Finally one other person (actually I'm making an assumpion here Steff) that agrees with me that Otis was absolutely full of s***. The guy lucked out and to this day I believe he was completely full of crap.

What types of arms does Mil have close to being ready? Obviously Cappelan but he ain't going anywhere. I just know they have some really good middle infield prospects and of course Prince Fielder. Don't know if Lee could net one of those really good infield prospects but if they could I could see Beane really liking the idea of a deal with the Sox. I think the Sox will keep Pos and move whoever else they get elsewhere. Call it a straight hunch. Still if the Sox got Ginter, Pos and a good prospect, plus went out and signed someone It could work out. But I like the idea of a bigger trade myself If they want Pos...just deal Crede for Pos and then swing an Everett for Hinske trade.

The more I think about it. Lee for Pos and Hardy or whoever. Don't know if they could get them, but get the prospects necessary (maybe the A's be interested in Spivey). Whatever it takes get the prospects necessary to pull a deal with the A's and then the Sox include Anderson or whomever else to make it work out. That would give Oakland a very good prospect (probably near top) from Mil, a top prospect from the Sox (Anderson) and then Beane's pick at one of the pitchers not named Bmac (or whatever the hell else he wants and yes if begged enough I'd deal Bmac too). Sox net Huddy and Pos and pretty much complete their offseason. On an unrelated sidenote, if the Sox deal Konerko and if they really are interested in Koskie, you could almost see them deal Everett for Koskie and I bet Toronto does that cause they get away from a long term deal.

I'm going to just hope its a huge deal for Ben Sheets. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE If the Sox are dealing Lee they better get more then just Pos, Ginter and I'm talking about one of their very best prospects, at least that. I don't like the idea of dealing Lee to anyone. The only benefit to this is the Sox at least get payroll. But why the hell would JR have to approve something along these lines (I mean obviously Kenny would want to tell him about it) but its not like the Sox would be spending more money. So it would be as if that money would immediately get directed somewhere else?? Which tells me potential 3 way where the Sox land Pos and someone else maybe??? I can see Mil wanting Lee, maybe Arizona likes some of the Brewers stud prospects? Or Oakland (lord knows that Mil has the middle infield prospects Oakland would like). s*** new idea, 3 way where the Sox ship Lee for Pos and some prospects and then deal someone else along with the prospect or two they get (maybe teh A's want Ginter) for Huddy

They wouldn't want PK so that throws a hamper into the whole thing, imo. But if their is truth to the Hinske coming over, could they offer Crede for Posednik in a smaller deal? Or turn things into a 3 way deal like I suggested earlier where the Sox walk away winners. Of course I highly doubt Mil would want any part of my suggested 3 way, I see every reason why Toronto and the Sox would though.

Nah, right now payroll still has a little wiggle room, but not much. Enough to probably make one signing around 2-3 million a season. If the Jays took Everett's contract off the Sox hands along with PK for say Batista and Rios and Hinske then I could potentially see something work out. The Sox get a good prospect in Rios (potential leadoff hitter whose really been working out hard this offseason) and save about 4-5 million with Hinske sliding over to 1st or being sent out in a deal elsewhere. Then the Sox clear some more payroll in that deal and set themselves up semi decent to make a run at a free agent pitcher or two or can deal one of Garland/Batista. Or they could turn and deal Batista and Hinske to the brew crew for Pos and Ginter. They'll net Pos, Ginter, and Rios for Konerko and Everett...which is about as ugly as it gets, but at the same time they have now wiggled around to shedding 13 million in payroll. Only problem is all things considering it doesn't sound like Kenny wants to go the free agent route. But that would give him the money to sign Delgado or make a run at a starting pitcher and a solid bat. Plus the Sox still have Lee around and Rios is a solid player as is Pos and Ginter. The Sox also have some extra pieces laying around now for deals too.

Lee for Podsednik/Ginter?
That remains to be seen whether he pulls the trigger on these awful rumored deals. Especially that Toronto one. That is a freaking TERRIBLE deal...unless Vernon Wells is a part of it.

More I heard it sounds like the Cubs are pretty much stuck for the time being.

Trust me, I'm not overly excited but at least the Sox get 8 million to spend on pitching or whatever else. Assuming they go out and spend Konerko's money I have no problem with the deal. However that Toronto deal gives the Sox no such options. And jesus I don't want Miguel Batista. He was moved to the pen last season for the Jays.
-
Lee to Tor. for Hinske, Batista?
That deal would be worse then the Ritchie deal. And it does nothing to free payroll.
-
Bruce Levine reports....
If they shipped Hinske out fine by me. I just don't see the value of those deals. Batista isn't that grand. Just give me Elo back without dealing Lee.

If it were Konerko I think I'd do that Posednik and Ginter deal. And I have my doubts as to how good Posednik is.
-

I'm assuming JR is in Anaheim with Kenny still. They are probably getting ready to head off, but sometimes GM's stick around longer if necessary to get a deal done.

The Toronto deal would also have to give the Sox something else too, imo. As would the Mil deal. Think about it, has their been much anything said out of the Chicago papers in regards to either of this deals and them being very serious????
-
Lee for Podsednik/Ginter?
This trade would be just about as bad as the other Lee rumor.
-
Lee to Tor. for Hinske, Batista?
If Vernon Wells is a part of this deal, fine by me, otherwise, KW is a freaking moron. This reaks of BS coming out of Toronto. This deal also gives the Sox zero financial flexibility.

Danny Wrong released
I for one am sad to see Wright go, but I understand the move. I think the Sox could even pick him back up if he gets back to 100%. Everything I've ever heard about Danny says he was a team guy who did nothing but work his ass off. I heard when he was getting sent up and down for a couple seasons that when sent down he would accept the demotion and tell the players its just a sign he needs to improve. He never took it personally and would just work harder to get back. Danny is a real class act. However, I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. But this eludes to the Sox picking up someone in the Rule V tomorrow. This frees up a spot on the 40 man roster.

But Jones is better then any of those guys. He's one of the better outfielders in baseball (wouldn't say top class, but bottom of the line 2nd class). Speed, great defense, power, can hit for average (although last year wasn't the case). They'd get an excellent prospect or two for him, imo. And Terry Ryan does a good job of pawning off guys on other teams (see Pyrzinski deal and they did good on the Mient deal as well).

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
If the Sox got RJ, I'm assuming they would go one year with a 5th starter (if Garland is a part of a deal) and either one year or if Gibbons or someone like Gibbons is cheap enough multi year.

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
That same legend status could happen to him on the South Side. I think thats something that could really interest him. With Dye and Hermanson here you also know that with whatever bat that they deal they can get a guy like Gibbons on the cheap to semi replace his production and then maybe sign a Wilson Alvarez or even Elo (if Garland is a part of the package).
