  1. Beside that - what are the standards - Do teams go the Iowa Hawkeye pink lockeroom route and make visitor rooms sub-standard. What about concerns over teams having bugs in the facilities, etc (probably more risky when you are staying at the facility on top of just the lockeroom - although lockeroom bugging risk exists too). Use of independent hotels to me puts a lot more controls on each franchise for what they want, etc.
  2. Smart - And get creative around flexibility of schedules like they did.
  3. Like any of the grand conspiracy claims which are focused on political allegiances - that would mean that every other country in the world is also ignoring it and all part of a massive global conspiracy just to ensure Trump can never get elected. I'll let you decide if the world is really able to collectively achieve that and for what reason.
  4. That is a big loss - but I get it and respect him for that decision.
  5. Is it due to weather or is this because Ricky is down and they want to get more testing?
  6. That is why I go with my fool proof strategy - keep my kid from playing at the highest level - than sell the college on the potential - we don't know - she might be the next great thing. We don't know - maybe she shoots 100, but she also might just shoot 65 on average - do you want to turn down that sort of potential? I need a guaranteed full ride. PS: She may not actually have any desire to play - so please ensure that this scholarship is iron clad
  7. That is what it sounded like.
  8. This - or just state, we will go into a temporary freeze, pause season for 2-3 days, test all of the players, than based upon those findings either extend the delay and/or get back on the playing field with a plan to make up some of the lost games (either extending season by a few days or a week or adding in some double-headers along the way).
  9. This is what I don't get - how would you not have had contingency plans for if things hit the fan. That is just staggering to me for a business the size of MLB.
  10. I would think the league would have been prepared for this and known you might have potential 1-2 week stoppages along the season to ensure everything can get contained and controlled. That said, this happening so fast has to put increased pressure on everything, especially with the delays of the testing. First and foremost, I would expect to see a lot more mandatory distancing between players (since i saw a lot of high fives etc during at least the Sox series).
  11. Steep price to pay for a safety. Adams is really good, but I never like giving up 2 1st round picks. On the other side, Bears traded Shaheen to the Dolphins for a conditional 6th round pick. Presume one of the conditions has to be health so probably low odds Bears given Shaheen's 1st 3 years with the club.
  12. What is a discord server? Don’t know what it is - do not on the horizon but If it is something cool that the users want I’m always game to make enhancements (presuming no to minimal cost since this site is a labor of love!)
  13. It is fun to be excited about baseball again - this team may not be the best but they are going to be fun and after the 2010-2019 era this is a nice change to be fired up for white Sox baseball again!
  14. Yeah - I had been lulled into forgetting about all my concerns of team d. Madrigal will help but Nicky in RF - no good either.
  15. Yeah - I remember this defense. Still I like this teams bounce back ability. Twins hitters are legit though - battling a ton too.
  16. Jimmy was 100% happy and ready to stay. He was blindsided when the Bulls shipped him out. Now whether the Bulls wanted to supermax him, that is another story.
  17. Lavine is about the only player I think on the Bulls who is actually worth anything (plus Wendell). The more I think about how Lauri dissapeared I am more ready to ship him out and while I like White's attitude and hustle, he's more Ben Gordon than anything else. I think Lavine is signed to a reasonable contract, works hard, and while he has his flaws, has the elite athleticism that can make him even better - plus he has legitimate gotten better each year he has been in Chicago. I'm very curious to see what the new front office does around the roster and what choices they make. If I ran the team - I might think about trading a lot of guys to either accumulate picks and/or leverage them to get a topline player looking to make a move. I should caveat - I don't mind the other guys, but none of them are "special" talents, imo and I don't think any of them have that ability either. Really wish they took a path where they really built around Buckets (as crazy as he is, the dude was good and could have recruited).
  18. Yeah - I think the one miss they had was preventing a bye for the upper echelon teams. Not fair if you were the best team all season and you get knocked out in a fluky 3 game set.
  19. I legitimately wonder if the 162 game season is the real relic in this and whether we end up with more of a ~100 game season with expanded playoffs in the future. Keep importance of regular season, but with more urgency - with added post-season excitement.
  20. Yeah - they are playing apart from each other and doing things outdoors, etc. Risks are still pretty low, even if a player had it. Non existent, no, but that was never going to be the case anyway. All of the sports are assuming people are going to get it, but they are trying to manage it as quick as possible to prevent the entire team or mass parts of the team from getting it. Football & Basketball have a ton more contact and much more activity with multiple parties in very tight spaces, so that is a whole nother story.
  21. In a 162 game season - selectivity is important, otherwise that long season is an utter waste of time. In a 60 game season, expanding the playoffs makes total sense.
