QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Edit: Jermaine Dye came to Guillen before the game and offered to play 2B if needed. Oh hell no! I dont want that cement handed dead guy anywhere near the infield.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) People are forgetting that Oakland's LF dropped a catchable flyball that allowed Rowand to score. As I've been saying .. this kind of s*** happens I dont know how catchable that ball was. Hawk was saying it should have been scored a hit and it looked like he just got a bad break on the ball. -

QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Let's get the win today and get the hell out of that craphole. Agreed. I hate Oakland. -
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) Good point. Either that or El Duque and Contreras need to nut up and throw strikes. I know alot of El Duque's game is pitching around guys but Contreras has great stuff and needs to challenge hitters. In any case, I don't think they want to mess with Garland's mojo. He is pitching like an ace as the 5th starter. I doubt they mess with that. Besides, it would be kind of hard to switch the rotation around at this point. I agree that Duque and Contreras need to throw more strikes. Even they havent been really rocked yet their starts are an adventure to say the least.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) I know. You were doing some big time venting last night. I was just yanking your chain a bit. LOL Dude, I was so pissed at Dead last night I wanted to scream. It was all I could to keep my hands off the bottle of JD last night. Today is a new day.
-
QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Was this after last night's or Sunday's game(when he said the same thing)? Might have been that atrocious game in KC that we found a way to win.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Who are you .. and what the hell did you do with Nuke? I might bash the hell out of certain players when I feel they deserve it but I rarely hold grudges and I never post with the "sky is falling" mentality like some others around here.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Alas, I was dreaming and out of morbid curiousity I surfed here for a few minutes before going back to sleep. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. WOW! It was about as nasty in here last night as I ever remember it being. What WERE you expecting?
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) Just as Dye looked more focused on a few at bats last night, he s*** his skirt in the filed. He is my biggest concern right now, looks flat, lazy and distracted. Side note: For a supposed 'hard ass', Ozzie sure is afraid of umps. Didn't argue the balk on Marte or the play the plate and we got screwed on both. I think he might have come out when Carl got drilled. I was all over Oz for that one in the chat last night. Any other manager save for Jerry Manuel would have been right up in that Umps face screaming his fool head off. I know Hawk went ballistic after that call and it looked like total BS to me too.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) We lost, we blew it, it happens. Lets go get em today. I want to see us win the series and get ready to kick the Magg-less Tigers this weekend. Go Sox! I'm not even worried about that series. They'll be at home, fresh off an off day and regardless of the outcome of todays game they'll be coming off an awesome road trip.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) Heck I was relucant to get on here today... I guess us work-timers are a little more levelheaded... 85% of the f***ing world works at night!!! The other 15% come here!!! A playground for the cock suckers!!!! RIP EM!!!!!!! RIP THOSE COCKY COCK SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) Who are you kidding? If we would have gotten "Koch-ed" this board would have been just as ballistic. I dont think the game thread would have topped 1000 posts of flaming carnage though.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) Freddy had better drill one of the A'ss players tomorrow. It was obvious that the HBP by Harden was completely intentional. Dont do anything stupid like that unless the game is out of reach. If you watch any hockey that's the oldest dirty trick in the book. The opposition goads you into doing something stupid like that and it ends up costing you big time. Have a long memory though and when a good opportunity presents itself ( like the game being out of reach ) then fire away.

QUOTE(Bighurt52235 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) That 4th inning AB was absolutely amazing. Mad Props. That was totally awesome. He totally messed with Harden for like 8 pitches then got the base knock. Fun to watch.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) I hope so, just for the sake of SoxTalk. You'd think we were 0-21 with the b**** fest that took place last night. If we would have lost on something simple like a walk off HR or got totally blown out it wouldn't have been as bad. We got screwed over 6 ways from Sunday from the umps and the errors were totally nasty and we kept coming back only to blow the lead again. Games like that build up a lot of frustration & people gotta vent somehow.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-doug27.html What a ballsy mofo. Thank god we have a reliable backup like Widger to sit in so he doesn't have to play hurt.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) IMO you need to worry most about Uribes groin pull/strain/whatever. Not that I don't have faith in Ozuna playing SS if need be, but that only leaves us with Harris on the bench in terms of infielders and Ozuna took a shot off the forearm already, and makes us play a semi-gimpy Crede at 3rd until Uribe is ready. Gooch is getting worn down a bit also, so Harris will spell him tomorrow or next game I'm almost certain. That would leave us with nothing but a non-100% Gooch on the bench and he can only play 2B. Lets hope Herm and the crew can get Uribe back and ready for the game friday, as I don't really expect to see him play tomorrow. Thank god we have a day off on Thursday.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) I can't back Willie after he botched a routine play at 2nd base against the Royals. That tied up the game. He was playing his natural position in that game. So he had 1 bad play. Who cares. He's more than made up for one bad play with his bat. Compare that to DEAD who has been a little short of worthless all season.
