QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) What's love, but a second-hand emotion? /wow, what a terrible comback Only a human mind could come up with something so insipid as love. /Mr. Smith in the 1st Matrix.
  2. QUOTE(Da Sox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) I hate the Royals so much, jus wanted to see what people thought of their sack-suckidness. :finger royals :puke Royals Only reason I didn't say "A Royal Amount" is because they just got done shutting out the Tigers today and drove them crazy in the processl. LOL!!
  3. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Nah...you're not an idiot. Jon never showed us anything more than that. The Idiots are those who refused to believe he finally matured after his hot start. Off topic but that Wedding Crashers deal you have in your sig is HILARIOUS!!!!!
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Care to give some examples of weakness bringing on more aggression? If we are tossing out cliches, how about violence begets more violence? Europe. 1930's Nazi's do whatever they want to whenever they want to and France and Britain cave. Do you remember "PEACE IN OUR TIME"? That's the most shining example I can think of right off the top of my head.
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Way off topic? Is that a sign of mental illness? You started us drifting. Better check yourself into a hospital before you ram your car into a carload of innocent people.
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Those darn hippies, growing up on presumption of innocent, fair trials, cruel and inhumane treatment, and all those other un-American ideals. Judge, jury, and executioner. Justice, Nuke style. Except he wasn't beaten by some families first. IMHO, this photo did more to galvanize the public against the war And the war hawks were right. Once Vietnam fell, the world went communist. It was also Walter Cronkite giving the death total every night. For some crazy reason, hippies and other Americans don't like seeing our young men and women returning in body bags. We're getting way off topic here but had we sat around and done nothing in places like Berlin 1948, Korea and Vietnam the war hawks may well have been proven right. EDIT: As history has shown.....weakness in the face of aggression begets more aggression.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) You've got your stats wrong...he'd allowed 1 earned run on the road all season. He's now allowed 2 on the road. Anywho...if there's someone who's going to challenge Garland for the league lead in wins not named Mark Buehrle, it's probably Carpenter. He's healthy, he's better than anyone realizes, and he just keeps winning. He's got an ERA that I believe is below 1 since May. D-Train?
  8. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) BECAUSE THEY ARE THE GREATEST RIVALRY IN ALL OF SPORTS!!!!!!!!!!!!$#@@%%@%@% no one cares anymore about these teams What are the Spankees and Red Sox this season but a couple of mediocre teams fighting for 1st in a weak division? Yeah I said it.
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Many people refused to call Buehrle an ace...Some people still probably do... People can call him what they want to......I call him a winner.
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Street Execution Linked Here Nuke, I forgot y'all are a youngin' For those of us a little older, that image, and that of a 9 year old girl running from napalm are very vivid. Sorry for the detour. Now that I have been enlightened on that another can of worms has been opened. According to the article that picture helped galvanize opposition to the war. I wonder how many of those hippies made the same mistake I did of assuming that piece of trash was innocent. /Back to your regularly scheduled arguing.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) I guess they don't teach military history anymore. Actually the person being executed killed a number of Americans. I assume the picture of someone getting shot in the head is what made you laugh. LOL ZING!
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) See how that list looks in July.......... ESPN CREW = OWNED!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are some old threads that NEED to be russerected.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) I guess they don't teach military history anymore. Actually the person being executed killed a number of Americans. Forgive me for not knowing that off the top of my head. I stand corrected.
