    Nice Stuff
  3. Joe has been hitting it pretty hard since coming back. I hope Rex was right that he needed to get back with Richie (Hitting Coach). Tough outing for Heath. I think he'll be fine though. He did get whacked around good though.

If you ask JM who he prefer to put on play agst LH pitchers, he will say (dumb as always) Jose. I hate Jose and his BS of intangibles (winning attitude, good baserunning, etc.). In 8th inning, he was leading off the inning and JM leaves Jose to face the LH, with DJ on the bench hitting almost .300 agst lefties. JM, it's because of this and others things that the fans hate you so much! :fyou JM Thank you. It is beyond ridiculous that Jose plays against LHP. Jimenez is hitting very good against LHP and Graffy hits good against lefties. It is ridiculous that Jose is always out there. I'm sick and tired of the constant bs that Manuel pulls. He always claims to be a small ball manager, yet he never backs that talk up by implementing it. The time has ran out. I'm not one to make rash conclusions, I've watched Manuel be a fool for a few years now. This season its been worse because the offense has been atrocious so it really brings out a managers faults. Every game I watch before plays are made I see so many mistakes. I'd probalby say 2 to 3 a game, which is a real high amount. These aren't the second guessing variety but just areas where he could make something happen with this offense yet he still sits around, for the 3rd month in a row, expecting a whole lot of homers and the offense to just go on an onslaught. Manuel, it isn't going to happen. You've waited 3 f'in months now for this crap. Why don't you get off your butt and try to make something happen. Put guys in motion, get Jose's sorry self out of the lineup against lefties and for all I care get him out of hte lineup full time. If it were me, Harris, Hummel and Miles would be up here. Hummel, Miles and Jimenez in the infield while Harris and Rowand rotate in the outfield with Rios long gone and Jose long gone. Now you got to find a trade partner for Jose, but its time to shake this club up and start developing. IF the team starts winning fine, then make some improvements at the deadline, but if not, continue with the development and by giving them a whole lot of time you can really get guys set for next year or the year after. But the Sox will continue to fart around and suck and then make the trades much later when you can only scout the guys for about a month to month and a half at the major league level, instead of giving them half a season of development.

What the hell did Mark do. How can you ever wish a Sox player to suck? Now I think I dislike Jose more then anyone on the Sox, but I don't root for him to do bad, he just sucks. I hope he could somehow start to hit and actually become a useful player, but its not going to happen and as long as we have a guy in the 2 hole who has a freaking horrible obp, this team will suck. He isn't the only problem, but with Frank coming out of his rut and Maggs playing alright (Crappy compared to Maggs usual standards) while Carlos has been fine and is hitting good with runners on. Konerko has been bad, Crede has been (But he's a rookie, so I never blame a team's season on rookies cause I don't expect crap out of them to begin with; Crede has been playing better lately and his avg is right around Jose's). Then you have Rowand that has looked much much better this time up. Miguel has been alright and is better then anything we had behind the plate last year.
  6. Backman is awesome.

Thats the part I knew about. I know I never really lifted until I was a junior or so.
  8. Thanks for that update Rex. I've noticed in the box scores that he's been really doing good lately out of the pen. His ERA has been dropping constantly since some rough outings early in the season. I think he was right when he decided to move to the pen. He could really be a good swingman out of the pen or even a lefty specialist. As long as he keeps improving his control (The better the control the better his chances and he has pretty good control already) and developing his secondary pitches he's got a shot. Lefties that get guys out don't need to throw hard; neither to righties in my mind, but too many people think they do.
  9. Just looking at the standings there is still a chance. The pitching is kind of there (although Glover and White haven't been good; White is kind of showing signs, although he gave up a run yesterday). Thomas is heating up and if Maggs can start playing ball like he should be they could carry the offense.
  10. Rivera had a monster game. It wouldn't shock me to see him in Chicago some time this season with Paul gone or in AAA and Alomar on the DL.

Not Reinsdorf, he had ordered the 'RPR' contract clause not be invoked. Williams did it against orders, and JR cleaned up the mess, giving Thomas a contract he could live with worth about the same as the old one. There's no way thats possible. If Ken Williams did that he would of been fired. It was a good move to invoke the Dimished Skills Clause in the contract.

