QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) I don't know what news you're seeing that in. All I ever see on the news is "Natalee Holloway: Day 73982374823 Update...One of the prosecutors takes a dump! Breaking news!" and "2 Missing kids in Idaho!" What does that have to do with Iraq? Oh........yeah.......nothing.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) Well I'll wait to see their report when they get back before I get all excited. I just want to see some good news for a change. Something.........anything that does not involve someone dying or some other violent act. About the only place where you can find good news from over there is in offical statements from the military's Public Affairs Office. It's really sad because there's so many good things happening there that are being overshadowed by the bombings.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) I know, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but should a guy hitting .218 be hitting 3rd in the lineup? Not in my opinion. With his ridiculous home run ratio he should be batting clean up. With the way Jermaine Dye is swinging the bat over the last month I think he's a much better choice. He hits more doubles and singles and can drive in runs. Frank hasn't been a #3 hitter in a long time, IMO. He's hitting .246 now. I have no problem with him hitting in the 3 slot. Pitchers are afraid of him. If they dont crap their pants and throw him a meatball on accident he's still lible to reach out and nail one that other hitters couldn't touch. Either that or they'll walk him for not wanting to deal with him in the first place. Frank is playing like he thinks it's 2000 or 1993/1994 again and I'm loving every second of it.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) It's quite simple Nuke, that's how the entire World generally feels. How is it even possible to imagine the horrible human rights abusers in CHina get polled as being a better influence in the World than America? It's completely out of whack and you have George and his backers to blame. But of course this is just because the world's media is out to get them. :rolly And the rest of the world can kiss my ass RIGHT DOWNTOWN AND PRINT IT!!! ( Blatant swipe of the Lee Elia Rant ). Its certainly possible and it's most unfortunate because this Administration has done more to advance the cause of freedom and democracy than any of these other sniveling morons who call themselves world leaders and were the most critical of it.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,161463,00.html I'm sure their report will be fair and balanced as always. I don't know what media they're listening to. I love that intelligent people are out there to tell us the truth The foxnews article actually outlines very well what's going good in Iraq. We don't need a bunch of agenda minded people telling us that. Are people on the left going to believe them? Of course not. It'd be a lot more fair and balanced than hearing nothing but the daily body count from the mainstream media. Also, there you go again calling conservatives stupid. Just because they don't hold the same opinion as you do does not make them any less intelligent. You can veil it any way you like to, you can deny it ill you run out of breath but the fact is that the left thinks conservatives are all a bunch of idiots.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Yah they should go walk around the streets of Tikrit, Baghdad and Fallujah (if it's even there anymore), see how many of them get kidnapped. And please quit it with these claims that the media is leftist of all things, that is unbelievably stupid. If the American media is leftist than every other nation's media is pure communist garbage. Like the assholes in Britain who asked how 59 million some odd people could be so stupid when Bush won? :banghead

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) So we'll score 10 runs in the 1st 2 innings then cruise the rest of the way. I can deal.

I can't find a link on the web but I was watching on Fox News where a group of conservative talk radio hosts under the banner "Move America Forward" are paying out of their own pocket to get the whole story about what is going on over there. This is in response to countless letters that they have been recieving from people, a large chunk of which are soldiers who are serving currently or have served over there. I think this is a great idea because all we get from the mainstream media is blood and death and nothing else. I, for one, would like to hear more about the good things that are happening over there because that NEVER gets reported. Good news doesn't equal ratings and good news from over there helps the President and the leftist media can't be having that now can they?
-
Sorry I dont have a link. I saw this on O'reilly. Clifford Alford is a board member of the ACLU's Las Cruces, New Mexico chapter and he was on the show explaining what happened. This chapter was SHUT DOWN. Why? This board member was asked to resign after it came out that he was involved with the Minuteman group. He refused to resign and the remainder of the board supported him because it was his CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to engage in such activities. So what does this organization which preaches tolerance and diversity do? They SHUT DOWN the whole chapter and didn't even have the guts to tell them to their face. THEY GOT THE WORD SECOND HAND FROM THE MEDIA. Yet another example of the utter hypocrasy this organization engages in. Diversity? Tolerance? Constitutional rights? They will fight with all their energies to protect those rights...............that is unless you dare to have a divergent viewpoint from their radical leftist leadership. f*** THE ACLU. HYPOCRITES!!!!!!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) If he misses more than 0 games...the Cubs season is over. Even with Prior & Wood back. Their season was over the minute they started shooting for the Wild Card with half the season left to go. Houston is getting all set to make their annual second half run and betwen them and Milwaukee they are gonna leave the Flubbs to cry in their Old Style. f*** THE CUBS!!!!

