  1. Hudson' missed some starts with a strained left stomach muscle. He was back in the beginning of August. He was placed on the DL at the end of June. Hudson's 3 year splits show that his ERA is .76 worse away from home. Home: 2.69 Road: 3.45 Not too shabby. Also, he just gave up 8 homers in 188 innings this past season.
  2. Check that Mulder had a surgery on his hip in 2003. It was technically a stress frecture near his right hip that caused him to miss part of the 2003 season. Last season he was absolutely dominant through the first half of the season and then something happened cause he was brutal down the stretch.
  3. I think its Mulder who had the hip problem. One question I have is whether Mulder is still out their. He's signed to a pretty darn affordable deal for next year as well and is a Sox fan.
  4. Quick question. What was the injury that held out Hudson for part of the season this year? He had pitched an absolute boatload of innings entering this past season. Byrnes would be such a good pickup though. If the Sox are dealing Lee I hope they get him as well.
  5. Start at Lee and the Braves just don't have the pitcher to offer along with Furcal, imo.
  6. Ya, I also heard it could be as much as 20 million. This is not a move that excites me. 10 mill a year is too much for Finley. His average and strikeouts aren't something to brag about. As an Angel fan I think they are going the wrong direction yet again. They should be focusing on pitching and a middle infielder/Beltran.
  7. Hell I'm one of those fans that likes to see players laughing and having fun. I think a more relaxed player is a better one and a fun one to watch. Thats what I always remember about the 2000 season. The players were always smiling, laughing, and having fun.
  8. If the Sox got Byrnes and Hudson for Lee, Anderson and anyone but Bmac and Sweeney (from the minors) then fine by me. I love Brynes. Guy is a great defensive player and a pretty good top of the order guy. Speedy Gonzalez too.
  9. Nah, he'll probably look at Bmac and oh man will I flip if him or any of the top prospects are dealt. If Kenny can find a 3rd team in that would have some use for Konerko and then Anderson and say Diaz are involved. I don't know who the 3rd team is. But say the Sox give up those three, A's get Anderson and Giles (just a suggestion, they could look at other teams) and the Braves pick up Konerko and Diaz (maybe a little cash) then who knows. I should say I don't think Atlanta does this, but their could be a 3rd team out their somewhere.
  10. Personally I'd :puke That would be drastically overpaying. Carlos Lee is a stud offensive player. One whose young and will be under contract next year at a fair price (9 mill or so). If they deal Lee I already think its near mandatory that they lock up Huddy.
  11. Joel Pineiro and Randy Wynn would make some sense. The question is whether Pineiro is healthy and I'd rather make the offer around Paul Konerko. Also Seattle is supposedly one of the front-runners for Pavano. Carlos Lee is so underrated and if Kenny doesn't get full value for him (which in my mind is a hell of a lot) then I'll be worried. He's way more capable of filling for Maggs then Konerko or Thomas or anyone else on this offense.
  12. I am nervous when Lee's name comes up in trade talks cause I think he's an All Star. If they get Hudson they better be serious about locking him up.
  13. Who knows, but they are making some foolish moves. ESPN said 3yr 27 million. WOWZERS
  14. Interesting, the only problem is I see the terms a package of players. Personally I think Lee should be good enough to get the Sox Tim Hudson.
  15. I just want to quickly point something out. Sec, who posted that rumor, is one of the original posters from Soxtalk so their could potentially be something to it. The Sox are looking for a 2nd baseman, and their could be some logic to the deal. Especially since I remember reading Texas was talking with a few 1st baseman/DH.
  16. Hey Sec...long time no see. You hear this somewhere or are you simply speculating? Personally I'm a Soriano fan. Its also kind of intriguing at the very least cause it gives the Sox a 2 hole hitter. Only flaw is the Rangers seem pretty set with Tex and Blalock, plus they have a very very good first base propect in the minors in Adrian Gonzalez (I think thats his name). However, I guess Konerko could technically DH and I know I read somewhere that the Rangers were negotiating with a couple first baseman.
  17. I guess we'll see what happens in this mornings edition. But the Dye move deserves to be a front page move, especially since the Cubs had their news a couple days ago. But then again I don't usually pay much attention to the headlines. I figure if the Sox do things right, the Trib won't be able to hold them back cause they'll finally make the series.
  18. I dunno, Yankee stadium can be really nice for left handed hitters. But that beauty is cancelled out by the deep power alleys for righties.
  19. Haha, we sure read that the same way
  20. I still say part of the horrid numbers this past season stem from the Sox pitching staff being lousy and the offense containing a lot of power.
  21. Ya, Maggs is trying ot win back the fans, but at this point I know the offer that was on the table and Its quite obvious the relationship the Sox and Boras have, so its quite obvious Maggs had no desire of coming back to the Sox. From the sounds of it, it all stems from the botched Nomar deal from the offseason. Seems like after that he figured the Sox didn't want him. I don't think that was ever the case, until he rejected a more then fair proposal (one of which would be close to being able to land Beltran right now; other then it would have to be about 2 years longer).
  22. Remember though, their is some talk of the fences moving back by as early as the start of this season.
