  1. cwsox i understand you are passionate about this b/c your son is over there and i hope he comes back without a scratch but your argument of "you can't support the war unless you are going to go fight on the front lines" is ridiculous.
  2. whine whine whine someone get this kid a pacifier.
  3. The mound visits are so bizarre, it'll say something like Status: Fatigued He's not hitting his spots. Let him work out of this jam. They're ready in the pen.

    Bracketologist Opinion

Kentucky is too perfect of a pick, I don't trust them.
  5. The whole freakin Big 10 tournament was a home game, against weak teams. The ACC is not weak. Look at Wake, Maryland, Duke, NC State (even UNC, a team you bragged about U of I beating) etc you do not know s*** about the ACC. How many of their games did you watch all year? Also, you keep calling the people on tv, "so-called experts", as if you don't even believe it yourself. If you don't believe they are experts why are you listening to them, and how can you use them for support? You can't have it both ways. The experts are the ones who gave Illinois a 4 seed now stop b****ing.
  6. I think we both know that KochThis knows nothing, he is a homer that won't stop crying and look at the facts. Notre Dame beat Marquette, Maryland and Texas in the same week. They could take Illinois. Well we all know Spiff is an assclown, as he hasn't noticed Notre Dame's complete collapse at the end of the season. Hey Spiff, be prepared to eat a ton of s*** after Illinois beats ND in the 2nd round, providing ND doesn't get beat first, which could easily happen against milwaukee. Notre Dame is one of the coldest teams right now, and we are one of the hottest. Right now, would ND beat texas? or maryland? that's a strong hell no, and you damn well know it. Illinois will dominate ND with our inside game. Just wait buddy. By the way who is ur team buddy? oh i don't follow college basketball, i don't have a team. nice to see you getting all worked up though, buddy.

  8. yea lets talk about shoe laces that entertaining yeh you miss the point of everything why don't you go back to your precious bong.
  9. you obviously know more than any expert at espn becuz u are the only one that thinks the illini deserved a 4 seed. in that case, let me bow down to you...ya, right...u obviously don't know s*** if you think illinois deserved a 4 after what they just did. what did they just do? beat indiana and ohio state? a 7 seed and a team that's not even in the tourney? WOW. I said Xavier is justified with a 3 seed. I never said Illinois deserved a #4 seed. I said if they are so good then seeding shouldn't matter. They went 11-5 in a very weak Big 10 this year. Then you say the Big East was weak, ha. There are at least 3 and maybe 5 teams in the Big East that could beat Illinois. I say the 4 is generous considering UConn got a 5 and they would destroy U of I.
  10. haha, the day I listen to an EB employee...
  11. exactly. and UIC is NIT-bound.
  12. It's written like a seventh grade civics paper. A list paper, no less. "There have been a lot of positives, and there have been some negatives. Thus far, the camp hasn’t looked too overly positive, but not overly negative. It’s hard to get a good vibe on the team, but then again, it was also hard in 2000; and we all remember what happened then." Three of the more useless sentences I've ever seen. Furthermore, we all know that spring training doesn't mean jack s*** when the real season starts. If the bullpen looks bad it could be for any number of reasons, one being that they are playing in Arizona. We might as well talk about the color of Magglio's shoelaces, as they have as much importance as all of spring training.
  13. xavier played a tough non-conference schedule (stanford, purdue, cincinnati, miss st., creighton, alabama) plus they had teams like st. joe's (7 seed) and dayton (4 seed) in their own conference to contend with. don't go s***ting on xavier, a team you know nothing about, because illinois isn't a 3. if you are so confident they can beat the powerhouses like missouri and unc then it should be no problem regardless of their seed.
  14. yeh you can do four, or you can stick with 5 and skip the 5th sometimes, like when you have off days. if you are unsure which one you want, you could always rent em and decide there. but all the stuff asb has is more than enough for me. 75 stadiums, 200 unis, scenario mode, trivia game, unlockables like aluminum bats and bobblehead players give you stuff to try out all the time.
  15. Franchise is sweet. Rule 5 draft, amateur draft, arbitration all that stuff. You can commit a certain amount of points to categories like coaching (helps your players improve more and faster), medical staff (come back from injuries faster), training (get injured less), etc. When you make the playoffs, you get more points to use on that stuff, so you are rewarded for winning. Also I think your budget to use on players gets bigger. You can do multiplayer trades, also involving minor leaguers, but the cpu doesn't let you rip them off. If they don't want a player, or they have a good one that doesn't make alot, they are less likely to make the trade.
  16. It was $50 at EB but I had a gift card for 10 so i wound paying about 42 with tax. This game seems pretty hard to me, even on rook. The pitch really comes in fast too, you have to develop an eye for recognize the pitch, and where it's going. That's what makes it tough. I have won a lot of 3-2, 2-1, 5-3 type games. I'm about 20 games into a franchise and it's still great. There's so many details from hot/cold zones, to hitting charts and pitch counts, warming up the bullpen, putting in righties against left handed pitchers, etc it makes it very realistic.
  17. I went to EB on wednesday the 5th and it was sitting right there.
  18. Karkovice was freakin huge in that game I didn't understand that. It shouldn't be too hard to find an SNES and Griffey baseball at a Funcoland around where you live. I remember the menu music for that game with the electric guitar was bangin, and you learned quickly not to test Buhner's arm. ASB2004 for ps2 is solid. The hitting takes a while to get used to, but once you do it's alot better than the easy or zone setting. You really have to concentrate to pitch. The cards are pretty useless except for the team and uniform ones, and the scenario is fun but some of them, like hitting the 5th home run with Cameron, are hard and boring b/c you have to wait about 2 innings to hit with him again.
  19. b/c he crossed the picket lines in 1994, so now they won't let him in.
  20. No Daubach because he's not in the players union, same with Rick Reed and some others.
  21. wtf fisk and thomas are b****es. frank hits .252 and expects to be one of the highest paid players in the game. fisk has trashed the white sox since he retired. f*** 'em both. not that i'm praising comiskey either, the f***ing twat wouldn't even pay to have the uniforms cleaned.

b**** b**** b**** why don't you go find something constructive to do
  23. 1. that ps2 screenshot is not the right proportion, that's why everything seems scrunched together. 2. screenshots on a computer never convey the real graphics, nor the framerate. 3. xbox may have better hardware, but that only makes microsoft lose more money on each console, about $100 every time they sell one. they think they'll make it up in software but i have yet to be impressed by any title besides halo.
  24. My point was not that you should take the word god out of your post. In fact, it doesn't really bother me one way or another, because I know you didn't mean God himself. (Though even if you did mean God himself it prolly wouldn't bother me then either.) The point is the same for "god damned" and "gay", both words have taken on different meanings. It is largely a generation thing too, I think. People in your parents' generation may have taken issue at you saying god damned, but nowadays it is not really noticed. I am guessing that WSFAN did not mean anything to do with homosexuality but we have had this discussion many times before.
