Also excited that they may look at Pyrz. I'd offer him like a year 2 deal worth 6-7 mill with an option worth 4-5. Or go 3 mill this year, 4 next year and 5 or 6 in the option year.

December 16, 200421 yr I doubt we have the money to sign AJ, unless he is willing to take a huge paycut (down to ~$3 million)...If there is money available after a possible RJ trade, I would hope it goes solely to filling the #5 spot... Not to mention I hate AJ more than any other player in MLB...but that has little relevance here...

December 16, 200421 yr This trade is good but we still need a fifth starter. If they think Shoe can fill that role fine. A servicable fifth starter gives us the division the last two years. I still like Clement/Perez/Lowe and Prez. RJ is great but we go from having 4 guys locked up for a couple of years to two and Contrearas???
