  1. Congratulations on a fine outing Duque. We needed you to step up and deliver and you did. Its really a shame that the best he can hope for is a ND.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) You're a joke. His posts are plenty funny I'll give him that.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) BTW guys El Duque has only managed to give up 2 runs through 6 innings. Now can we score some friggin runs please! Of course the one night when Duque pitches his ass off and has a nice outing the offense has to mail one in. I know they've had some atrocious calls against them tonight but someone's gotta grab their balls and step up.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Aaron's not just out there to drive people in, he's also a great centerfielder. Once again what stats do you have to say Aaron isn't a good clutch hitter? .350 with RISP isin't good enough for that tool I guess.
  5. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) he bats 5th in the lineup not 6th or 7th! U get them situations u make the most of them! excuses are for children , Rowand needs to show production! His slugging percentage is off the wall! Sad when over half the leadoo hitters in MLB have a higher slugging percentage than him! Nice production from the 5 hole! Hate to say it but our best clutch hitter in a long time is with the Tigers! Dye bats 5th in the lineup.......when he doesn't have a bug bite on his ass. But then if you could look past 1 game you'd know that huh?
  6. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) look up his bases loaded stats ? Thats why the guys is leading the league with 30 something rbi's... yeah ! How often does one come up with the bases loaded? Not a lot huh? If you spent most of the season batting 6th or 7th after guys like Konerko and Dye you wouldn't have many RBI's either. Again. .350ish with RISP. That speaks for itself.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) He's not having a very good game. This is the complete opposite of what Carl has done all season, he usually comes through when we need him. Hopefully others can pick him up this game. Someones gonna have to step up and get it done. Miller is throwing complete trash out there and we're making him look like he's CY Young.
  8. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) hes like 0-9 with bases loaded clutch my ass! he's 4-38 with bases loaded in his career some pathetic stat like that.. clutch guess again! He's hitting something like .350 with RISP. GUESS AGAIN!
  9. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Give me Manny stats batting vs lefties , 50' something rbi and no where .326 its when u hit them, Mostly Rowands hit come in useless situations.. dont know why every one loves this cat . he aint that good! LOL!! You dont watch too many games do you. :rolly
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) I must say El Duque has been great since the gopher ball. I can handle him making 1 mistake . All I want to see is him go 6-7 innings with minimal damage and he looks like he's gonna get it done.
  11. Paulie the anti-clutch strikes again. Bases juiced, 2 down, 3-1 count and every motherf***er on the planet knows a get me over fastball is coming and he pops it up. This is f***ing bulls***.
  12. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Cora never touched 2nd at all That f***er was 3 feet off the bag when he got the ball. That was a total bulls*** call. I'm talking like 10 times worse than when he blew the call on Pods.
  13. Duque finally had himself an easy inning!!! Lightning has struck!
  14. Hey folks. Chat is up and running strong. Stop by and say hey.
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) why does CSN not do a pregrame right now?? Game's on WGN today.
  16. Duque is going to have to go out there and show us what he's made of today. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!
  17. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Brown should get called up over Borchard Why don't we just go to whatever gas station Robbie Alomar is working at and offer him a contract?
  18. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) When Frank says he's at a 10 on the pain meter for his ankle, and that it is affecting his play, I think we may not see Frank again this season. And if he can't prove he is healthy against live pitching again this year, I fear the Sox may just buy out his contract and let him go, notwithstanding what KW said just a few weeks ago. I'd be interested to know the rules about adding him to the playoff roster is he's not reactivated until sometime in September. Does anyone know? I assume because he's an injury-casualty that he could be added at any time. Practically speaking then, we only really need him to come back in mid-September for him to get his form back. But I don't expect to see him before that. We don't need a Frank Thomas at 70%. Better to rest and try to get back to 90%. In the meantime, I hope Ozzie moves Rowand up in the order. He looks like he might resume his torrid hitting from last year and help carry the team. And I'd like to see a lot of Ross Gload if he can hit at all like he did last year. We could use someone that can crack the .300 hitting barrier and draw walks. Frank's injury isin't going to get better if they rush him back too quickly. He needs to take as much time as necessary to truly be 100%. Somehow I doubt he was when he came back the 1st time.
  19. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Move this to "The Ledge" sub-forum (see, we need one) That's an awesome idea LOL
  20. EAT s*** BEANTOWN ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS OUR TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f*** OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMMIE A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Chat is open for business again. Stop in and say hi!
  22. Garland looks on his game through 2. Keep it going Jon.........we need ya.
  23. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) No he's not. The stats prove it. Hillenbrand .297 AVG / .360 OBP runner on .302 AVG / .363 OBP RISP .281 AVG / .350 OBP RISP w/ 2 out .261 AVG / .378 OBP bases loaded .333 AVG / .300 OBP Konerko .251 AVG / .350 OBP runner on .241 AVG / .335 OBP RISP .225 AVG / .346 OBP RISP w/ 2 out .140 AVG / .283 OBP bases loaded .429 AVG / .429 OBP Konerko dominates bases loaded but he only had 7 at bats with the bases juiced. Hillenbrand is a better player. He plays 1st and 3rd. Konerko has 10 HRs more but only 7 more rbi. Allot of his homers are solo and he sucks in the clutch. That's pretty damning right there. Nice post.
  24. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Did you see the commercial where the guy brags about his rich lifestyle; his house, car, and country club? Then he says, "how do I do it? I'm in debt up to my eyeballs." I see that ad on CNBC all the time. PRICELESS!!!
  25. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) I love Discover. Its the first card I got when I turned 18 and have had it ever since. We just signed up for some program from them where we get even more cash back when we use our cards for things like amusement parks, zoos, water parks, etc... We plan on going to a few while on vacation next month. I was offered and accepted a Citi Dividend MasterCard earlier this year It's the only card I have and I just got a nice dividend check for over a hundred smackers a couple of weeks ago. NICE!
