  1. So in other words, it's ok when the Dems do it, but not ok that the Re-pube-licans gave it right back to them? Having said that, I think it stinks that basically it takes 60 votes to get anything done in the Senate, and that's not how the constitution meant for things to be - REGARDLESS of who's in power.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 06:27 PM) Well, when Kap said that the Clinton campaign would to anything to destroy her opponents, it appears he was right. Kindergarten? WTF? Wow. I'm telling you, it will get worse then this. There's got to be a nuclear detonation in the next two weeks from the Hillary camp against Obama.
  3. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) Shame. I really like Chavez. I think this will just prove that he is part of democracy and he was never a dictator. You would. Of course, you like posting s*** to see what can get you a reaction, too. Have fun!
  4. I haven't got to read anything, I just saw the headline. And this came at the same time that all were on the same page to actually put some teeth in sanctions? That's a little bizarre.
  5. Right. I didn't mean to rip on Kenny specifically, but the reality is, he has to get it done NOW, because he's the one that's on the clock, so to speak.
  6. I agree, and the free agent splash is something that Kenny Williams apparently cannot get done. We are a .500 team in a division where any of the teams can finish above .500 or well above next season.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) Talk seems to be growing about a 50 basis point cut here in Dec. f***ing insane. Not just insane, but f***ing insane.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 12:30 AM) I would love to see the questions for the Dems include those asked by conservatives, liberals and independents. I didn't see the Dem YouTube debate though, so I don't know if that is what happened. Come on NSS... you're not THAT dense.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Koci wanted no part of Roy. As soon as they threw the gloves down, Andre landed a couple of bodyblows and Koci took him to the ice to end the fight. He was scared to death. You see dos two f***ers behind the glass? *WHACK* Dey mayking fun of us. *WHACK* If I ever see those two f***ers, *WHACK*, I kill dem. *WHACK*
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) Lots of support for guys making multi millions per year and going on strike, but some poor SOB who makes $50,000 building cars, he's a greedy s.o.b. you know, just sayin' The writers do not make multi millions per year. Not even close. Try again.
  11. On this one, I get the strike. There's so much more revenue streams then ever before, yet the writers are still paid like it's 1963 (adjusted for inflation). They should get a higher cut up front knowing that their material has more channels of distribution then even 5 years ago.
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 02:13 PM) Rosey? I think you've mistaken me for some other poster. I do see a long, slow decline coming, probably at recession levels. I just don't think its going to be because of inflation as you do. Inflation may go up a bit, but I think the bigger killers will be energy policy, continued high military spending in the government, and massive credit card debt. Each of those three things has multi-pronged negative effects that are just starting to spin off problems into the greater economy. Add into that the mortgage crisis, which will probably peak in 2008 but still linger awhile, and you have a formula for medium term recession. But I suppose if you think we're headed into the next Great Depression, then yeah, I think things are pretty rosey. I do think we'll see a couple of quarters of no growth - negative growth but it's not going to be a deep recession. The truth of the matter is we probably could use one to clean up the riff raff in the economy.
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) So I've heard down here the chances of America having a recession next year are pretty good. Just wondering if you guys think that will be the case or not? NSS will tell you that things are just rosey. At this point, I'd say it's better then a 50-50 shot at a recession.

    Black Friday

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 03:51 AM) Damn, I may rethink my decision to be the last person in America without a HD TV I had been holding out because I didn't want to spend the money. But if you watch sports on tv and you actually spend a littie bit of time watching it, HD does make a big difference. I'm pretty surprised how much the improvement is for hockey. I just flipped between an HD game and a non-HD game and it's almost depressing how bad the non-HD signal is.

Holy s*** - I did finally catch an HD hockey game... what a HUGE difference. You can see the skate lines in the ice after they clean the sheet between periods. f***ing sweet.
  16. And that's what is wrong with the whole damn process. f***ing lazy ass bastards... but they hold this s*** until it will gain them the most effectiveness. It bothers me.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) Answer: They shouldn't. Its inflationary. Yep. And in this climate, highly so, IMO.
  18. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) Holy Frijoles - we have a new leader now in Iowa... Mr. Huckabee. New poll sez... Huckabee: 28% Romney: 25% Giuliani: 12% Thompson: 11% Paul: 5% McCain: 4% Jeez. Not only has Huckabee taken a lead now (after being within 2% in a different poll a few days ago), but John McCain has dropped to 4% and 6th place. That is really bad news for McCain. I wonder if he may drop out soon - his IA numbers are falling like a rock, and hasn't been higher than 5th place in any Iowa poll in November. And JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST by coincidence, a hit piece was put out by the MSM on Huckabee today. Now why TODAY? Media isn't biased my ass as this wasn't timed PERFECTLY now was it? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/huckabee_record
  19. The issue with all of this is / was the INVESTMENT into subprime companies. And that has nothing to do with the fed doing anything. They are trying to fix something with water when it takes oil, if you pardon the analogy.
  20. Guiliani is falling big time too. I wonder if he gets his ass kicked in NH (where he should show strong) if he's done.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) They will. Its already priced in and anticipated. Start thinking about the Feb meeting, because this one is fin. 50 BP?
  22. The Fed better not lower rates by that. Not again. I think they were wrong to do it in the first place, let alone three times.
  23. You have to stay the course. But it shouldn't be for infinity. That's the message that BushCo can't seem to grasp.
  24. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) OK, remove "crusading". By nature, if you think we should stay, you think we should change the world. I disagree with that but I don't have time to debate it. I'll try to get back to it later.
  25. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) I think he's more genuine than any candidate currently in the field. Well, he's more genuine than any of the 4 or 5 candidates in each party who are worth mentioning. I suppose that Kucinich and Paul are pretty much WYSIWYG. I suppose. He is "catering" though. Which they all do... president is more of a "rock star" approach now then anything else.
