The fact that this team has a rushing attack and some solid Tes - I think we might see an arrow pointing up. Just huge kudos to Foles and the whole team for not giving up this one.

They actually took shots down field and connected. Mitch just doesn’t and can’t take shots down field. You can’t win in NFL if the league doesn’t respect your big play ability. Makes everything harder and if you don’t have that big play ability you got to be a magician at everything else and he isn’t. Nick is still mediocre but that might be enough for this team to be pretty good. I think they come out big next week.

The 2nd one was the right call - but that first one crazy. Beyond that not only did they lose the replay - they lost possession on both plays. Hell of a win! And Nagy pulled the plug on Mitch at the right time.

Nick has his flaws but he can at least read defenses. Big Dick Nick - yes!

HE actually played about the same % of snaps in week 1 and week 2. I actually heard / read somewhere that part of why he isn't getting the snaps is he can't really run block much with his shoulder injury. Team is kind of keeping that load easy on him given the short off-season, which is kind of understandable. But I don't disagree with everything you say - every time anyone annoited Miller as great, I always caveat it with a lot of "chatter" from his coaches that talk him up but at the same time walk it back. Wimms has gotten a lot of Miller's snaps and Wimms has made most of it with some solid catches, but more importantly he's been a STUD run blocker thus far at the wideout position.

One comp White had a year ago was Jamal Murray. Murray obviously went HAM this season (so this was before this year). Would be pretty stellar if that comp ended up holding true.

To your point - he may actually be an excellent X's and O's coach in the sense that he designed strategy around his best players, who had inherit flaws and very much has adjusetd to the league. Last year - with Paul he took complete advantage of the mid-range game and with Russell did other unique things. The reality is - you could argue, outside of his 1st year in the league (where he had KD & Russ) - he got the absolute most out of his teams. The best coach in the world wasn't winning a championship with any of the rosters he had outside of that 1st year (and naturally - I would expect a major adjustment for any coach coming from college to NBA game). Like I said - this is one of those moves where every day I get more excited about the hire. This really is a home run hire.

This - more valuable to put him in the leverage situation. And if rodon is ready tomorrow - I’m doing it again. Get his feet wet now. I’d like to use Rodon two more times if possible before playoffs start but I’ll admit we probably only see him once more. If you want to be pissed - be pissed at how much such have used their top pen guys last handful of days despite having a playoff spot locked up!

9/24: Pale Hose vs. They Should Be Called the Spiders (5:10 CT)
Life is too short to be grumpy and pissed - they made the playoffs - no matter what they get their chance to make their bed when the playoffs start in a week. They’ve done enough for that and I don’t think seeding matters at all this year - especially with the 3 game set up. This week is basically playing with house money - win the division awesome - but it doesn’t guarantee playoff success at all. Would it be nicer sure. Now if they needed this to make the playoffs - ok be pissed - be very pissed. If this was needed to stay out of a playoff game - be pissed.

I don’t see why Twins would be laughing. We all are playing a 3 game series in a week. Bats need to wake up - not like the team has been losing to bad competition either. These are good teams and these losses can be great learning opportunities - maybe even ones they can use to put them in a better spot when the playoffs start. Not going to let this get me all pissed off - this young team will learn from this and hopefully they get out of this funk and win a playoff series or two, but even if they don’t - mission accomplished this year with more work to do and more steps to take next year. Heck - if there was a team I wouldn’t want to play in the post season it would be Cleveland so as far as I’m concerned this might end up better. PS: I still say they are winning it all. Rodon will step up in playoffs and Robert will get his adjustments and get rolling again just in time.

It is starting to sink in more- the bulls just hired the best head coach on the market and went from Boylen who had a reputation around the league that was pure trash to Billy D who is probably one of the more relatable and genuine guys around the league and also a good coach. I don’t know that he’s a great X’s and O’s Guy but he is an awesome leader of men and will be a tremendous hire to just shift the tone. If you are any of the Bulls players - just imagine the 180 when they get in practice this week and go from hearing the previous clown on a day in and day out basis to Billy D. Seriously - let that sink in for a second! Every time I hear him talk - I understand why he did so damn well in college and he did a heck of a job this year. The bulls are going to do it - this regime is going to be the one that slays the dragon and truly lands some big time FAs over time. Can just feel it.

Bummer and Rodon return, Detwiler and Not going to Cishek anymore DFAd
I'm in the camp of closer to Andrew Miller - if his arm is healthy he's going to be LETHAL out of the pen...LETHAL. Now someone will rightfully tell me his arm / back whatever isn't healthy and that is probably a super fair point.

I always wonder why they barely would trot him out yet we were using and abusing other guys.

Now when are the Bulls going to all of a sudden make a play for Bradley Beal - who has tweeted on multiple ocassions going back past month+ about Donovan and the Bulls (including again tonight). Do you trade Lavine for him (plus picks) or do the Bulls package other young players for him (Lauri, Kobe, etc)? Than go out and lure Giannis next year. Or just let this year play out and go all in for Giannis & AD and let the rest of the chips fall out where they do

Love this quote from Billy D (from sometime this season). It is like the exact opposite of Boylen quoting he wanted his offense to average like 35+ assists a game (which had like NEVER been done in the history of basketball). Also a pretty sweet youtube video. Donovan:

Can't tell - do you not like the job he did at OKC? I actually thought the opposite - I didn't think anyone expected him to get as much out of that team as he did. You saw young players develop and obviously Chris Paul was masterful (and probably played a HUGE part in what OKC did as well). To your point - they could have found an assistant who was better, but coming from where they were a year ago - this is a pretty masterful hire if for no other reason than literally in the course of an off-season the front office has potentially cleaned up some LT perception issues (front office & head coach). Now proof is actually in the pudding - but pretty happy with the initial steps made by the new regime.

He is a professional coach who is pretty well respected around the league, including by players. I don't know that he's a home run coach - but from a respectability perspective, this is a home run hire. You went from Boylen who is the exact opposite to a guy who has real clout around the league.

Is this "the cerb". I figure this is just like 2005 - start to struggle right at the end and than a new Joe Crede will appear and Sox will win the series. Hope all is well!

I don't disagree with what you said. My view is - give me 7 or 8 weeks and than I'll come to judgement. I would be pretty slow to pull the trigger, but that is partly because I think pretty lowly of Foles. If I were running the franchise, we would have had Cam as our QB.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-mitchell-trubiskys-improvement-makes-the-chicago-bears-a-playoff-team Not sure I would buy it all - but would be great if he can keep building on things. Eyes have definitely said he's been better, but point production still leaves a lot to be desired. I've always said best thing that could possibly happen for Bears this season would be Mitch taking real steps forward.

Trevor Bauer Thread (Mazara Free Zone)
On a 1 year deal - I don't get why a team would worry about him pitching more. If it works out, awesome and if it doesn't, worse case you are giving some extra rest to your arms that are signed LT and/or are going to be around a lot longer. Is there a reason why Bauer wants to pitch more - does he have a view that the more you throw the stronger and more resilient the arm is?
