  1. QUOTE(zenryan @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would have said "resign." better than typing out all that stuff. Yeah - that's the answer. Genius.
  2. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've asked you several times and you've always side-stepped the issue. There's no search function on this board, so there's no real way to look through your post history. Keep side-stepping and dodging. Don't bother to actually defend your position. Fine by me. It was answered dude, it doesn't bother me if you find it or not. That is totally up to you. Find the thread that you asked it in and you will find the answer. It is there. It really isn't my problem if you ask something and then don't look for the response to it. Why would I answer it again for the same thing to happen? QUOTE(Wanne @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uhhhhhh...by altering their plate approach. By maybe getting them to take the multitude of outside curveballs and fastballs they've been seeing now due to scouting reports saying they can't do s*** with them, to right field. Obviously whatever he's been going over with them is either one of two things...Sox players are either 1. dumber than a box of rocks or 2. too stubborn to change. Do businesses keep managers and ceo's that can't right a business ship? No...they're fired and replaced with somebody who in turn can produce results with existing personel. It's not feasible to strip the whole team. Just doesn't happen. So then you think Walker is telling and teaching veteran hitters to lift and pull everything? I have seen and heard him say completely different. That is not the style he teaches from what he says. He has said many times that he wants the players to take the ball the other way and up the middle and not to worry about home runs as the home runs will come naturally. So how else is Walker supposed to go about this? What else can he do? You have to blame the hitters. As far as business - business and sports are completely different. Are business managers and CEO's allowed to wear hats and chew gum at meetings? How about spit sunflower seeds all over their office floors? Plus - no - exisiting personel is not always kept. If a new CEO is brought in the new CEO weeds out the unproductive people and gets rid of them. Not the whole team - of course not - but you can't keep looking at some of them hitting for power only and let it continue without doing something.
  3. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just thought the same thing. Just looked at Richar's player page on MILB.com. Get him up here, put him at SS, or start giving Gooch some time off. Instead of giving him time off - package him with Buehrle to the Mets and get Milledge, Pelfrey, and Martinez. Then start playing Richar, Milledge and Pelfrey immediately. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OFs are a hell of a lot easier to come by, than any infield prospects. We have NOTHING in the stable for 2nd or SS next year. Very good point - although I thought Chris Getz was someone that a lot had some hopes for.
  4. The dude sounds like he has a ton of upside. A 4 or 5 tool player in the middle infield? Sounds good to me. Why would the Diamondbacks want another OF prospect? It seems like they have a lot. Then again it seems like they have a lot of middle infielders that they converted to OFers, so I don't know.
  5. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well to me the team looks like it doesn't care and is just going through the motions. Everyone has their own opinion. I respect yours, and expect you to respect mine. I respect your opinion, but look at it realisitically. LF - started with Pods - now a rookie or a bench players as everyday. CF - started with Erstad - now a rookie or a bench player as everyday. 3B - started with Crede - now a rookie or bench player as everyday 3B. RF - Jermaine Dye went from MVP canidate to looking very old. SS - Uribe sucked last year and he sucks this year at least in 2005 he played outstanding defense. 2B - Iguchi is terrible defensively and can only hit in the 2 hole. Konerko -bad start seems to be coming around. Thome - solid. C - AJ is what he is. SP outstanding. Bullpen - Jenks and pray. Where again do you see the best talent in the AL? Realistically, where? If everyone remained healthy possibly, but really it's not. I would also like you to tell me who you think is laying down. I doubt the rookies and bench players are. I really don't think a ML player has it in the to just lay down - besides Gary Sheffield anyway. Now if you tell me there are certain players on this team that are just playing for themselves and not for the team then I would buy that and I believe that a lot more than if you said they were laying down.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm pretty sure most everyone would prefer to do that but it has nothing to do with what's happening this season. I don't think that is true. A lot of people here pine for the youngsters - they want to see the prospects. And when we trade prospects away - OH NO! The world has come to an end! I remember how many people were saying we gave up a s***load to get Garcia, and then Alomar, and then Everett, and then Thome, and then Vazquez. Some around here love the freakin' prospects. More times than not it works out when you are getting the ML player in return and not the prospects.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you keep Mark and lose him in FA, then be prepared for disappointment as well. Even if these prospects don't work out, I think they have a better chance of working out than somebody we'd draft 1st round/sandwich. Plus, they would ideally be much closer to MLB ready than somebody we would draft. I just said they can only do 2 things - sign him - or get as much as they can for him. So if they can't sign him they have to get as much as they can for him, right?