  14. Off topic but I like this one better.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) So did he Nice comparison. An innocent person vs a triple murderer. :rolly
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) So a rational person, free of any mental illness, drives a car into another to commit suicide. Ohhh kay. Perhaps the voices in her head told her to drive her car into another? I don't know why she picked one over the other. If she wanted to "take out the most people with her", why didn't she buy a gun or make a bomb? So many unanswered questions. But with Nuke's justice, What a civilized approach. Call it what you want to. I call it justice.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) I love our little debates. The very act of committing suicide is a mental illness. Look at the assumptions you've made. So which is probably a better assumption, she is mentally ill for wanting to commit suicide, or she's a bitter individual who wanted to take out as many people as she could? It was so easy for you to advocate putting a bullet in her head. That's good because that's you job and you are trained well. You need to be able to kill anyone that our government decides should be killed. If you did pause and wonder if someone should live or die you would lose your edge. If she had died also, this probably would have been ruled an accident, that she lost control. I wonder how many other people have committed suicide in this way? Enjoy your Badge of Honor. The act of committing suicide is a mental illness huh? Explain for me then those who want to commit suicide to end painful suffering caused by illness or injury? OOPS. That seems like the action of a rational mind to me. They also don't have a tendency to hurt others in the process of ending their life unlike this flith here. There goes another broad generalization out the window. I stand by my statement you quoted. It's a lot more grounded in fact than it is for you to say she was mentally ill based on the facts provided. If she didn't want to take others with her then why did she simply not swallow a bunch of pills or jump of a bridge? Had she not killed innocent people in the process of offing herself she might have earned my sympathy but as it stands now she is right down there with the rest of the criminal scum that inhabit the earth. BTW my military training has nothing to do with my feelings in this case. I've felt the way I've felt about criminals long before the thought of joining the military entered my mind and make no mistake this filth here is nothing less than a criminal.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Lol. Wow. This whole f***ing thread is hysterical actually. Oh hell yeah. Almost as funny as their media and players acting all hard telling people they were gonna sweep us this series before even the 1st pitch had been thrown. LOL!!! Somebody got swept alright. LMFAO!!!!
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I will grant you in hindsight those budgets were a horrific mistake by the Clinton Administration...as were the times they chose not to try to kill Bin Laden. That still doesn't justify this literal attack on the CIA. I'm not trying to justify anything, what happened here was absolutely horrible and those responsible should be made to rot in prison for a long time I don't care who they work for or how high up in the Administration they are. This guy risked his life for his country and someone paid him back for it by putting his life in further jeopardy. That's not how people like that should be treated I dont care what their political views are. Also freedom of the press be damned people who outed a CIA agent in the media and all of their sources should be put on trial for treason and locked up for a long time. Just to clarify my position.
  20. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Like many, I wouldn't want to face the Cardinals. When I think of them I think of: Pujols Edmonds Rolen Walker Eckstein Sanders ... just about the whole f***ing team! A Sox Cards series this season would be one for the ages............but there's a lot of games we need to win first so I'd rather not think that far ahead.
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) How should everyone treat him? I won't boo him, probably just sit on my hands. He's gonna get booed like no other in recent memory.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) A person who is mentally ill, is sick, the same as cancer. But your attitude is, f*** em if they have a defect, put a bullet in their head. And I can cut and paste because "f*** you for saying that. That was totally wrong and off base and you f***ing know it." Back in the Neanderthal ages, they treated mental illness just like you are advocating. They thought they might be possessed, or even a witch. I guess you would have had a great time in Salem during the witch hunts. Why not drop by the VA and tell the Vets with post traumatic stress that they aren't really sick and have complete controll of their actions? :headshake You're doing it again. You've somehow managed to extrapolate from my statement that I'm for killing everyone with mental disabilities and illnesses. That's completely ludicrous and you know it. Find me one statement I made that even approaches advocating the mass genocide of the sick and mentally ill. I won't hold my breath. Additionally, tell me how mental illness is even relevant to this situation. I read that article 3 times and nowhere did it state that she had mental issues. You just automatically assume things like that to use as an excuse for pieces of s*** who commit homicide or other crimes. This is a shining example of the mind of a bleeding heart right here. She shouldn't be held accountable, she must have been out of her mind. She's sick, she's this, she's that. She's a triple murderer is what she is and she needs to pay pure and simple and if feeling that way makes me a barbarian or whatever else you want to call me then I'll wear that as a badge of honor.
  23. He just totally owned the Astros today. WOW! Watching the highlights of that game was amazing.
  24. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) i forgot how funny insensitive comments can be...thanks for reminding me. I'm here for you buddy.
  25. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) you're right, if you don't have a problem with it nobody else should. That the WHAAAAAAAAAMbulance I hear coming again? Sure sounds like it.
