumping hearltess, pants full of s***, Jon Garland for a future HOF left hander who is coming off of one of his best seasons. We could get to the playoffs with a rotation of Johnson, Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras, Grilli/Diaz/ yo momma. How do you think the Sox would do in a short series with that rotation?