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Ahem, look at the sig! I've been feeling like you are right now since that magical Dodgers game. How bout that magical D-Backs game where we threw up a 10 spot to retake the lead and slap them b****es down?

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) I always hoped Frank and Bags would end wit the same number of homers. Kind of neat synergy being born on the same day and all. Frank is our most important offensive player and proved that AGAIN tonight Frank's return has been just the spark this team needed to take us a level higher. We're clearly a better team with him in the lineup cause of the intimidation factor he has over pitchers.

QUOTE(PutItOnTheBoard @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) i hear ya man...i havent been this excited about the Sox since the incredible year in 2000 which ended so bitterly for me.....we need to take this momentum straight through the all-star break and create even more ground betwwen ourselves and those b****-ass twins and indians Hopefully we learned our lesson from that year. In 2000 we basically backed into the playoffs after an underwhelming second half and we weren't sharp for postseason baseball and we got our asses handed to us by the Mariners. I think it'll be different this time around.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) 54 left until 500. Barring injury it happens next season.................... BOOK IT.

EAT s*** FISH!!! YOU KEEP THINKING YOU CAN COME HERE AND BEAT US. YOU CAN'T!!!! STOP TRYING!!!!! PROPS TO THE BIG HURT FOR SPARKING THE OFFENSE YET AGAIN!!!!!! GIMMIE A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to ChWRoCk2's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Rowand has been my only disappointment this season, I expected big things from him. But I'm not going to complain about Rowand's under performance because he has been clutch at times. He's hitting something like .350 with RISP. Id say he's pretty clutch. -
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) This trade has a 25-75 chance of happening. We have to start hoping that Houston starts losing. Right now they are 6 games back in the wild card chase. You figure if they can go 10 back by the all-star break- Houston wouldn't hesitate to trade him. I say if Houston goes 10 back by the break- there is a 50-50 chance of the Rocket flying on over to the south-side. So we have to cheer for Houston to lose!! Houston likes to make their move in the second half of the season. I dont see them being a seller in this market. If anything I see them trying to make a move or 2 to help their team now to make a run.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Stuff has been done in the US. Attorney's have been fined and can be disbarred for bringing suits without merit. Plantiffs have been found liable for defendants attorney fees. Notice this is out of Russia. The down side is people who might otherwise have had their day in court, cannot. Some of these might have been valid. Thats what I get for not reading the article. Still the argument is valid for the overall picture.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Aren't there a ton of US factories in China? Yes.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Answer me this. Why are they buying oil like it's going out of style when they have oil that they can tap? Answer: because they are trying to push our market over the edge because they know our dependency on it. I'm telling you, these people know what they are doing, and they are about to kick our ass because of our shortsighted arrogance. Do the Chinese have the infrastructure to extract that oil? I dont know, I'm just asking. If not then it would be logical for them to be an importer of oil to satisfy their growing demand until they can produce what they need. High oil hurts them as much as it hurts us. So far higher oil hasn't hurt out economic growth very much and I've heard it said on CNBC many times that at least 10 dollars of the price of a barrel of oil is the so called "terror premium". I really do want to see us get serious about developing a viable alternative to oil though because eventually it's really going to hurt us just later instead of sooner IMO.

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Wasnt it Ron Schuler who said that Clemens was washed up and that he's rather have Jamie Navarro? One of the sorriest moments in White Sox history. Especially since Clemens could have been had for almost the same price as Navarro. Clemens wasn't washed up. Scheuler was retarded.
