OMG! HUGE News!!!
- Rutgers potential HIV cure?
OMG, this would be fabulous news. If this works, I'd drop the vaccine into the water supply in Africa to do everything it took to save all those babies who die of aids a year. Of course I'm sure some new deadly disease will popup, even harder to cure. It seems like as we develop a cure for one, another one or an offshoot of one will pop up harder to cure. Hopefully they can figure out the causes of cancer and better cures for it as well as Aids.- Blockbuster doing away with late fees
Lol, I used to that all the time. No matter what my friends were using there cards, I wasn't about to pay my late fees. Then of course I looked at my credit card bill and forgot they had it so i got billed for like 3 weeks of late fees when I swore I returned the movie. Regardless, now I got netflix and it owns.- Good Job KW
Ya, KW needs to get a pitcher. But I think he's going to. Kenny tends to do what he says he's going to do. I fully believe he works his ass off. In fact I think the reason he doesn't necessarily like the FA route is it involves more patience cause typically you banter back and forth with a player and his agent for a while, while with a trade, you can really hammer it out quickly and then Kenny knows what he wants is done and he doesn't have to worry about something else happening or getting in his way.- Sox Eye Clement
But over the years I notice guys that say fly under the radar in their system tend to do pretty well. Buehrle, Ordonez, Lee to be specific. I think Bmac and Tracey fit that bill. I really dont' think the Sox hype there guys too much, although they do hype Anderson more then my liking. But BA, they have become a hype machine. Still got great info but the more I learn about the minors the more my mind differs from the stuff they write. Still, I think its so key to have a strong farm system cause it gives you options, whether you can use a rookie to help your club or use them to give you a veteran boost via trade.- Lee for SPod, Vizcaino, and PTBNL
Ya, he's going to be here through 2007 at the least. And if he keeps pitching well I anticipate him to stick around for a long time. KW is building this team around pitching and defense and he's not going to let his pitchers just leave if they are pitching well and willing to sign a contract at market value.- Sox Eye Clement
Nah, not a sure thing. Mark Prior, he was a sure thing, imo. And even then you don't know. But Bmac pitches with poise and command and thats why I think so highly of his chances.- Sox Eye Clement
To go with what they say, he's the best pitching prospect in the organization and tore through the minors last season with stops in Kanny, WS, and then Bham. I think he'll start the year again in Bham, but I'm one of the few that does. I think he could use a little more time there. Has fantastic control and attacks hitters. Limits hits and has been a strikeout machine in the minors. I think he's led the minors in K's most every year (although I don't think he got it this year). His big pitches are the fastball, curve, and changeup (which is turning into a good pitch). His changeup is really helping his arsenal. Him and Sean Tracey are the best two starting pitching prospects the Sox have at this point, imo. But they have a lot of guys who with good years can move themselves up. But as of this point none rank near where Bmac does although I think Tracey has a high ceiling and then some of last years draft class (lumsden, Gio, Liotta) and then you have Rodriguez and Haig down in Kanny who I think have a shot. Then of course Diaz and Munoz who at best are 5th starters, imo, but have a shot to be quality relievers.- Good Job KW

haha, when I saw the thread, I thought you were going to give me an explanation for why It seems I can never sell my textbooks back But thats pretty cool stuff.- Life or Death?
Don't ask me. I try my best to stay away from this crap. I don't follow it on the news and try to stay away from it, but still you end up hearing so much about it. Its sad and all but It doesn't need all this publicity.- Crazy idea let me know what you think?
