Someone told me back when Rauch was in AA that they had like a screenshot from behind the plate. Don't know if it was from barons.com or not.

no problem Tex. I enjoy helping out here and hopefully one day I'll be running the Sox so you can all whine and complain about me
-
Anyone know if you can watch the games on tv. I heard from someone that they used to have them on tv (via the net) and was going to see if thats still viable?
-
With Wells he was hurt well before the Sox were out of the race. I think he was hurt after the first month or so of the season so trading him wasn't really an option. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong though?

Mike, just tell me and I'll do your report for as long as you need it. I'm fine now that finals are done tomorrow. Let me also give Mike some quick props as he's the real expert behind the prospects. I rank him ahead of me. I also rank the Hudmeister on the board as awesome on minor league players and I love hearing everyone elses insites as well.

When I was there he looked good in the field and good at the plate. I guess it really makes a difference on how you evaluate someone based on a few days. I saw him more towards the beginning, I think like the 10th. Then again, he was playing against lesser competition at the time. He got better each at bat I saw. I think he played in both of the games I saw. Didn't see Brumbaugh, other then seeing some general bp with him. Or at least I didn't think I did. Munoz was off when I saw him, although I saw the potential.

In regards to Jose, he could be a viable option in St. Louis. They lost Fernando Vina for a while. Don't know if they want to add the payroll though (The Cards).

Oh ya, really quick I will add what Futuresox.com is It is a new site that we are developing that will be soley for whitesoxminor league baseball. And of course it will be in "affiliation" with Soxnet and Soxtalk. If anyone is interested in writing stuff dealing with minor leaguers, shoot me an email at [email protected] or [email protected] We hope to have the site up soon. I'm done with school tomorrow and am going to get to work designing it and dont' want to release it until it is rather complete. Some stories on futuresox (The major ones) will be syndicated over on SoxNet while more minor minor league news will stay there. Of course all of it will be posted here. Hopefully it goes well. I'm excited about it, cause right now I need something to take my mind off the Sox

And in the ninth inning Brantley was talking to whoever the other guy was and they started talking about best closers. They brought up the name Billy Koch and Brantley immediately began questioning the way Manuel handles his pen instead of questioning Koch. He said that as a closer he knew that you weren't always on and that the best thing is to let them work out of it. He also implied that Manuel has that pen up in arms and no one knows their role, which is a huge reason the pen is in shambles. I'm not going to say the pen is in shambles, but I thought it was interesting hearing it from a former closer.

Wow thats quite a few guys all coming from the same area.

I'll preface my only two thoughts by saying I have never put together a list as deep as 50, so it must really be tough. My guess is that I would run out of names at 37. The only difference of opionion is that Anthony Sanders and Cliff Brumbaugh are both vets and not prospects. It is very unlikely they would ever make it to Chicago unless they are temporary fill-ins for someone injured or something. Other than that, I will continue to read the list as you post it and look forward to it. If I can add anything I will, but you guys do a solid job of doing your homework it seems. Rex it was so hard to come up with. The big question was who do we include who don't we include. With players like Ginter, we decided not to include them, yet Sanders and Brumbaugh are on the list and I think Sanders has major league experience. One thing I'll say about Sanders is for some reason I liked what I saw of him in spring training. I still can't wait to get on the road later this summer and see all the new players.

I don't have a dirty mind Steff, please. Heather is in her own world when it comes to dirty minds. Ian, you want to make one?

You don't give a guy that big of a % of your teams salary if your a lower market team or a lower payroll team. Its just not smart cause it handcuffs you with all other deals. I think they can sign him for 10 mill a year and at that price its alright to have one high priced guy.
-
I agree with them on that or at least I would of last year. I felt this year the team would not only contend but develop Jimenez, Crede, Olivo, Garland, Wright and Borchard a bit. The development hasn't been all that bad, its the talent that was there that was supposed to produce thats been bad.

Don't go comparing Leyland to Manuel.

Lol, so so true. These reports are what will get me hired as the future gm. I can only hope JR starts reading what I say and realizes hell, I got a prime gm candidate there and best of all he has no experience (Equates to dirt cheap hire).

Alex is heading out on vacation pretty quick, but next time I see him online I"ll ask him.

Parrish is very old and was in AAA last year (I think he was at least, maybe I'm wrong, and I'm too lazy to check). Either way he isn't a prospect in my mind. I think he was starting last year for the Sox system. I'm trying to remember how we got him and it was either the Dodgers or more likely from the Rangers.
-
Lol, one thing Cerb, me and Mark agreed on it how little Wing gets talked about and how much of a stud he could be. I've been a big Wing backer for a year now.
-
Alumnium bats suck. The only reason highschool uses them is because they are way cheaper or thats my theory. It is much cheaper to buy a few alumnium bats then constantly buy wooden bats.
-
Hey BMR. It looks like you got things figured out and I wish ya the best. Glad to see your happy with yourself cause thats what matters. Now if only the Sox could help make you EVEN more happy.
-
I thought it was a series of one year options, but only Thomas had a buyout and then the Sox have one for the last year. I wish I had the exact stuff from that time period with me. It was a confusing contract, I remember that.
-
Ya, but if the Sox buyout the final year and Thomas accepts all the options it works out to like 22.5 million guaranteed. It could be more but it can't be less, unless someone else is paying it. Oh man I could only hope they could sucker some other team into him.
