  1. Quite an ass-whooping the Jazz put on the Lake-show. I can't imagine that Utah on the second night of a back-to-back with San Antonio on the horizon Friday night is easy to deal with, but that was a weak display. Utah just took them apart all over the court, and L.A. couldn't keep up at all. They were two steps behind. To quote Bill Simmons, when did the Lakers become the Clippers?
  2. I keep on wondering, is anyone else really tired of this T-Mac commercial?
  3. Kobe just went nutty on AK-47. I don't wanna break out the J-Word but that reminded me of a certain guy who used to play for the Bulls. Oh and there goes Mihm picking up his fourth halfway through the third quarter. I knew he'd show up sooner or later.
  4. You misunderstand. My point wasn't that he will, or even that he could, be the next Big Smooth. My point was, for the tendencies he's exhibited in the past few years it would seem that his only option is to try and make a living 22 feet from the basket. He's obviously not in any hurry to develop many post moves.
  5. If Cook develops a 3 pointer he could be the next Sam Perkins. Other than that, what do you do with a 6-9 tweener with a solid baseline jumper who's afraid of contact? He's not the rebounding answer by any stretch. For rebounding you gotta look at Mihm, Grant (who's hurt now apparently), and Odom. Beyond that, I'm with you, they are thin.
  6. Oh definitely, that's what I loved about him. He's just dumb as a box of rocks, so it shocks me to see him play more than 5 minutes without picking up 3 fouls.
  7. I like Utah's hustle. Collapsing defense, offensive rebounding, that's how you take it to a team like this. They keep the pressure as a team, unlike Denver who just wandered around for 48 minutes.

I was hoping the fanta girls showed up and danced around.
  9. The Jazz unis look better this year at least. Less pastels, which is always good.
  10. New Jersey stinks, it'll be a loooooooooong season in the swamp. And Boston pissed me off, blew a 10 point lead in the fourth. Defense totally broke down, nobody could hit a free throw. Pierce back-rimmed a 3 to tie, but it shouldn't have come to that. Well anyway I'm happy for Jim O'Brien.

If someone ever ate my CD collection I would be rips***.
  13. And I suppose that all the Democrats around here calling the 51% who voted for Bush stupid ignorant rednecks, and who say they are ashamed of the south, well they are not dividing this country at all I guess?
  14. Being bitten in the leg is a pretty standard reaction to preaching in public.
  15. Are you kidding me, they won't give up the good life here. They care about politics until it inconviences them.

  17. -Peja 0-7 from 3. Ouch. -Doug Christie didn't play. -The Nuggets started really slow, looked lost on both ends of the court. Anytime you give up points to a Laker five like Tierre Brown, Kareem Rush, Brian Cook, Chris Mihm and Jumaine Jones, you have problems. -A lot of ugly shooting percentages, but that's to be expect for the first month or so.
  18. Looks like I made that call a little too early. :headshake
  19. I just wanna say, regardless of how it turns out, everyone contributed really well to this thread. There was a good amount of info, analysis, and satire, but nobody was even close to being out of control. You could have just read this thread without even watching the TV coverage (which I sometimes did) and had a good feel for what was going on any given moment. Solid job, folks.
  20. I don't know, I'm not in his head, but I thought it was a pretty tame response.
  21. I don't think his point was, "If you don't like how it works, then leave." But more like, "If you are afraid of being drafted, you could always go to Canada."
  22. Nah I do it too.
  23. Haha, Fox still hasn't given California to Kerry.
  24. Even if there was a draft it would be more specialized; computers, translating, etc.
  25. I am shocked by how convincingly Bush is winning the swing states like FL and OH.