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why not get excited, these are young, talented players we're talking about here. The team on the field certainly isn't providing any entertainment, speculating about which prospects the Sox could receive in a deal and how they could help the team out over the next few seasons is pretty exciting. If Buehrle qualifies as a Type A free agent (which he will if he finishes off the season with a sub 4 ERA) then the Sox would have to offer Buehrle arbitration meaning the two sides would go to an arbitrator and submit a figure as to how much they feel Mark should make next season and whichever side the arbitrator picks, that's how much Buehrle would make for a 1 year contract. Since there ain't a chance in hell he would ever accept arbitration that means the Sox would receive compensation for the loss of their Type A free Agent which is the 1st round pick of the team that signs him (unless the pick is one of the first 15 in the draft then the Sox get a 2nd round pick which would be somewhere in the 50's or 60's) as well as a Sandwich pick between the first and second rounds. Get excited and be prepared - as you told me - to be VERY disappointed. Weren't the Sox players going to Seattle supposed to be good to great players? Where are they now? That could be VERY disappointing. The Sox can only do 2 things - get as much as they can for him - or sign him. That is it. You would rather want the prospects - and that is fine. I am just not very fond of prospects. I would rather trade my prospects away and get proven MLB players in return. That's just me. I am not suggesting that we can do that at this point in time. I am just stating what I would rather have.
  9. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So before the season you knew they were gonna be this bad?? You knew Dye was gonna look this bad after last year? Iguchi? Uribe? I see talent in the starting pitching. I see talent in Konerko, Thome, Dye, AJ, Iguchi. For you to ask where I see talent is ridiculous. There is talent all over this team, they just are playing like s***, and I truthfully believe they aren't playing hard. It's like they don't give a s***. Just going through the motions. It's been this way since last July, no heart and no intensity whatsoever. But to believe they were gonna be this bad before the season. I don't think anyone but Baseball Prospectus predicted this. I forgot about the bullpen. Our genius GM put that bullpen together himself. That was his baby. Did anyone know MacDougal was gonna implode? No. He has talent though. After the first month AArdsma was lights out, everyone was singing his praises, so he has to have some talent. Sisco sucks case closed there. Jenks, he is a stud. Logan as shown he can be valuable. Thornton has his moment, but he has talent. These guys have talent, it's just they aren't executing at all. Where did I say I knew? I said they obvisouly didn't know. However before the season the Sox had a LF and a CF, a RF coming off a MVP type season, a gold glove caliber 3B coming off of his breakout season, a relibale consistent 1B, and a pretty good 2B. I never liked Uribe, so yes I thought he already sucked major ass. Now we have the team that I showed you in my previous post. The team changed - it happens. Be realistic - this is as good as they are. YOu can't get by on only starting pitching Paul Konerko, Jim Thome, and AJ. Iguchi sucks ass as well - so don't even count on him. This is what he is. They are not close to the most talented team in the AL - NOT EVE CLOSE! I would never question anyone's heart or desire and I don't think you would want yours questioned either. Our genius GM had a good plan - the plan didn't work - but it looked good for the first month didn't it? Everyone was saying what a lights out bullpen they had. Now everyone is saying KW sucks for putting this bullpen together. None of them can throw consistent strikes. They have talent indeed. I am not saying they don't, but I wouldn't question that they are not trying, that they don't care, that they are just going through the motions, or that they don't have the desire. That is a f***ed up thing to say as I am sure you would never want that said about you.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I say it worked out just fine for the Mariners when they got Freddy Garcia and Carlos Guillen for Randy Johnson or for the Indians when they got Cliff Lee and Grady Sizemore for Bartolo Colon. Good luck getting established, young, major league talent from a team in contention in exchange for a pending free agent, it ain't gonna happen. The one thing you can get this time of year are near major league ready high end prospects. A team like the Mets who are in first place aren't going to be giving up any of their talented, young players when they're looking to win a world series. If you're expecting major league talent to be brought in before the break then you're likely going to be VERY disappointed with the return for Dye and Buehrle. How often do the Indians and Mariner trades work out that way? Carlos Guillen was ok, but wasn't as good as he is now until he went to the Tigers. Brandon Phillips (franchise) was the main piece in the Colon trade and that didn't work out well. Prospects are just that. We could end up being VERY disappointed - you are VERY right on that one. