  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) i got those AA seats once in '03, 3 hours before an august monday game. It was the only time I've ever had first row, so cool. Carlos Lee ran over to our section for a foul ball, reached right next to me and caught it. He didn't give me the ball, I was dissapointed. I wouldn't have either
  2. Really appreciate the recap G&T
  3. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 09:51 AM) question... If you don't owe anything, do you have to file? Even if you don't owe anything (assuming you worked) you still have to file. If you have no income thats another story.
  4. You all have to remember the market has changed since urlacher signed his deal. If they were both FA's today Briggs would not get as much money as Urlacher, however, a contract similar to Urlachers is about going price for a guy of Briggs caliber.
  5. QUOTE(bigredrudy @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 08:13 AM) What do you know about Orlando. Does anyone have a scouting report? He's got some tools. Don't know a ton about him cause none of my contacts have seen him play until now (I don't know anyone thats been around the dominican summer league). But he's good good speed and I believe the Sox feel he'll develop some pop. I think the Sox are going to really like this guy.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 12:10 AM) They could move Sean Smith to LF (since he's hitting over .300, doing a fairly good job so far) for Dane Cook to let Orlando hit in CF. But I would like to see what Orlando could do in high A ball. I think it's fair to say he's too good for low A ball already. I think its too early to say that at this point. Guys have hot streaks. Thats like saying Chris Shelton is too good for the majors after 2 weeks.
  7. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Yes.. I have a Rowand Jersey. Yes I like his ethic, but is he in the top 6 CF's in the game... NO! Defensively...easily....offensively, probably not. Sizemore Jones Hunter Edmonds Beltran Those are 5 guys I'd no doubt take over Rowand (money being equal). I'm sure there are at least a few more, but thats adding offense into the equation.
  8. Considering how he hit the 2nd part of last season, I am quite surprised it took him this long to find a spot. He hit with some power late in the year for the Tigers. Had to at least make a few organizations think he had finally figured things out (lets not forget he was pretty damn talented back when he was in the Athletic's system).

    Easter Dinner

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) I'm thinking Nachos and a Polish for my dinner tomorrow. Is that kind of like some sort of squash? I love squash.

    Easter Dinner

Every easter one of my best friends folks throw a huge easter bash (mainly for his younger brothers) but we all go over. They bbq as well as cook a ham and his mom is a baker so there are pies and cookies everywhere. Usually we play a football game in the early afternoon and than eat like pigs before finishing off the evening/afternoon with a short game of bruiser ball (basically its basketball on my buddies ghetto hoop which is like 9 feet tall) and than bust out the video games. I'm still a kid at heart.
  11. Everett had 2 hits today and had one awful baserunning play but the M's pounded the Red Sox. s***ty defense was the story of the game for Boston. Between Bard doing an awful job catching Wakefield and Willy Mo Pena not knowing how to judge a fly ball it just wasn't a pretty day for BoSox fans.
  12. QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Sorry I had to whip this out ...
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:41 AM) I must have missed those quotes, because I don't remember them. I'll take your word for it though. He was very clear about how close he was to joining the Halos.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) I think they've been trying that for a year or two now. They've got Boof Bonser down at AAA and the likes of Glen Perkins (think that's his name) down at AA. Some excellent SP prospects. Is Perkins doing good? He's the local boy they drafted out of Minnesota right (1st round pick from the Gophers). Pretty solid lefty when he was with the Gophers. Of course I saw the Titans freaking DRUB him one game. Therefor, so can the Sox
  15. I should add, Malone still is good enough to become a major leaguer, but I have major doubts considering he's never learned to PITCH. Chris Kelly and Lucy are both raking. Two relatively high picks that have been dissapointments (Lucy more than Kelly) who have really jumped out of the gates.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) Thats great seeing Malone give up no walks.... he has great stuff if he can just find the strike zone consistently. He doesn't have that great of stuff anymore. He did do pretty good last season considering he was coming back from a serious arm injury.
  17. QUOTE(chisoxt @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 05:03 AM) I think that I noticed his problem in general...While he has great stuff, he seems to more of a thrower than a pitcher in that on rare instances does he ever pitch inside. Last night, on an outside pitch, Troy Glaus hit an opposite field run-scoring double, that in my opinion, changed the momentum of the game. Hawk was commenting on how filfthy the pitch was and how you had to give Glaus credit. This may be true, but there was no way that Glaus could have gotten to that pitch had Vasquez done a better job with his locations of the previous pitches, which were away, away and away. Great post. I've yet to watch enough of Vazquez to be able to agree or disagree with this statement, but from the sounds of your description it sounds pretty right on. It also sounds to me like we'll be able to get things turned. Cooper has reiterated that exact point to ever member of this staff. Coop gets his pitchers to pitch agressively and confident and he'll get Javier throwing the ball inside a lot more.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) HE GAWN Bad bad inning though. Down 2-0, Buehrle throws 25 pitches Was it that bad, 2 infield hits and a HR? Or was he getting hit hard the whole time or something?
  19. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) I'm in the same boat, except my cable provider doesn't carry WGN so I won't see tomorrow's game either. And I thought I had it bad. Whats worse is that its part of the MLB Package its just our cable providers are showing NHL games instead.
  20. This is such f***ing bulls***. My Cable provider has NHL and MLB on the same channels so because of that the Sox game isn't going to be on Xtra Innings. This is f***ing BULLs***. Two straight games.
  21. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Kannapolis Intimidators Pos: CF DoB: 11-01-1985 Ht: 6'3" Wt: 165 Bats: R Throws: R Mr. Orlando is shrouded in mystery, perhaps because his name in was originally Pablo? The only news article I could find on him from his home country of Brazil (which is no longer available) referred to him as Pablo. -- Anyway, he goes by Paulo now. Let's just hope it's not one of those age-gate, or Jario Garcia Santiago Casilla situations. I heard that was played in one of the Dominican Summer Leagues for the Sox last season, but I can't find any stats on him from there. I've only seen him bat once, turning what should have been a routine DP into a FC with his speed. He would later score from first on a double squirted down the right field line. From the 360 feet that I've seen him run, I think he's the fastest player in the White Sox system. He has started his professional career in America with a 7 game hitting streak (still active) that includes 2 doubles, 2 triples, and a HR. Hey Gene Orlando batted .322 with 7 2b’s and 3 3b’s for the Dominican team.
  22. I hate WCIU and this year I don't have access to mlb.tv
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) podcast? Ya, if you have any questions for how or why we have someone where we are or if you think we really screwed the pooch and left someone off our list, ask us and we'll respond in a podcast show we will be doing focusing on our top 25 (just for some more commentary talking about how we came up with the list and who barely made the list). Hell there are times where we get in debates about who should be where and eventually someone gets slotted where maybe 2 or 3 think he should be, but 1 doesn't or vice versa. We also have some guys that we thought were close to making the list (guys like Gomes) but decided its best to hold off because they have yet to prove anything. Also I want to note too many people look at A level guys and give them these high ceilings and call them better than AA or AAA guys just because those AA and AAA guys have probably found there ceiling (which could just be a potential avg major leaguer) but those minor league guys get highly touted when in all reality there ceilnig probably won't be higher, if not lower than those AA or AAA guys.
