Who knows. UCLA usually keeps there guys for the most part, that said, he wasn't slated to go necessarily this early, partly because of his committ and the fact that he still has a lot to learn, but his tools grade out well. My guess is the Sox have talked to him and know he wants to play. They are usually very good at feeling out these kind of guys. I also think this makes it more likely we see them grab a tougher sign eventually.