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I personally want Carlos Beltran, but I think their GM might say no to that. All I am saying is some of you people pine over and love prospects. Some of you want this whole team to go young. I think that could be VERY disappointing, as Kalapse put it, for everyone. Supposedly that was a hell of a lot that the Sox gave up for Garcia - yet none of it panned out. VERY dissappointing indeed.
  11. OK Bob - but how do you know what Gavin Floyd is? How do you know he is not a 200 IP 15 Win guy? I hope he is and rubs your face in it. How do you know they aren't marketing Ozzie's name in Ven.? It sounds like you know what is going on, but yet you couldn't possibly.
  12. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No one is saying that is the answer. No one is absolving the players from responsibility -- they are receiving plenty of criticism on this board. You keep making up strawmen because there's no valid defense of Greg Walker at this point. Please, answer the question you keep avoiding: When is the hitting coach responsible? Under what circumstances should they be fired? Do they bare no responsibility for having the worst offense in baseball? I did answer this when someone else - or possibly you - asked it. I am not going to repeat it. Find it and quit wasting my time. By the way - see Eddie Murray - twice - those are examples of when you get fired. Save it for Soxfest and ask Kenny Williams. Maybe drop him an email. Hell, you never know, he may send you the job description and a application form. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Remember when the Indians fired Murray as their hitting coach? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after they fired Murray, didn't they go on an offensive rampage for the rest of the season? Hmmmm... Different situation isn't it? Hmmmm. Plus Eddie Murray is garbage mope of a human being. He only gets hired because of what he did as a player. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 09:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You avoided the question again. You said it won't help, so in other words, we're right back where we are now with one s***ty offense. Where's the hurt? Like I said - you want a cosmetic change - a change for the sake of change - something to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside - but yet nothing is changed. It will be the same. It obviously can't make the worst offense in the league even worse - so of course it can't hurt - but if it doesn't help why do it? That is the main question. Just so some obnoxious fans can think that something is happening? That seems very silly to me. I would rather want to help this team than to not hurt it. Get some new players to make sure change and help is on the way.
  13. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Listen, I'm just stating my opinion, and the opinions of some other Sox fans that I know. To me and them the team looks like it has no heart or fight in them. That's what I believe. Whether you choose to believe that is up to you. As for how much better I think this team is, there is no denying this is one of the most talented teams in the AL. They just aren't playing like it. I'm sure KW and Ozzie didn't think this team would perform like this. They are underachieving big time. They should be alot better than they are now, because right now they are flat out embarrassing!! One of the most talented teams? What is in the bullpen? SS Uribe, LF - nothing! CF - nothing! 2B - Iguchi. RF - OLD LOOKING DYE! 3B - rookie. Where do you see talent? How is this even close to the most talented team in the AL? It's not! I'm sure they weren't thinking the team would perform like this or that they would have the injuries that occurred - but guess what - they are and they did. This team is not what you thought they were. This is the best that they are - they are not better. I am sure evey player is trying their hardest to be better - unfortunately as a team they are not - this is it. You and the other Sox fans that think they aren't should look at it realistically and understand that. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ozzie hinted the players were laying down. Where? When?
