Great news people, in about 20 minutes I'll be launching futuresox.com
In the next week or so there will be a few articles going up on the draft. The first article will be up there today, with a list of all the Sox picks. I'm gonna be updating it throughout the day.
Then we'll be doing our best to get info on all these guys.
Other then Kohlmeirer I thought the list was good.
I like Yan higher then Hummel though, personally. I think Hummel fits as a utility guy while Yan has a shot to be a stud leadoff hitter. Of course he has a lot to prove cause the numbers he's putting up right now don't mean much until he shows he can do it in AA.
Cerb's the gifted stat guy, I am a toolsy type guy. Thats why I think we'll make a good mix as future gm's
Remember, you dont' want to run a draft based on needs, but based on talent.
One guy I love is falling; Sox should nab Wes Littleton. Has great movement on his pitches and a pro fastball (91 MPH). Nevermind. Texas nabbed him about 3 slots before we took the highschooler.
STELLAR. This guy was rated by many as the best highschool shortstop in the country entering the draft. I think he'll be a tough sign but if we can get him it would be huge.
Has power potential and a great glove.
This was an awesome pick in my book. I think he's going to make a huge impact in a few years at the major league level.
Considering we have Reed, Webster, Borchard, and now Anderson, Sweeney (Likely to move to first), and this King guy.
So everyone knows I'm working on a write up that will be up tonight on the first day of the draft. Then after the draft one of our new writers for FutureSox is going to give his one personal type of look at the draft.
Just looked and the Expos snagged Cordero in the first round. They took a big time reach. He's got a hell of an arm though. My friend catches the pitchers and said his ball his the best movement of any he's ever caught.
If he falls to us we nab him.
Two guys I'd love to see the Sox draft are Wes Littleton and Chad Cordero out of Cal State Fullerton.
Littleton is a good starter and Cordero is one of the best closers in the country. I'm assuming Cordero was snagged already. Littleton would of been a first round pick if he wasn't suspended for a month of the season. They never said why it was, but he's supposed to be a good guy.