I can tell you one thing. The Mets would definately make this deal. But the Sox won't. If it wasn't for the fact that I hate Piazza, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it, cause he should do better. But he is unwilling to play first base, injury prone and the contract ain't all that grand. And Victor isn't a good enough arm to get. If someone straightens him out he could turn into an ace, but its unlikely at this point.- Sox and Mets targeting Luis Garcia
Howard isn't worth giving up Garland for. Howard isn't all that much different then Garcia. Howard just had more time in the minors. I don't think Howard is this given to be a god. For all we know he's in the Julio Zuletta mold (he always produced with the Cubs in the minors...now he's somewhere in Japan). I don't give up good prospects or players for 26 year old first baseman that are still in the minors. Plus why do it when there is a similar player out there. Now I'm not saying Garcia is better then Howard, but its not like Howard is anymore proven (in a sense) so why give up something good when you can get a guy for cash??????? I do think it could bring a little validity in PK being potentially dealt. But at the same time you don't sign a minor leaguer to replace a guy of Konerko's caliber. He could platoon with Gload though, I guess. I think its also a signing that would really help relations with Charlotte. He'd mash with the Knights. Plus the Sox have Rogo and well Rogo down in the minors when it comes to 1st base prospects and he's now out in the outfield.- Sox Eye Clement
I still say Kenny said that to throw others of his track completely. I think he may be targeting Perez. I also think the rumors of 4yr 40 are way out of proportion and that he still could potentially be had at 8 mill a year, especially to the Sox, cause he wants to stay in Chicago. Him and Perez are both the type of pitchers I'd like on the southside.- Sox Eye Clement
Couldn't agree more. The question is what would it take to get him. I could see Konerko/Garland for Castillo/Burnett like someone else suggested. Seems like a fair deal for both sides. It also gives the Sox just a little more wiggle room (only in the neihborhood of 2 mill more) but thats enough for them to sign a starter, land Pyrz and then maybe go out and pick up a young starting first baseman for prospects (Nick Johnson, Hee Sep Choi) who will compete with Gloadie. I know one thing: Garcia Buehrle Burnett Perez Contreras Thats a rotation I LOVE. If Burnett is healthy the Sox got their ace. The bullpen should be good. The defense will be good and the top of the order is solved with Rowand moving into the middle portion of the lineup. You do put a major risk on your power, but at the same time team speed improves. I have my questions as to whether the Sox want to have a lineup without any major bats, but I do think they'd still have guys more then capable of hitting in this lineup, the main question is whether they would come through and live up to the ability.- Sox and Mets targeting Luis Garcia
Garcia has a lot of power. I remember hearing the tribe announcers rave about this guys power potential. He really had a miserable 2003 with the Indians.- Delgado
I do like the Garland/Konerko suggestion for Castillo and Burnett. However, Delgado is out of the Sox range, so they would have to find a first baseman to target or go with Gload. I will say this, Burnett is a hell of a pitcher, although I'd look for Perez over Clement and sign Pyrzinski as well. That give the Sox a hell of a rotation though, with Contreras as a 5 and they'd have a very good 1-2 punch at the top of the order. The middle part of the order wouldn't be as pretty as some would like though.- Lee for SPod, Vizcaino, and PTBNL
Since you watch him a lot, what do you think of him? Is he a good pickup or do you think he's overrated and if so, why?- New header suggestions?
- Life or Death?
I think he did it, but our legal system isn't about thinking, its about knowing.- Life or Death?
Nah, they just wanted to show the other jurors the dead bodies to bring up emotions so they could get the death penalty verdict. They being the more outspoken jurors.- Life or Death?
I'm as shocked as you are. Between this, Pavano, and Varitek I've been way off on some of my bolder predictions. Did you hear the jurors quotes, specifically that red hair ladies? Jesus, all they were talking about was there feelings. Thats the problem with the legal system today, its not the law that settles the case its the 12 jurors and what there opinions are. Thats not how it should be and Garagos is one of the s***tiest attorneys I've seen in a long time. He didn't even come close in a case that he should of had at least a decent shot at winning. He's going to get a new attorney, and a new trial though based on the way two jurors were kicked out during deliberation. Coincidentally the two that would of kept that jury hung. I'll say it again, the evidence isn't there for this. Talk about hwo he had an affair and that he's an asshole, but it doens't mean he murdered his wife. - Rutgers potential HIV cure?