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I overreactions. Please keep em coming, it makes my day. All I was saying is that McCarthy would be a much better pitcher this season if he pitched in a ballpark which suited his tendecies. He's a flyball pitcher, he's not going to do well in HR parks such as in Texas and the Cell. Put him in a pitchers park such as Seattle however, and the numbers would be much improved. In fact after his horrid April, B-Mac had a 3.55 ERA in May and in 1 start so far this month (he's had a blister problem) he only gave up 1ER. But oh no, B-Mac is horrible and he's never going to amount to anything good!!!!!!!! This is not to say I have not been impressed with what John Danks has brought to the table mind you. I know you love overreactions because you are the king of them as your quote would tell you: All-star - HA HA! Hey Rock - didn't I tell you that someone could manipulate the stats. Here is your example.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In 2004 when the Garcia deal was made Reed was the 25th rated prospect by BA. At the time he was traded in '04 Olivo was a 25 year old catcher putting up a .270/.316/.496/.812 line for the season, pretty damn good especially for a very young catcher with his arm strength. I can't find it online but I believe Morse was a top 6-7 prospect in the Sox' system that year. That's a pretty decent hall right there. 1 top #25 prospect who's pretty much major league ready, an up an coming major league talent and a raw but talented high up side prospect. And how did that work out? And you guys want prospects? Nice.
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 07:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From the Newark Stark Ledger; Some names to consider here; Lastings Milledge - People know all about his talent. Hitting .333/.372/.436 in the PCL. Certainly attainable. Mike Pelfrey - Had a few starts for the Mets this season but hasn't produced with an ERA over 6 in 5 starts. So they might be down on him and he could be had. Phillip Humber - 7-5, 4.87 ERA in the PCL. Again not great, and he's had injury problems before. Still he's got excellent stuff if he can stay healthy. Fernando Martinez - Was the Mets #1 rated prospect going into this season by John Sickels ahead of Pelfrey and Humber. For Binghamton in AA has numbers of .268/.336/.366. Has great tools and is only 18, apparently just needs refinement. Carlos Gomez - Just been called up by the Mets. Played in 25 games, splits of .250/.269/.328. Has excellent tools, but there are questions about his power. Now these would be the 5 guys I would target. I'd want 2 MINIMUM out of this group, and I think closer to the deadline, if the Mets get desperate (and we might have to add a piece), we could maybe get 3, but we would be very lucky to do so. MIlledge, Pelfrey, and Martinez for Buehrle and Iguchi. Deal done.
