  1. I'm sure your right with Reed. I don't really see any of them coming up. Then again, Borchard does have experience so bringing him up so he can experience a playoff push could be a nice thing. He could maybe learn some things on the bench talking to Carl Everett and some of the other vets like Alomar, etc.
  2. Also, check the help board. I responded to your post, but it was moved over there. Thats where all questions go. And as always, Welcome Aboard
  3. They aren't planning on bringing much anyone up. Typically teams in the hunt don't use many callups, because they fear it could hurt their chemistry. I think the Sox will call up a few pitchers, and they will use a couple of them as a 5th starter so the Sox can use Buehrle, Colon, Loaiza and Garland in a 4 game set against the Twins with the 5th guy pitching the final game against the Indians. Just a guess.
  4. I wouldn't bring Joe up. I think he's had too much ups and downs thus far over the past year and a half. The Sox don't really have a need for him and I'd let Joe finish the year on a strong note. Then have him work some things over the offseason as well as get a lot of rest for that wrist and next year will be his opportunity. If the Sox were going to call someone up for pinch running, defense and some ocassional pinch hitting, I think you'd call up Reed. And I'm not necessarily saying htey should do that. Right now I'd probably call up Rios and thats about it and a catcher, positional wise.
  5. The longer it goes with the Cubs within a game or two, then the more I thinko f them as favorites. Baker gets his troops motivated and although I don't like him as a manager, there is no doubt he's the best of the 3, plus he's got unbelievable pitching, especially if Juan Cruz replaces Estes.
  6. I think its a given that Williams has thought about firing Manuel considering how the team plays at times and how lost they appear to be at times. Their is no doubt the talent is their, but if all championships were won by the most talented teams, sports wouldn't be fun to watch.
  7. Ya...are you getting an error message? 8. Dang, Cotts got hit pretty hard in his first start back. Also notice Borchard hitting still. Anyone have his splits over the last month or so. He must be around .350 or so.

  10. Dang, you wonder if it will be him called up instead of Burke this time when rosters expand.
  11. This is an unbelievable sign. He looks like he's gonna finish strong, start back up in AA next year, with confidence and hopefully rejuvenate his light as a Top prospect.
  12. I'm guessing they hold off all announcements until tomorrow and then they will send up a couple players from Charlotte, since I'm assuming they'll be eliminated from playoff contention. I think they are a loss away from elimination and I don't know how they did last night.
  13. Yep, with more then 100 at bats. Just saw that on sportscenter when I woke up

    Hernandez

With a 6 mill option that is gonna vest in a week or so, the Expos would love to deal him. The problem is no team wants to add his salary. I think they'd love to add him as a player, but 6 mill in this current financial setting is too much to pay for Livan Hernandez. The flip side to this is, if he would of made less, he wouldn't of passed through waivers in the first place and the Expos wouldn't be wanting to deal him. I don't think he'll get moved, unless the Yanks, BoSox, Cards, Astros or Giants want him.
  15. Pics came out good, too bad none of us could bring the Sox good luck in Anaheim.

    I'm definately in.
  18. The wasting an option on him is the only negative. Neal got to come up to the majors and experience it. No, he wasn't as sucessful as he'd of liked to be or as the Sox wanted him to be or as the fans wanted him to be, but it isn't a naught cause. Now Neal knows exactly what he has to do to get better and if he's gonna be sucessful, which I think he is, he's got to just work and work and work and get better and better. He'll help the Barons over the stretch run and then throw a few innings in the AFL, something I am kind of against, other then the fact they are teaching him a cutter, which I like. IF it were me, I'd start limiting his innings now, since they plan on using him in winter ball.
  19. Geeze, don't ever scare the s*** out of me like that again. I hope Maggs is alright.
  20. If its not during a game then whats it matter. It would be like a golfer carrying extra clubs in his bag during a training match. Its not like he's cheating during the game or something. Plus its not like the effect from using an aluminum bat carries over (ie...the extra power gained). Then again this is coming from MLB who will fine a player if they wear their cap backwards during warmups.

    Cali

    Yeah, Spiff lives there. Lol
  22. Crede is I think best in the AL in August or at least he was two days a go. He has also homered in 4 of 6 games. Plus his average is hovering right around .260 and considering what it was at, it shows just how much he's improved over the 2nd half of the season.
