  2. The crowd doesn't seem like they care about what's going on out there. Probably because half of em got mugged on the way to the park.
  3. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) 2.00 whip, unacceptable TRADE HIM FOR USED JOCK STRAPS.........NOW!!!!!!!
  4. MB MAKES DEREK LEE LOOK LIKE THE b**** THAT HE IS. HAHAHAHA BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
  5. If MB gives up 5 runs in his outing I could care less just as long as he Ks Derek Lee.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) It's Detroit A place where they burn the town down every Haloween. f***ing savages.
  7. I-rod looks like such a little b**** now that he's off the roids.
  8. Some of the guys wanted to do a chat for the game tonight so I'm throwing up a thread to let everyone know what's up. Stop by and say hey.
  9. Al Quada has said many times before that they are incapable of beating the militaries of the west on the field of battle so their goal is to try to damage them so badly economically that they can no longer carry on the fight. The goal of these attacks is to do economic damage, no more, no less and they have failed miserably. The stock markets of the US have roared to nearly 4 year highs since the lows set Thursday morning and the FTSE in Britain is also higher than where it was pre-attack.
  10. Any Chappelle Show fans around here? I loved that skit where they had "The World Series of Dice". That was funny as all hell and more interesting than watching guys play cards on TV.
  11. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) If gooch is batting when pods is on he makes many sacrifices. Taking a pitch so pods can run so many times gooch ends up with just one good chance to hit the ball. Hitting 250 avg in front of pods I think is unbelievable.. Gooch is also being fooled by changeups which he didn't see in JAPAN. Also when umpires give an extra inch or two on the outside corner and the ball continues to break outside another 2 or 3 inches it is impossible for him to hit. Example Maddux non strike curve balls umpire like to call strikes against us. You bring up some really good points about Gooch and how he takes one for the team to help Pods either steal of move along otherwise. Even though his numbers have slipped some Gooch is still huge in the clutch when we need him and in the end thats all that really counts.
  12. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Well its nothing really special but after the HR derby the legends softball game is on and Bo Jackson strolled up to the plate wearin the one and only SOX hat....take that KC....... BO KNOWS! I still fondly remember Bo Jackson. Another one of the crew from the early 90's that made the Sox really special to watch.
  13. AJ's walk off literally gave me goosebumps. I must have watched that replay about 50 times over the course of the following day. Politte's RBI single was probably the greatest example of ownage I've ever seen.........but.......... My favorite White Sox moment this season had to have been when Jon Garland Ked Miguel Tejada with the bases loaded to end a threat. That was the precise moment I knew that Garland was for real this season.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) Christopher Walken-he is in a class all by himself. I know when he is in a movie its worth watching. Has been in several good cult movies including pool hall junkies, Suicide Kings, Scottland PA (awesome movie), True Romance, etc. Probably one if not my favorite actor of all time. He gets his unique style of delivery by editing out all of the punctuation in the scripts and delivers the lines however they come out. Chritopher Walken has been in about 1000 different movies. A lot of them are cameo type roles but when he's featured he still rocks. My favorite Walken roles are: 1. When he's that Air Force officer who brings Butch his daddy's watch in Pulp Fiction "He'd be damned if some slope's gonna put their greasy yellow hands on your kids birthright." 2. In "The Rundown" when he plays the evil mining tycoon.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Wrong thread there killer. Thank you CPT Obvious. LOL
  16. QUOTE(crash @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) If the Sox won the World Series, I'd probably participate in a riot. Come back and ask me that after we've won. Right now we've won...........nothing.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) Millwood Sabathia Westbrook Earlton Plain Dealer Hopefully the boys rest up during the break. The first assignment after the break is a tough one. We've schooled Cleveland pretty well all season long. I say we get at least 3 of these 4.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) $2.19 Keep in mind that we are paying a huge amount of tax on the gas. It's the ultimate user tax. http://www.gaspricewatch.com/usgastaxes.asp In Illinois you are paying $0.184 Federal $0.19 State Plus any city or county taxes added. Remember when Ross Perot was pining for a 50 cent increase in the federal gas tax? I wonder how well that would have gone over today.
  19. A little different perspective out here in Arizona. I pay 2.23 for .87 octane on base and its anywhere from 2.29 to 2.35 a gallon in town.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) I'm the complete opposite on that one. Stupidity is the inability to learn. Ignorance simply means that you simply don't know something. Its possible to be both stupid AND ignorant but you can be ignorant without being stupid.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) He's not a versatlie actor. That might be why, if he can only play the stereotype Italian mobster type and he's really kinda that way in real life, then it's not really a stretch. Can you name a movie where he doesn't play 'that' guy? Home Alone?
  22. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Whiners....people who blame anyone and everyone for all their problems instead of finding ways to correct them. BRAVO!!!!!
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Yes, we know, we blow ass against the A's. Go ahead and vent, we all know you want to.... GO KC! f*** OAKLAND GOD DAMMIT!!! THERE'S NO TEAM IN BASEBALL THAT ANNOYS ME MORE THAN THEY DO AND THAT INCLUDES THE FLUBBS, TWINS AND INDIANS. f*** OAKLAND!!!!!
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) ??? The main audience has either seen the old movie or read the book. Or at the very least knows what happens in the original. Im not stating my opinion part of what made the original and book great was the ending thats a fact not an opinion. Also I guess i can agree on the fact how at the end the neighborhood seem untouched. But than again that could be part of their plans. Let all the people go where they think its safe, it would be easier to kill people or catch them in big groups. For examply earlier in the movie that one city seemed untouched with all the people getting on the boat. Than all of a sudden like 3-4 of them ambushed the people effectively killing or capturing almost all of them. That ferry town was just that...........a small town. I guess it took em a little while to walk from NYC to wherever that ferry was.
  25. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) My buddy always asks for no ice and they can't just say no you can't have no ice or just not fill it up all the way. That's what I've been forced to do. Unfortunately sometimes I dont remember to specify no ice and I get a painful reminder of my oversight when I finish my drink in 2 slurps.