  17. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have no problem with North and this interview. He asked the question about what the plan is for the next couple series, and if the plan was to lay down. I have no problem with that question at all. I would have asked the exact same question in that situation. And I know alot of SOX fans feel the same. This team has layed down. There is no fight in them at all, no heart, nothing. I watch alot of baseball and in my eyes they are the worst team in baseball. They look like they are just going through the motions and collecting a paycheck. And I love the part where North says, "sorry for ruining your off day, but you guys have been ruining everyday for the fans" I love that. Call him and the whole team out, they deserve it for the way they attempt to play baseball. It is not the question he asked - he made a statement about a team laying down. No matter how fans perceive it I am sure they are not laying down and that is a f***ed up thing to say. It was unprofessional and an instigating remark to make. He knew what he was doing when he said it. He is out for himself and only himself. He wants to see his name in the paper and his sound bites played around the nation. That is all he cares about. He is a freakin' jerk off and he deserved to be called that. How would you react if someone said that to you and your performance even though you were trying your best. How do you know ther is no fight or no heart - maybe this is the best this team is. Maybe that is all they have and all they can do. What you perceive by watching it on TV and from the stands is most likely not the case. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did WSCR not give money to Soxtalk when it came calling? Jeez, whenever Mike North is involved, this board always takes the other side. Like with the Ozzie situation as well. I love the Sox, but every day its another situation where the players, staff, management act like immature jerks. Grow up and play baseball better. All these ills will be relieved. How much better do you think this group of players can play? I think this is it. They can't play any better. This is the best they can do. We need better players.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW and the front office would show me that they care by firing the hitting coach. This performance is inexcusable. Somebody has to take the fall. It's true Walker can't bat for them, but if they're not listening to him, what is the point of having him as a coach? Somebody has to take the fall? How about the crap players? How about trading the crap away. You and I have no idea what is going on behind closed doors, if they like Walker, if they are listening to him, what the hell is going on. Other coaches and management and players know and that is for them to decide - not a freaking fan that doesn't have a clue. Suggest a fix sure, but I don't see how that fixes anything. I really don't. Getting different players that have a different style of hitting fixes things for sure. QUOTE(Wanne @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's a good question is if he's not teaching it...why isn't he fixing it? That's his job. How do you want him to fix it? Are you suggesting he isn't going through tape with them or working them out in the cages? Are you suggesting he isn't telling them to do different things? These are veteran players with those swings. You fix it by getting differen players in here with different approaches. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 11:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This very question has probably been asked on all 29 pages of this thread now, but has yet to receive an answer. So when Walker gets replaced by Manny Trillo our hitters are going to start turning everything around? You think that is the answer. The point is that it won't help. He will be working with the same exact group of hitters. You need different hitters, not different coaches. You are asking for a cosmetic change to make you feel better about the team. I am asking for a real change. Start getting rid of some of these jamoke players and you can start with Uribe. You can flat out release Jerry Owens as he has no value at all. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 12:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So who are some possible candidates to take over if Walker's head is indeed on the chopping board? I would bet it would be Manny Trillo. Why would you want that? I have no idea. However, it is a different voice - it is a change.
  19. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been calling for Walker's head since the end of April. It ceases to amaze me how this organization just does not give a s***. Fire him already. Yeah, firing the hitting coach shows that they care. How about trading away some of this crap and getting something in return. That would show me they care, not firing the hitting coach.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Out of 23 batters faced he's only walked 2. It must be a lot more difficult to walk batters in the minors.
  21. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It MIGHT help in several ways. The new coach would bring a fresh perspective and might see flaws that Walker and the Sox have not seen. Baseball is mostly mental. A slumping player who has tried to fix their slump repeatedly with Walker, may see a new coach as a new opportunity to improve. It gives them new hope. As we know, there are many ways to approach hitting. Walker's methods are not working, so try something else. It also sends a message to the players and other coaches to start producing or you could be next no matter who you are or how nice you are. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than selling the farm for another hitter or losing a ton in lost ticket sales for a summer full of underachieving prospects and veterans going through the motions. This move should have been made a month ago and I do not appreciate the Sox not doing everything they could have done to produce an winning team. Look at the players career stats, then look a this year. The bullpen has sucked too. Which is easier replacing one coach who may improve the whole teams hitting or replacing the bullpen? So you think a new guy - most likely a guy promoted from within because that is what the Sox do - would have a different approach or method? It seems like the whole organization has the same approach. When have you ever seen this work? Through all of your years of watching baseball how often has firing a hitting or pitching coach turned arounda team? It is a move to mostly appease fans so that it looks like they are trying to change things and get things done, yet things remain the same. It is a change for change sake and not really a change at all. It is artificial, a front, a covering.
