I don’t think Fields will play on Sunday.

I think it’s a matter of find the qb and the rest gets better. Texans before the Watson fiasco…Peyton manning…Trevor Lawrence (Jags stunk…not saying he is a slam dunk but he is pretty good)…Bengals we’re straight up trash when they got Burrow. In general though teams reach for qbs and miss on qbs. Very few end up being the guy but teams need them so they keep trying. Great qbs transcend all and there are very few of them. It’s why if you don’t have one you should never stop trying. But you can win in the league with above average qbs and just putting them in legit positions to excel too. If there was a Peyton Manning slam dunk #1 pick in this class this whole scenario would be so interesting but there are very few of those in reality. Lawrence was that type, Burrow was close, and Caleb Williams might be. Guys that just grade out at another level entering the draft. And cause it’s hard you have Mahomes and Allen as two studs who didn’t grade out as the top guy (but clearly had elite arm tools).

They need massive upgrades on both lines and within the linebacking corps and one more wideout (JSN would look nice). They also need Mooney and Claypool healthy. Than If next year Fields still is a lousy passer, you at least have a better all around team and are in a better spot to take another swing at a qb. Right now it has to be about building the lines and finding another skill position player. Obviously hitting in draft and free agency will me important.

Lions have a flat out solid football team and are tremding up. I don’t know how good Goff is but he is solid. Provably not any better than he is doing right now but I can’t knock what he has done. He has made plays and minimized turnovers and played very good qb this year.

I get it but it is real bad and it is 2 straight real bad performances. Yes it is amazing he can run but you know what - if he can’t pass you won’t win s%*# in this league. He was pure trash. I still think there is 50 percent chance they are grabbing a qb a year from now. Legit believe that. In meantime they need to surround Fields with more talent and it starts with the high pick, however if Bears had the top pick and this was a draft with a legit #1 - I would be having a different conversation and do not know how cut and dry my choice would be. And I like Fields - I am just saying he has become over hyped and he has a lot of s%*# to work on. And I can’t ignore games that are legit this bad. I wouldn’t let him run next week - make him work on short passes and develop.

He was terrible. I was being a bit sarcastic but for example if Caleb Williams was in this draft I probably would take him and trade Fields. So not crazy. 7-21 and 45 yards - that is historically awful (and it was in a dome against one of the worse defenses in the nfl). Not like it was a blizzard game against the most dominating defense in the league. I do not think it is a slam dunk Fields is great. He has tons of flaws and will not have sustained success if he can’t learn to significantly improve as an on schedule passer. I have always said - his athleticism makes his margin for error much greater than most. If he was just a very good athlete I would have already moved on from him as a qb. Thankfully for the Bears he is an elite athlete.

F it. Take a qb at the top. Let the best man win. Seriously - knowing Bears fields will end up crap and they will pass on the next generational qb this time around.

Awful awful performance from Fields. Shows despite all the tools - he has so much work to still do. Yes the weapons stink but he has to make on time plays too. Oline was also terrible. But fields has to make some on schedule plays. Everything can’t just be him making ridiculous running plays or holding ball forever until coverage finally breaks down.

Great game. Tough way to lose.

At least get one and than one real frugal move. Duvall would be nice and than just take a shot at some desperation catcher and hope the team is in a spot where you can dangle some chips at deadline to push team better (or of course start to pivot the other way if things don’t go well).

Raiders will also need a QB and have a lot of assets once they trade Carr. I could see a match of picks and Devonte lining up for a trade up to get a QB. And if not that - if Bears move down they can make it happen by using some of the picks they have.

Very true - and they panicked and than swinging big for Wilson as a plan b without thinking much about it. To some extent I get why - he had a long pedigree of success…but man did it backfire.

Jesus - please tell me the White Sox own those machines. For god sakes I know of high level travel clubs that have those machines (they aren’t cheap but all it takes is on dad with deep pockets to buy).

Love it. But I think it is more likely the Colts moving up than Lions but same thing applies.
