And I guess 09 is at the Cardinals new stadium???

WGN and my love of Chicago ever since I was a kid is probably why. I used to watch Sox and Cubs game on the television when I was young, developed into a Bulls fan and a Bears fan and well the rest was history. My love of the city came from visiting it a couple times as a wee lad (my mom is from the southside and we still have family in the burbs). I still say its the only big city I could ever even consider living in.

I'm glad Crede has signed quickly as the Sox now can focus on tearing that deal up and giving him a new one that sets himself up for the rest of his life. Remember, having Joe signed makes him even easier to move (especially at this figure in 07 with teams knowing they still have the rights to him in 08).

This show was absolutely amazing. Wow. I don't get how they can keep doing it, but they find a way. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 05:54 AM) SPOILER alert!!!!!! Damn it! I loved Curtis. Boy, when you work on this show, you must be afraid reading your script knowing you're probably going to get whacked. I was stunned when he died.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 07:08 PM) WTF, is there a right or wrong answer? Hell, either way he's still an option to outplay Brewster in practices and camps which could create a tough call for the coach. 3 star vs. 2 star - who cares? Either way there are 2 *** and a couple ** to compete with Brewster. Green Jacket, Yellow Jacket...who gives a s***.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Perhaps I'm the only one like this but for football (unlike baseball) I can't be distracted by things like laptops and game threads and such, I tend to do a lot of gestating, punching and screaming, the game needs my full attention. Baseball on the other hand I can just sit back with my laptop and bulls*** in a game thread about how s***ty the Sox are playing. I'm weird like that. Ya, football games get my full attention (plus I'm usually at the bar, unless its nationally televised) and playoff games get me to go crazy. I must have lost a pound or two from yesterdays game just from all the running and jumping around I did (oh and my voice is toast today).

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 10:25 AM) mlbtraderumors.com basically covered it all... That was all Gammons said. I don't see this happening, with or without Uribe here. I could see the Sox interested, however, I don't expect anything to happen since Uribe will play. And no, I don't think it would be just Aybar for Crede.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) Meh, I agree with you that Rex doesn't deserve that INT in his stats, but I simply don't see that being worth it. Numbers can matter in the NFL, but it's no where close to where they are in baseball. So I never see it being debated. Plus you have to factor the fact that QB's will throw balls that should be picked but get dropped so I think it all evens out in the end.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) How far fetched is a Saints fix? Trust me, while its a great story...the Bears being back in the Super Bowl would be better for ratings. Its going to be one heck of a game and I'd think the line would be pretty much even (just because the Bears are the home team) otherwise I think the Saints would be favored on a neutral field. I'd be more confident but I still have a lot of questionmarks about our defense and offensively we are going to have to have a real crisp and well executed game out of Grossman and the entire unit (since the Saints can flat out score).

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 12:32 AM) It's not. You're looking at the old CAAT. Somehow it was, but I unlocked it last night when I saw this post.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 07:21 AM) Brand New's latest album is great. Lot of good songs on there. Ya, I had been complaining about it, but turns out I had a demo version and the real version is top notch, very top notch.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) I really liked the first season of "Men Behaving Badly". Then they changed almost the entire cast around Rob Schneider and it really sucked. That first season was gold. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) I really enjoyed the one season of Playmakers. Yet again, fantastic.

QUOTE(Gage Loves Me @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) Solid win by the Rangers this afternoon. 3-1 over the Bruins. Rangers vs. Blackhawks on Feb. 18 at the Garden. Can't wait for that game. First the Wings will feed off the Hawks, than the Rangers. Poker tonight apparently.

QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) i really liked ben kweller when sha sha came out. It really was one of those high school albums. BUt man his last two albums have been beyond disappointing. The new one i could barely get through. except for this is war, that was a goodie This is war is awesome. I've just been listening to various things of Kweller and I give him credit for kind of going with the classic rock genre. Some of his songs are a bit poppy but its still a nice change of pace, imo.