While some of you guys and gals may have inside sources, I'm out here in Cali and I know people in Chicago were always talking about Thomas going to the Dodgers, but out here no one even mentioned it as much of a possibility. Dodgers were looking at Cliff Floyd.
  13. Chisoxfn replied to a post in a topic in Pale Hose Talk
If your implying that the Dodgers were going to give him 10 mill plus a year, then I got to disagree. There is no way that the Dodgers would be offering that much. If they were they would of signed Cliff Floyd to play first base. They didn't sign him because Fox told Evans he couldn't spend the money and I think he only got 8 million a year. They also would of showed interest in Jim Thome. Now if your talking about Frank's original contract when he signed it for like 10 mill a year, I do believe that he could of got quite a bit more in the mid 90's.
  14. Probably just a glitch or you may of double clicked, either way no biggie.
  15. Thats so freakin tight spiff. Nanaanaaa Batman Nananaaaanaaaaaaaaa LEAAAAADEEERR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. 4.0 two straight semesters ... Stanford Law here I come
  17. I agree. You have very solid prospects in Cotts, Munoz, Ring, Honel, and Wing (not counting others at lower levels). You have a next tier of prospects which are a little less of a sure thing but still have possibility of being good in Rauch, Diaz, Phillips, Allen, An, Pacheco, and Yofu. Then you have guys like Malone and West who although injuries and struggles have lowered their status, could make it if everything eventually comes together for them. I know I am missing some (Bajaneru and Bullard, etc.) that could be on one of the above lists as well. I think that is about as solid of a list as most teams could come up with. I agree with you. Wing is really good and I still am amazed he never gets talked about, but I guess its kind of good that he doesn't get hyped cause then people won't expect a whole lot out of him and be ready to give up on him after two starts where he isn't up to par. Wing, Rauch, Munoz, Ring, Diaz, Cotts, Phillips. Rauch, Allen, West, Malone, etc. All these guys have good stuff and can get things done. Most of these guys won't make it or will have sometype of set back. By make it I mean become a really good player, but the potential is there for each and everyone of them. I know I left plenty of guys out too, such as Honel, good thing I remembered him, lol.
  18. A lefty that is compared to Mark Buehrle. HE's around 20-25 in the prospect list that we had up so you can get more info about him there. Only reason he was that high was because of injury concerns.
  19. Welcome Aboard Dasox24 I like Kearns more then Dunn. I think both are good, but I really think Austin will be a more complete player. I'd love to acquire one of them though along with Willy Mo Pena. I don't think we should be trading Borchard though, but instead moving the arms for prospects and move Konerko and Jose. Heck, if Thomas keeps hitting we may be able to unload him too. I'm sorry, but I want the contracts the Sox were stuck with gone and some great young talent in here. Then in a year or so, theSox won't be bogged down and some of the players will develop into a good nucleus and they can spend some money to finish the team off.
  20. I think Malone still has a chance. He's so raw. He had that one amazing season and thats what he can do if he gets things together. The Sox have a lot to do with him though. I think with Rauch he will make it. I think he's got a really good curve, a decent slider and a solid fastball. He's got to develop all of his pitches though where he can really hone them, plus add a solid change to the repetoire. Its too bad he lost so much velocity after the surgery and thus far I haven't heard him regaining much of it, although I'm glad to know that Jim has heard good things from people in Charlotte.
  21. Thats great for Phillips. I hope West's injury isn't serious. The Barons really have a megshift staff going. I think Phillips is deserving of the callup.
  22. Sweet, this guy is supposed to be pretty talented. Right now I want Brooks, Veal, and Sweeney signed. I'm assuming Anderson is going to be signed pretty damn quickly. I have just made a page with all the Updated Signings This kid is supposed to have a great arm.

Agreed. One of the most relaxing things in summer is reading a good book out on the deck, or at the beach or a park. For me, that beats the crap out of playing video games. Thats how I study for my finals. I go to the beach where there is a great atmosphere and look over my notes or books and throw some football in between to relax the mind. Plus, its a GREAT Atmosphere lol jas i know why you do your studies at the beach dont lie to us now........we know better..... Yes, the Atmosphere, or should I say Hotchick-O-Sphere