  22. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm going to put in a word for North here. And I'm not talking about his work with Ozzie or AJ -- just with Cooper. I didn't hear the interview, but I've heard quite a few that North has done with Cooper before. They actually have a great, no BS rapport -- they've gone after each other, and not taken it personally, quite a few times. North is no doubt a jerk, but his stuff with Cooper is almost always entertaining -- and as a Sox fan, I generally feel that it's good therapy. Basically, North cuts to the chase -- none of that typical sportscaster "What can you guys do to improve?" stuff. And Cooper's a tough New York guy (who's been paid for this weekly appearance for 2 years, by the way), and he doesn't back down. One other point: North is many things, and many of them not good. I don't agree with his politics, and he's often a bit of lunkhead. But my long-held view -- backed even by some in the industry and not fans of his -- is that he is a very good interviewer. He gets people to be candid in a way that they generally aren't. Just my 2 cents. This interview was not like the others at all. This was very insulting.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Too bad for the team. I have a question for you. How do you evaluate a hitting coaches job. Last in all of the major leagues for 2 1/2 months. I mean the Dodgers canned their hitting coach for performance and to shake things up. They have 100 more hits, 20 more doubles, are hitting over 20 points more than us. They play in a huge pitchers park that stymies offense, and they have no DH. Nope, too bad for you. It doesn't seem as if the team has a problem with Walker - you do. I answered this question already the last time you asked it. If you want to know my response go find it the last time I answered it. I am not saying that Walker doesn't deserve some blame, but to think that someone new is going to turn it around is ridiculous. This is a group of veteran players. I have a question for you. Where do you get the idea Walker is teaching the lift and pull approach? Can you tell me where and when he speaks of this. When I hear him speak of hitting he is telling guys to go the other way or hit it up the middle and not to worry about power and home runs because they will come. You keep making these statements, yet I never hear him talk about it and I never see it written anywhere else that he teaches this. It seems to be a made up message board thing that you seemed to have latched on to and won't let go. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sometimes, KW is just too stubborn or JR is to loyal. I can not believe that Walker has not been fired yet or give him a different position in the organization. Hell Walk, resign. Walker is probably a great guy, and this may not even be his fault but you have to make a change. This is/was such an inexpensive way to possibly make/could have made a difference this year. Fire him anyway so he doesn't screw up any of the prospects that will be playing from July on. It just really pisses me off as a Sox fan. Tell me, how would this change have drastically affected the team? I don't get what you people see or have seen over the years to make you think that this would have changed or can change anything. Do you think he is not doing his job? Bringing a bad attitude to the park? Not going over film? Not talking to players? Not getting extra work in if needed? What is it? Do you think this guy is a mope jerk like Eddie Murray? What do you think will or would have changed if Walker was fired? By firing Walker you are basically telling your players that it is not their fault - the hitting coach was at fault. By keeping him you are making the hitters accountable for their actions.
  24. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Change is never easy, but sometimes it is necessary, and we feel that this is the best thing right now to help the team win," Dodgers manager Grady Little said in a club statement. "Our offense hasn't lived up to our expectations, and no one person is responsible for the results we've had this season. I have the utmost respect for Eddie Murray as a person and as a professional, and I wish him nothing but the best." The Dodgers have posted a .261 team batting average, sixth in the National League, with 288 runs scored, tied for seventh in the league. They're tied for 14th in home runs with 52, and they rank 15th in slugging percentage at .383. Makes you wonder how the f*** Greg Walker still has a job!!! It is a totally different situation. Supposedly Eddie Murray was never a good fit there. It makes me wonder more why Eddie Murray keeps getting fired. What is he doing?
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so the almost 6 ERA and the 1.57 WHIP is because of the defense? I wonder if the defense has anything to do with his only 31k's to his 25 walks. hmmmm Not only is it because of his defense and the ballpark he plays in, but he would be a FREAKIN' ALL-STAR if he played in Seattle. WOWIE WOW! BMAC love at its finest. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> stats-wise, Danks is way better than BMAC. I am sure there are certain stats that can be manipulated to make BMAC better in certain areas, but I really don't know. I am not a huge stat guy.
