How much of this is JR looking at HAhn saying you told me Tony was the problem so show me that. I am not giving you massive money - prove me that TLR was the issue and if not you are also the issue and I will clean house next year when Kenny retires. Probably not a full JR play - could have some Michael Reinsdorf in there which is - don’t let Hahn totally f things up this year unless he shows something. Not a great strategy cause it really means they should have made front office moves this season - but it tends to like with how JR has typically operated.

He put up 3 plus war each of the past two years. He isn’t terrible by any stretch of the imagine like some of you are implying. If they get him for a scrub by all means. I don’t like the cost but it is a one year deal. If he ages fast than whatever.

Semien is a solid back up. He is better than guys like Chase Daniel. I don’t expect he will be terrible by any stretch.

I can’t imagine he is playing if that is actually his injury. Flus wants as much disinformation as possible. So either his injury isn’t that bad and he is playing (but they want the other team uncertain) or it is pretty bad and he is sitting but they can still have him practice and get reps while also creating disinformation. That said having him practice limits Semien but who cares.

I assume they will hold him through the bye week and than have him play the final quarter of the season. With that said - if he can go you play him. This is the NFL and he still has a lot of learning and development to do. If nothing else - force a window where he has to just pass - even if it is ugly - force quick reads etc as a way to develop.

You are right - they have real talent and should be becoming at next cycle but they also got to get some experience here and at least getting out of group and giving it a fighting chance in 2nd round should be doable. That was an awful 2nd half after dominating the whole first half with nothing to show.

If they get points against England they are in a great spot. Reality is it is likely going to come down to the tiebreaker between us and wales which I presume means whomever beats Iran by more.

I think Herbert and Monty styles are very complimentary but yes - there is nothing special about Monty. He is a jag - just a guy…but good attitude etc so no issue for right money.

Ebner looked awful. He got touched and he went down. Huge step down between the duo of Monty / Herbert. Maybe it was a bad game but man he looked like a nothing burger. On flip side - that 2nd to last drive by Fields was beautiful. And I guess Mooney said he got tired on the missed TD earlier in the game. I like Mooney a lot. He isn’t a super star but the way he carries himself is awesome. Same with Fields and Kmet. I like the way those guys lead and that catch by Cole was just sick. Fields still has a lot of growing to do as a passer - but s%*# - he shows so much it plays and has it moxy. It is just about staying healthy and game experience. He will still have some stinkers but I believe.

People underestimate how much it hurt the Sox not having a healthy engaged Timmy at the plate. Getting prime Timmy back makes a massive difference.

The Vuc deal was awful. Williams was a s%*# #4 pick so far. Derozan was good. The construction not good. But man blowing your load on Vuc is just not smart. Give up talent for a different maker not a volume aging guy on a s%*# team.

Blow it up. Bunch of ducking bums. Donovan sucks. Pathetic. And Lavine had a bad night but really - you are going to bench him and promote more Derozan iso. Don’t get me wrong Derozan had a great game and Lavine sucked but Derozan iso was the death of this squad a year ago. Blow this s%*# up.

I'm going Belly. He's a better defender, younger, and at least is coming off a season he played. Plus the shift moving and some extra hunger - who knows. The other thing I'd point out - he can play multiple outfield positions well (i.e., CF), so if you pivvot Robert or need to reset, it increaess flexibility. So yeah - I like Belly a lot. He could flame out - but I still see his value as a base runner and defender as creating a good floor.

I see him on the Sox.

And not to nitpick - but Favre won a superbowl and Rodgers won a superbowl. So that is 2 superbowls and they were competitive that entire window. It goes back to - it is hard to win a superbowl, let alone multiple ones.
