I think people just have no idea what real Red Sox fans are like. Yeah someone died in January during the "riot". There wasn't nearly as much of a police presence, and someone drove their car into a crowd, killing one man. That's why I think there needs to be police around for these things, but they need to remember that they're the ones with the body armor.

I hate both sides involved with these stupid riots. It's one thing to celebrate as a group, but everyone has to get stupid and destructive. I don't get the corellation between joy and making fires/flipping over cars. People need to be smarter and more responsible, though I know it will not happen. Not even after something like this. At the same time, I've been around these kinds of things before, not this year but last year when Boston finished off Oakland. The cops are so trigger-happy, they will not hesitate to beat up/arrest anyone who looks at them funny. It's like a mini-war breaks out every time something big happens.

That's what it seems like doesn't it. I thought after I came back from watching that game last night that I'd at least see some comments about how great a game it was, regardless of whether you hate the teams. Instead I see a bunch of garbage ripping on the fans (which means people were watching, despite what they had declared).

Are you people serious? You really think people look mentally anguished to get in the newspaper?? It couldn't have anything to do with being in a tie game in extra innings, on the brink of elimination against your rival or anything, naw. I'm sure all you people were just sitting all happy and content when the Mariners were about to eliminate the Sox in 2000.
