A trib article mentioned that Konerko would only be dealt if RJ came to the SouthSide and then in the next sentence it implied that Lee would be part of a Vazquez deal. What the heck???? Luckily its just speculation at this point.

Ben Gordon
Fantastic Bulls game. That was so fun to watch. I still figured the whole time they'd find a way too blow it. Really surprised they didn't. Gordon is probably the best shooter on the team at this point (screw Piatkowski, the guy blows ass on anything but a spot up jumper). Bulls are making strides, they just got to work on cutting out the stretches of awfulness.

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
Reading between the lines, Kenny has or will get approval from JR to up the payroll if he can get RJ.

Rumors thread
Jesus, can Rotoworld please shut the hell up with their opinions. Its obvious they can never say a bad thing about Beane. But every goddamn thing Kenny does is crap in their mind. Mark my words they would of raved had Beane signed Hermanson or gotten Dye at the price they did (look at what Richard Freaking Hildalgo got for cripes sake). Beane is a freaking idiot if all he gets is Edwin Jackson and Antonio Perez. Its just gonna be further prove that he's gone downhill ever since Depodesta left. Beane is and would be absolutely nothing if it weren't for the big three and were soon going to find that out. BOOK IT. Perez has been so damn streaky its amazing. The guy is nothing more then Willie Harris with less speed. Oh big whoop, he hit 22 homers this past season, the most he has had since 2000 (By far too by the way). The guy had a whopping 13 homers in between those periods. Of course he also missed some time do to injury. STrikes out a lot for a 2nd baseman, but does show decent patience. Willie Harris is a better prospect, imo. The PCL is an extreme hitters league too, especially Las Vegas where the Dodgers AAA affiliate plays (at least from what I've heard talked about on Dodger broadcasts). This is an absolutely terrible deal if it goes down. I'd offer up Bmac, Harris, and Anderson. Thats a far better package then what the Dodgers are offering. Billly, your a moron.

Oh my, I'd love to get a hold of Burnett. He's gonna be back to putting up monstrous numbers this year.

phil rogers on sox/dbacks/yankees
Don't count that idea out. Regardless the Yanks could use a power hitting first baseman since it really does appear Giambi won't be a Yank (although they'll probably be paying him).

Leinart Wins Heisman
I should add I'm not really knocking Leinart, I just think he wasn't deserving. I do think he's going to make a solid pro qb and is going to get drafted very high. And Booty is going to be the starter next year, book it. He's supposed to be better then Palmer and Leinart.

Leinart Wins Heisman
What a joke. I'd of picked Bush over Leinart. Ask anyone in the pac 10 (coaches that is) and they'll tell ya the game plan was to stop Bush not Leinart. Heard Boise States coach talkinga bout Bush and was saying more of the same. It should of been White or Peterson.

Free Agent Resource
I'm sure the Yanks are dropping out. They figured out they could get Pavano, jumped on it, still want to add Milton and potentially RJ and are going to do or try to do just that. They are just shooting the bull on this mri. I'm guessing you could find something you don't like on any pitcher whose pitched in the majors long enough and thats what they'll do. This sucks for Wright cause now his market value just takes a crap. Hell, you may be able to get him one year now. Still, assuming what Rosenthal is saying is true, I'd go for him.

Great deal for the Brewers. I heard Steve Phillips talking about it and he said the buzz was Atlanta was giving up another good arm as well. Don't know if their is any truth to that or not. Cappellan is one of the very best pitching prospects out their but this move does make sense for the Braves cause it gives them an ace pitcher (ie Smoltz). The question is how will Smoltz handle the move back to the rotation.

Weis reportedly to coach ND
Weis seems like a good guy. But I was also liking the Clements possibility.

Ya, I'm really impressed with the transfer Haluska. He's only getting better and gives the Hawks another good outside scorer with Pierce and Horner and then Brunner and Hansen down low. Plus they have a pretty deep bench. I'm just wondering where Alex is. I was about to make a post saying he's been rather quiet

Toronto is looking at lee and konerko
Remember, Rippaldi wasn't the GM who made the Siro/Wells deal and that deal blew up for both teams. I still say, find me a way to get Vernon Wells and I'll be a happy camper. Or a ton of prospects and flexibility. The only thing I can think of is this is a move set to either follow another move or precede another move. And I fully agree that its nonsense that Hinske and Batista will be coming here for Konerko straight up. That would be garbage.

Guys take a look at HInske's contract. I'd puke if they picked him up. He's gonna get like 5 million plus in in 2006 and 2007. I was over reading on a Blue Jays board and most of them are puzzled at why the Sox would do this. So I'm thinking this is the Jays spin right now. However whoever the radio guy was said he was fairly confident some type of deal would work out. Said both GM's have been talking quite a bit with each other. Still, I'd look for Batista, Rios, and another prospect, imo.

Well if they lose out on Wright since he supposedly failed his physical, then I could very well see the Yanks signing Pavano and picking up Johnson. However, if they sign Wright (meaning it goes through) then I think the Yanks are pretty much done pitching wise and will turn their attention to Beltran.

No doubt about it too, plus Hinske is a defensive liability at the hot corner.

Toronto is looking at lee and konerko
Alright, would the Jays do a Lee and something for Halladay swap? The way I see it Halladay is one of the best pitchers in baseball and is supposed to be 100%. Obviously he's been overworked some by the Jays and if I recall he signed a 4yr 42 million extension sometime last year I think. He has three years left on the extension. 10.5 this season and then two years at 12.75. I got a sneaking suspicion the Jays would consider doing this deal.

Toronto is looking at lee and konerko
Agreed, I'd have no interest in that. Although I must admit, Batista, Hinske and Rios could be intriguing. The only problem is the Sox don't get payroll relief. I'd like to see them get Rios and another very good prospect and then move Lee to first and have Rios in the outfield. Then the Sox save pretty much 8 mill and focus on picking up a darn good middle infielder and Odalis Perez. That deal would give the Sox enough money to do that. Or they could package some guys elsewhere. I'm guessing its more likely that the Sox get one contract like Batista or Hinkse back in the deal though.

Toronto is looking at lee and konerko
Well SOB, then screw this. Either they get Rios and some other stud prospects and payroll relief. In this case i'd only deal Konerko, none of the others. And I'm not implying the Sox hold onto those prospects by the way, I'm implying they utilize them in the push for Hudson or RJ or another pitcher. On the other hand, picking up Halladay, WOWZERS. That be freaking AWESOME.

Toronto is looking at lee and konerko
Well if Hinske produced like he did in his rookie season, fine by me. But he hasn't been too grand since then. I do think he's a solid bat and wouldn't be bad at 1st base if the Sox opted to deal Konerko or Lee their way. But they better get Vernon Wells as well. In fact I think the Jays are just looking to get rid of Hinske. So if the Jays are really that interested, offer Lee for Hinske and Wells. Then the Sox turn around and deal Konerko, trying to get a good pitcher, but if they can't instead get payroll and sign Odalis Perez. Wells fills in Lee's spot and Hinske comes in and plays 1st (not as good as Konerko) but the Sox now have the money to sign Perez and to potentially make a run at a middle infielder (a good one at that).

One question, what is so great about Hinkse? If the Sox got Hinske and Wells that would be another story. Plus it would free up the potential for the Sox to swing the other power hitter in a deal for a pitcher.

How about Alex Gonzalez?
I'd pass on both. I think the Sox need to make a splash and land one more very good starter. After that I think I'd rather see Barry Larkin then Alex Gonzalez. Gonzalez doesn't quite have good range and he strikes out way too much for my liking.