Best(non-World Series) and worst all time White Sox moment.
Chisoxfn replied to ChiSoxLifer's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(ChiSoxLifer @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) Right off the top of my head it's the game where Bevington went to bring in a relief pitcher and didn't have anyone warming up. The white flag trade while only 3 1/2 games out of first place ranks right up there. Other than the 10/26/2005, my favorite memory is Bo Jackson, after coming back from hip replacement surgery, hitting a game winning, pinch hit home run versus the Mariners to clinch the '93 division. Worse...Angel/Sox game with about a 19-1 outcome in favor of the Angels. In addition I'd say the Jose Paniagua game was quiet the debacle (even though we won). Best moments...being at the ALCS games in Anaheim (technically non world series) as well as that Dodgers/Sox game where the Sox came back to beat the Dodgers with AJ's walkoff hit. -
Chris Stewart Traded to Texas for RHP John Lujan
Chisoxfn replied to CanOfCorn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) I suppose Stewart became more expendable with Toby on the roster, but Lujan seems like a total project, and Stewart would have been nice to have around if AJ or Toby went down for some insurance. It's clear Lujan has far more upside, but the C spot seems like an odd area for the Sox to deal away. We have a backup for the next couple years and a starter for a couple years. Chris Stewart was never going to be a starter and as such we had a superior backup in Hall on the roster. That means by the time a bench spot opens up both Lucy/Hernandez will likely be waiting in the wings (maybe not as starters but for a spot) so there was absolutely no point in keeping Stewart. The fact that we got an insane arm out of the deal to boot is a mega coup. Kenny is as shrewd as any GM in baseball when it comes to deals like this and I am a believer that you can never have too many arms like this in your system and quite frankly I think this could turn into a steal (and since I never think Stewart will be more than a backup, I see little downside in this deal considering our current options at catcher at the ML level). -
Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread

Wow...we've had some awful games as of late. Should have won at least 4 of them and instead have lost 5 of 6. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 08:03 PM) Now that I think about it, Iowa Asst. Craig Neal could be a solid candidate. He's from Washington, IN, about 45 minutes from Evansville. Maybe they can hire him quick enough to have him talk Tyler Zeller into staying "home" and turning the program around? Okay, a pipe dream maybe, but an interesting thought. Thinking a bit more on it, the best choices I can think of right now are: 1. Craig Neal 2. Marty Simmons 3. Brad Brownell 4. Lennox Forrester Forrester is a Bradley assistant who was on Jim Crews Evansville staff for 10 years. Forrester came to Evansville from an Oklahoma JC highly heralded. He was injured before he ever played a game at UE and never played for them. Crews kept him on scholarship and gave him a grad assistantship. He stayed on staff for 10 years. I remember meeting Lennox at a part the night of his recruiting visit. We talked for about 20 minutes, so I will take all the credit in the world for success so far. ;-) No, you can't have Craig Neal. He's our superstar recruiting and Alfords right hand man. -
Diggin Ben Kweller right now. Its a much more oldie sound for new music and its a nice change of pace.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) You know, I'd really like to be interested in soccer, but the MLS games that I have watched just don't do it for me. I know that they have a Fox Sports channel that you can order as a package, but I really wish someone (other than ESPN Deportes) picked up some of the European league soccer games. I'd love to catch a Madrid/Barcelona or Chelsea/Arsenal game, but they're rarely on. Also, boo Fifa Soccer 2007 for 360 for only carrying six leagues. Fox Sports World is a part of a lot of digital cable packages and has a lot of premiership games on. I usually wake up to them early in the morning and watch them a bit (especially Saturday mornings now that there is now college football to wake up too).

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 05:54 AM) Him and (my guess) 80% of the rest of the MLB players, I'll toss in there any professional sports player, don't take responsibility, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Heck, even outside of professional sports you have people all over the world blaming everyone else but themselves for problems/situations they get into (I'm not really talking about major problems, even something stupid like someone getting in trouble for not showing up in time....blaming traffic or there friend or whatever).

Ya and I've seen some crazy videos with guys and gals doing some pretty cool snowboarding tricks.

So per year he is going to make ~ 20 million more than the rest of the league. Wow.
