alot teams after lee and konerko
Agreed, RJ is the only exception to that rule (at least for me), but even then I'd much rather see Konerko go. To be honest I'd deal Konerko and the entire farm system for RJ. He's that good. It means everyone shifts down in the rotation and wowzers does it send a message to the city of chicago, the fans of the Sox, and to the players. It also could lure a veteran or two to the southside because they (get this) want to play for a winner. I believe if the Sox acquire Johnson then you see payroll move around 80 million. They probably extend his deal as well.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Trailer
Personally that War of the Worlds remake sounds really cool.

Rumors thread
They won't non-tender him, they'll deal him. Jones has pretty good trade value and thats most likely the route they will go. I don't expect him to be a Twin next year, with or without Koskie.

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
Bob is one of the better ones in the business and If I recall he used to cover the Sox in some capacity so I'm sure he still has contacts within the organization. I'm with Ian, you pick up RJ all of a sudden you look for the Sox to fill whatever hole they created with a smaller fa pickup or along the nontender route, imo. RJ puts the league on notice and creates a buzz the southside hasn't had in FOREVER.

alot teams after lee and konerko
Sounds to me just the opposite. That he mainly had some initial talks but that he's going to go the trade route.

Rumors thread
I'm not much of a fan Washburn but he is a decent pitcher.

Simple, he's one of the very few options that gets him out of Arizona.

A's Deal Hudson
Scanned through the stations and have heard nothing but football talk thus far. Chargers talk on one station, Raiders on the other.

Rumors thread
Ya I'd say their is a chance at that. But right now I think there is a better chance that Washburn, Molina, Kochman and someone else are sent to LA for Randy Johnson. Also I think Varitek signs with the Angels.

A's Deal Hudson
For those thinking its not done, we should know in about 20 minutes. The Dodgers called for a 4 O'Clock press conference.

Rumors thread
I disagree in the sense that I think Clement is one of the better pitchers out there. I'm a huge Clement fan and he's going to be a good AL pitcher or NL pitcher. He's on the brink of turning a corner too and with the Angels offense things should pick up for him.

Sox STILL interested in Chacon
I've supported the idea for a while and I like it even more now that Hermanson is on board.

South of the border
Haha, no worries man. Good update Interesting finish to the story too

A's Deal Hudson
Well it was also Beane's call to pick up Kendall, even though payroll was semi close to a wash on the deal, still they upped the roll.
-
A's Deal Hudson
No, but I'd go 5 yr 65 mill or so. Sure its a chance, but he was absolutely monster last season. Put him in the Cell last season and he may just hit 60 hr's.

A's Deal Hudson
Remember, thats just whats being rumored. And I tend to agree, although Beltre is a phenomenal player and if he put up numbers like he did this past season (he's more then capable of it) then he's well worth the money.

2004 College Football Trash Talk Thread
I disagree. Washington is one of the better jobs in college football. Very nice area to live in and a good place to coach and they have a good tradition.

A's Deal Hudson
One major different, Montreal hasn't been competing for a division title/wild card/world series year in and year out. So worse case play him and if you fall out of the race deal him for a ransom then or take your draft picks for him.

A's Deal Hudson
If Cora is moved he will play 2nd. But its pretty much a guarantee he'll play 1st. The Dodgers have also tossed out the idea of him playing 3rd but its just something they'll use for leverage with Boras and Beltre. Seems like they can get Koskie if they want him, but they still are trying to get Beltre and it probably means they miss out on the Koskmeister.

Haha, your onto me. But alas, nothing came to my mind

A's Deal Hudson
Hudson will have a pretty good middle infield though with Itzuris and Cora (assuming Cora stays).
-
A's Deal Hudson
Ya, thats why Hudson would look so freaking good at the Cell. And yes I would make that deal and I think Beane would have to consider it. One thing you have to watch out for is Jackson's arm. He's had some arm problems and while nothing has been serious, I wouldn't call him 100%. He's got some pretty explosive stuff though. Its just a bad move, no other way to put it, imo.

Bears Vs Jaguars
Its obvious too cause the front is stacked. If your going to run call a sweep play. If they are playing pass then go a draw play or straight up the middle. He doesn't do that. He also went with no back sets a few times on first down, once in the redzone and every single play resulted in awfulness. Two were sacks One was a pass for no gain that was half a step from being picked and taken all the way back. Not to mention calling all these slow developing plays when you have a s***ty oline. I was looking at the paper this morning while watching the game. 2nd worse in the NFL in scoring and I'd bet if you took away the defense and special teams scoring, they would be by far the worse in the NFL when it comes to pure offensive points.

Bears Vs Jaguars
Shea continues to show me that he's an inmbosile. (I probably botched that spelling). I should of just said moron. But he went right back to stupid play calls. No three step drops, no slants, didn't use Gage, and refused to give the Train much time.
